Firefox heading back to version 3.5?

So I tried to run a flash in Firefox file, and loading very slowly. So I restarted my computer. When he started once again, my Firefox had changed from version 7 to version 3.5.

It's really, really weird. I advanced and reinstalled Firefox 7 and everything seems fine, except for having to reinstall some add-ons and my story was wiped out. But I can't seem to find any instances of what happens to someone else. It would give me great comfort to know that it isn't just me.

There are a few other reports of similar incidents, but some users find they have two program files of Firefox for different installations of Firefox - it's why I've asked about it. The only way to be sure is to look at the files button. path of the folder and see if there are two files for Firefox or maybe Mozilla Firefox or something similar.

Firefox install always in the same folder, version after version, but some users do a 'custom' install and select an another folderset. In addition, from Firefox 4 beta, all pre-release - Beta, Aurora, & nightly - builds have their own unique, separate folder where Firefox versions have been installed. It was a problem for some users who tried a beta and then reverts to the same version, after he was released - they ended up with two almost identical facilities and had similar problems to your of. They lose Add-ons, but the compatibility check run whenever that version, they launched has been changed.

  • just downloaded firefox 8 and disabled mcafee site Advisor how to get back to version 7

just downloaded firefox 8 and it disabled the Advisor site on my mcafee security suite. How to get back to version 7 until the site Advisor is compatible with version 8?

Although I gave up on it for now, if you don't have a lot of extension, you can run it in Version 8, actually if you ran it 7, you're probably doing something else that activate. As their website says you a version number you suggest to reinstall and restart Firefox twice, see

I have reactivated it as I had turned it off and it works, guess I'll try it for a few days now that I'm on 8.0. While the difference between what I ran on 7.0.1 this is I have reactivated earlier "McAfee Site Advisor" but then the main reason that I have no problems is that I avoid bad extensions.

I see that it is not marked as compatible with 8.0 but many of my extensions are not anyway. I have

    extensions.checkCompatibility.8.0 set to false

and my McAfee Site Advisor is 3.4.0

The extensions that I use are listed hereand I actually have links with the compatibility reports it for each extension, but were not check things there for several months.

We have a product that uses a java applet to run it. Until the 22nd of Firefox (and all previous versions), the Firefox to work with our product, even when no other browser can't we depend on. We must be able to remove 23 FF and re - install 22 FF. I tried all the recommendations to solve the problem, but nothing works. Our Apple customers are people who are most affected because 6 Safari, Chrome, or Firefox will run our product. Our customers PC can run IE.

How do I download Firefox 22? I have a copy saved 21 FF for PC Installer, but not for Mac.

I know that this goes against the advice of Firefox, but I am instructing my company and my customers to disable updates for Firefox until we can use future versions.

By default, the web pages are limited to loading files in the same directory and subdirectories. To relax this restriction, you can switch a parameter in all: config. This is not new, but in case this setting affects your application in a new way now, do you want to try?

The subject: config method should work for everything: newtab, but extensions can substitute (and a user.js file it can return to the next boot).

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste the file and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) assuming that it is set to its default true, double-click the preference security.fileuri.strict_origin_policy to activate it false.

    Any difference?

  • I don't like version 7. How can I go back to version 6?

I don't like version 7. How can I go back to version 6?

Downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first of all uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option 'remove my Firefox personal data '. If you select this option, it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.

Then you can install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your favorite courses, passwords etc.

I recommend, to avoid possible problems with decommissioning, accessing your profile folder and delete the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Delete these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, check their compatibility and cancel the toolbar customizations.

For more information on how to find your profile folder, see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles

  • Why the feature "I m Feeling Lucky" has been removed from the Firefox awesomebar in all versions after version 3.6?

Firefox 3.6, when I type something specific, like "wikipedia steve jobs" in the url bar, I am taken directly to the page of Wikipedia for Steve Jobs, and if I type something less specific, I am taken to a results page of Google search for what I typed in the bar (unless it was a URL, of course). in the current version of Firefox, however, I am taken to a page of Google search results for whatever I type in (again, not a URL, of course), even if the page I'm looking for is obvious - how I can avoid this extra step and find the functionality of Firefox 3.6 "I'm Feeling Lucky"?
