Firefox is lack of content and a few guests are white/black.

The other day my system crashed unexpectedly, and as soon as the boot, firefox is no longer looks like before. It is completely unusable, because there is no readable text (this small it is itself overlaps), all the guests he gives me appear as large black boxes, and my menus have no text for me to navigate. There is no icons, menus, Favorites, etc. available buttons. I tried to uninstall and reinstall, my cleaning registry values, etc, but nothing has worked so far. I can still browse the internet in Chrome, however.

Try a cleaning (re) install and delete the folder of Firefox (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) program to ensure that all files get updated.

Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current version of Firefox, if possible.

  • Do NOT remove the data personal when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because all profile files will be deleted and you will also lose your personal data such as bookmarks and passwords from other versions of Firefox profiles.

Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

Your bookmarks and other profile data stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a relocation, but make sure that you do not select delete data of a personal nature if you uninstall Firefox.

If there are still problems, then try a new profile as well.

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.

See "basic troubleshooting: a new profile:

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "tools > Modules > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from the old profile to the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.

Salvation; I'm wanting to get away from chrome, but in firefox, I can't get the 'hangouts' working in gmail, even if I do not have the googletalkplugin installed on my pc. Another issue I see is that, on some pages, video does not work; in the latest version of chrome, I understand that the flash thing has changed and I guess that firefox has not changed in the same way. I hesitated when downloading a plugin, as shown on the screenshot for fear that it will mess up video in chrome, I would use chrome. I would rather not switch back from firefox to chrome to phone or watch the video. Help, please.

I asked for help on the hangouts thing before, but your suggestion 'install plugin' was not enough, so I request further assistance on this now. on the video thing, please just tell if I should download the plugin and whether or not it will affect the reading in chrome. Thank you

Working! I had the talk plugin set to always turn on but I had disabled the video because I only use the phone, but apparently, they both need to be addressed to always activate... Please mark this as resolved and thank you!

If hardware acceleration is the cause of the problems then this means that Firefox is unable to use the GPU to your chart view card in order to unload the main processor and perform actions more quickly.

  • Firefox not to honor the "Offline Web content and data user" settings

Firefox still accept web content offline and the user data, I have never any notification regardless of the 'tell me when a website asks to store data for use in offline mode' parameter (in preferences > advanced > network).

I also completely erased all: permissions tab regardless of the "all sites > offline storage" storage offline implementation is always allowed.

Here is one - step by step to reproduce my problem.
    1. make sure all: permissions is clear
2 make sure that the list to: Preferences > network > "the following Web sites are..." "is that clear
    3. close the preferences window
4 go to go to http://appcachefacts.info/demo/ ... No notification about the offline cache will appear.
    5. open the preferences, the list of preferences > network > "the following Web sites are..." »
Will fill up now with http://appcachefacts.info (1.1 MB)

This article list persists even after closing the browser window and re - open.
This happens with a total disregard for the settings described in the first paragraph.

I found a related question, but it's old and archived:

Firefox will store small amounts (less than 50 MB) of data without asking permission.

AT & T changed their design of the homepage, and I liked the old one. A way to create my own homepage in Firefox using modules for content that I prefer? • Establishment of Firefox urging 42.0 refreshed and now my 2 - Fav went modules! Is reversal Possible to undo changes?

In moments, Firefox "Refresh" made a mess of my selections, custom modules, plugins, toolbars, etc and now fails, 2 - my favorite "go - to" Add - ons are (1) went 1 and (2) the other will not be installed. I would NEVER suggest that Firefox again. I was doing pretty well... Except for several months, Firefox crashes suddenly, and I have to go in to effect Firefox Task Manager, then open Firefox anew. All I can say is, I have to lose my marbles to 'Refresh' Firefox for the second time in a few years, after the first sentence of time due, and the overall results are worse now, the second time. I'm also tired of Firefox crashes.

Anyway, is the "refresh" which took place in the last hour, reversible? Also, just noticed "old Firefox Data folder ' then he'd ever seen before... is - it related to Firefox refreshing?

    Help?

Yes, an update moves the entire record of the settings in the folder of old data from Firefox, then Firefox creates a new folder of parameters with selected data in your old folder, not to mention most of the preferences or your extensions.

You can use the contents of the Old Firefox Data folder to "roll back" the refresh, but this involves several steps. It takes 5 minutes, but it's perhaps faster than the recovery of individual files and load those into your new profile.

Check in the folder 'Old data Firefox' update adds a folder with a random semi name on your desktop. If there is only one, that probably has your old settings and Add-ons. If there is more than one, you'll want to work with one who has been updated recently.

Once you have identified the profile folder, that you want to restore, here is my "old profile resurrection suggested procedure:

    Overview

Here are the steps described in more detail below:

    1. Create a new Firefox profile
    2. Delete all of this profile folder
    3. Copy in all of the old profile folder

Create a new profile for Firefox (Windows)

Exit Firefox completely and start up in the Profile Manager by pasting the following in the Windows search, or the Run dialog box by pressing ENTER:

    firefox.exe -P

Note: any time want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog box.

Click on the button create a profile, give it a name like OldSettings and skip the option to change the location of the folder. Select the new profile from the dialog box, and then start Firefox.

Open the new profile folder in Windows Explorer

Firefox in the new profile should look like a new installation of the plant. Open the troubleshooting information page by using either:

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • Menu help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table, click on the view file"" button. Firefox will launch your new profile folder in Windows Explorer.

This folder open, switch back to Firefox and get out by using either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Firefox is closed, the profile folder must be front and Center, or you can activate it by using the taskbar.

Copy old data instead of new

In this new profile folder you just popped open - NOT the one on your desktop - select all content (you can use Ctrl + a) and delete (you can press Delete on the keyboard).

Leave this window open, open or switch to your folder of old data of Firefox. Consult your old profile folder. At this level, you should see a folder named bookmarkbackups among other things.

Select all (Ctrl + a) and copy (or right-click > copy or Ctrl + c).

Switch to the empty profile folder in another window and paste (or right-click > paste or Ctrl + v). This may take a few minutes because some files are large.

    Launch Firefox

Firefox should start in this 'new' profile with the old resurrected profile data. Success?

  • Firefox is not the content, especially the links.

This is my problem in a screenshot: http://d.pr/i/DjkB
The content is not displayed and especially links. Links aren't there and sometimes the text is displayed, but all Web sites are dysfunctional because of this.

Here is a link to a screenshot showing how the same Web site should look like: http://d.pr/i/ZRvN

    Hi again,

My problem is that since I'm on Linux and has not installed the Microsoft fonts once I have upgraded to Fedora 17 last year Firefox not worked properly.

    I had to do "wget http://www.my-guides.net/en/images/stories/fedora12/msttcore-fonts-2.0-3.noarch.rpm' in my terminal then ' su - c" rpm - ivh msttcore-fonts - 2.0 - 3.noarch.rpm to install.

Now I have Arial, Verdana, Times New Roman, MS Trebushet and a few others. But not Helvetica. It would be preferable to find the font Helvetica somewhere to be absolutely sure.

    Thank you for your help.

It might be a good idea to have Firefox extract fonts of a cdn on the internet if the fonts on the Web site are not installed on the customers system so that users can enjoy the best of the web?

Pressing F5 to refresh the page address bar correctly shows green with no mixed content popup and that diversity side himself.
SSLCertificateChainFile was added, and it makes no difference.
Problem does not occur in other browsers (IE, Safari, Chrome).
A new FF profile has been attempted, but same problem occurs.

Why is refreshing the page work?

Problem in all browsers firefox 3.5 to 14.01. I don't know about those < 3.5.

I have read and tried most of the suggestions in the forum and elsewhere, but can't find a solution.

I have not provided the url because it is my order page and it is important for me to see from real visitors.

First of all thank you for your comments jscher2000

I thought I had fixed it, but I had to clear the history and turn off the computer for a few more minutes for the error reappear.
Well it turns out that this was not the difference between the direct replacement and replace().
    However this worked.

    If (xFf) setTimeout (function () {top.location.href = "https://ord.html"}, 300);

Thus allowing any javascript code following (pending) to finish as suggested.
I came to the same conclusion before reading your comments.

    WORKS NOW

However the redirection on the server is a more robust solution.

  • Firefox starts in silent mode and consumes up to my processor
