Firefox no longer the option 'click_to_play '.

I activated option "click_to_play" in older versions of Firefox and it worked fine until I upgraded from to v.23 v.22 and it has stopped working and I don't know why.

Hello nemoload, if plugins.click_to_play is set to true, you can go to firefox > tools > addons > plugins where it is now possible to put this on a per plugin basis...

  • When firefox crashes me gives is no longer the option to restore session so I'm losing all my tabs, it is extremely frustrating!

I don't speak of the option "save and exit". I mean when the mozilla crashes it gives me is no longer the possibility to restore my session, instead appears a page that says new tab, this isn't even the homepage google/mozilla. Is there a way to solve this problem. I have not changed my settings.

The settings were wrong by default with the new version, because I've never made any changes to my personal settings (new version just change session restore I think). But this is how I solved the problem (I have no accidents, but after an auto reboots for updates I had the possibility to restore the tabs again). I will be "BOLD" by the party who has solved the problem:

"For another session of restoration of problems, you may need to make corrections to your Firefox settings:

At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button (Tools menu in Windows XP) and then click Options
Select the Privacy panel and make sure Firefox will: is set to either Remember history or Use custom settings for history.
If Firefox will: is set to Use custom settings for history then make sure that Permanent Private Browsing mode is not selected.
If Firefox will: is set to Use custom settings for history and Clear history when Firefox closes is selected, then click the Settings button and make sure that Browsing History is not selected.
Click OK to close the Options window"

I think the problem was that I've always had the selected history navigation that does not work as it used to with the new version.

I checked that I am still connected to iCloud that I continue to receive the prompt and acceptances.

Solved the problem. Disconnected iCloud (told to keep the calendar, etc. on this Mac). Signed back into account iCloud and everything is "good"!

  • I tried to disable "remember passwords for sites" option, but when I exit Firefox and returned, the option is enabled. The solutions page do not help.

It is a general problem I have with the saving options. It only started a few days ago.

    I lived it in 37.0.2 and 38.0.5.

    Help page https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-to-fix-preferences-wont-save

contains several solutions. I tried them all and they do not work.
    Please notify.

The two suggested solutions were things that I had already tried without success.

Finally, what works after much trial and error:
1 back up all my favorites.
    2 uninstall Firefox.
3 reinstall Firefox but important! not begin immediately after installation!
    4. run firefox.exe Pei from the command window.
    5. in the Profile Manager, delete all the existing profiles and create a new.
    6. start Firefox, import bookmarks and set the options.

The options will now be saved!

  • Since the installation of 4.0.1 I can't do a right-click on the icon in my taskbar and have Firefox give me the option "close and save" tabs. Only let's me know, I'm about to close several tabs. How to make 'save & close' return?

Before installing 4.0.1 I could right click on the Firefox icon in the task bar of my computer and press on the window. He would then give me the option to "save the tabs and exit" or "close all tabs".
Now he comes and tells me I'm going to close several tabs.

It was convenient to be able to close Firefox and open it with all the tabs in place. There is nothing more annoying than to have several tabs lost because your computer has is an update of the day overnight and restarted. It is also useful when you want to run a tun - up or cleaner who asked that closing your browser for best results.

How to make 'save and exit' return?

    Thank you

Firefox stores now always the old session, and you can access it by going to the history menu and selecting "restore previous Session."

If you want Firefox to display the message to save the session, it can be turned on again by changing some preferences.

    1. Type of topic: config in the address bar and press on enter
    2. Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    3. Find browser.tabs.warnOnClosepreference, if its value is set to false, double-click on it to change its value to true
    4. Repeat this for 3 preferences browser.warnOnQuit, the browser.warnOnRestart and the browser.showQuitWarning

If you always open the last set of tabs, another approach is the following:

    1. Click on the orange button Firefox, then select options to open the options window
    2. Go to the general Panel
    3. Change the setting "When Firefox starts" to "show my windows and tabs from last time '.

  • In the dialog downloads of Firefox, is the option 'Remove list' means the selected download will be deleted? (I want to delete it.)

I use Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, Service Pack 3, on a Dell_GX620. I went to the Addictedtoradio.com site I used on my Samsung phone yesterday for the first time. I was able to play the music of the 80s on the phone without special adaptations to the phone. I tried to do the same thing on my computer at home. I went to the website but when I tried to access the music, he led me to download a file, Xvidinstall.exe, and I did. He is described as 382 KB - totalvidplayer.com. I use AVG anti-virus free edition which is supposed to protect my computer when web browsing. However, once I had downloaded the file, I got the message from standard Windows it is an executable file that may contain viruses that could harm my computer. At this point, I started to wish that I don't him had not downloaded, I don't want to take the risk. I'm going to do my music another way. I did not open the download but I guess it's now on my computer and I want to get rid of it, without opening it. When I right click on this file (in the list of downloads of Firefox), one of the options is 'remove list '. There is no option 'remove '. If I remove it from the list, is it deleted? Or it will always be on my computer but just not shown in the list? I would like to remove it from my computer because it can contain viruses. How can I be sure to remove it safely?

    I currently have Firefox 4.0.1.

Record of the tabs was not removed from Firefox 4, but it works a little differently.

    • By default, Firefox 4 will not ask to save tabs, but instead, it will automatically save your tabs on the output unless you're in private browsing mode. You can restore the next time by:

    1. Type of topic: config in the URL/address bar and press the Enter key
    2. Accept the warning message (promise to be careful)
    3. Open the preferences/list page
    4. Filter = browser.tabs.warnOnClose
    5. If its value is set to false, double-click top (in the lower panel) to toggle its value to true
    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for the 3 following preferences also:
      • browser.warnOnQuit
      • browser.warnOnRestart
      • browser.showQuitWarning

  • Why Firefox doesn't save my tabs from the previous session although I chose to do it in the options?

Firefox does not save my tabs from the previous session, although I have chosen in options, to save my tabs from the previous session.

Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so it is no longer necessary for the dialog box asking if you want to save the current session.

Use ' file > exit ' or ' Firefox > output "If you want to restore multiple windows.

You can use "Firefox > history > restore previous Session ' to get the previous session at any time.

It is normal to have a slight delay, while Firefox generates the list. If you wait more than 10 seconds, there may be a problem with the settings file that Firefox is reading.

As it is difficult to change, when there is a problem, we offer usually when you rename the file and allows Firefox to rebuild the Windows registry. Here's how:

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Break while Firefox finishing his cleaning, then rename the mimeTypes.rdf to mimeTypes.old (or another name of your choice, in the case where you decide to roll back this experience).

Launch Firefox back up again and return to the Options page to specify your preference. The list will load?
