Firefox opens always 2nd tab to connect Yahoo

I had to reset Firefox to try to solve another problem of software (which he did not set BTW) and after the reboot everytime I open Firefox, I get a 2nd tab for Yahoo asking me to connect to my Yahoo account even if I never disconnect. I have check the keep me signed in box, enter my password and click on sign in and then the next time I open Firefox I have to go through the whole process again because the Yahoo tab opens once AGAIN! I use the Yahoo Mail Notifier for Firefox extension, but I used it for years with no problems. I saw somewhere else that someone suggested to go into the Options and Privacy tab and under ensuring that history, it has been updated to use the custom settings for history and that the use private browsing Mode was NOT checked and Cookies keeping has been fixed to keep up to what Firefox closed with an exception of Yahoo. But the mine was created to remind the history. However, when I put to personal use, the private browsing Mode has not been verified, the cookies are set to keep until it expires and there is a box for clear history when Firefox closes and it is unchecked. Anyone has any suggestions for what could be the cause? It's really frustrating!

  • Since the upgrade to the 32 version, firefox opens always old tabs at startup, even if I don't have this option value. Version 33.0.3 did the same thing.

When I updated Firefox to version 32, he started to always show my tabs in the last session when it is started. I tried to change the "Startup of Firefox" option to all three of the available choices. None of them changed the behavior. It nevertheless opens the tabs that were open last. I waited for the next version (33.0.3), but the behavior is always the same. I would like Firefox to open my home page selected.

One possibility is that Firefox hangs during shutdown, and so Firefox is recovering from an accident each time. But if you can see it stop normally in your tests, which probably isn't.

Software sometimes external will create or update an optional parameters file named user.js. For some reason, one of the things that often turns in there is a preference to restore your previous session at once. However, because Firefox uses user.js to override your normal parameters, whenever it starts, which then turns into a permanent change. To check this and remove any file user.js, you find, try this technical support article: How to fix preferences that will not save.

  • Is there a way to disable the function where firefox opens a new tab when you scroll a click in the header bar?

Is there a way to disable the function where firefox opens a new tab when you scroll a click in the header bar? This feature in conflict with my program of multiple monitors (display fusion) since this program allows you to change your current active window the monitor 1 monitor 2 and vice versa BY clicking the header of BAR SCROLLING (or whatever you call the highest part of your window). With firefox, I can't easily change my active window between monitors because instead, it opens a new tab.

If the window is maximized, you can then switch this pref to disable the display of the tabs in the title bar:

    • browser.tabs.drawInTitlebar = false

You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.

  • Session Restore does not work; Firefox opens 4 other tabs instead

In general, Options, I chose to restore my windows and tabs from last time and set the homepage of Yahoo. It was like that for years. Yahoo is my homepage until I close the browser. From a month or two ago, whenever I close the session is not restored, or is Yahoo my home page more. Instead, open 4 tabs: Welcome to Firefox, Mozilla Firefox Start Page, an explanation of WOT (one of my extensions) and a new tab.

The first time it happened, I went to the Options and those in general have changed - home page is set to Mozilla instead of Yahoo, and when FireFox starts now open the homepage instead of open my previous tabs. It doesn't matter if it's before a restart of Windows or if I just close the browser and reopen immediately.

I read many others having problems with the system restore. only a solution has been found and his question was not the same mine - it must also make changes I'm not comfortable doing.

Any ideas? Given I have spent an hour to research, and nobody don't seems to have solved this, I think that I can go to Chrome... not what I want to do, but it's not good.

You can check for problems with preferences.

Delete a possible user.js file and files numbered prefs-# .js and rename (or delete) the file prefs.js to reset all the prefs by default, including the prefs set via user.js and pref which is no longer supported in the current version of Firefox.

    Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • Click the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem.

  • How can I stop Firefox opening old windows/tabs after a crash?

every time it crashes and I try to re-open the program, it opens all my old tabs and windows. often, these are the videos which all begin to play both. or worse still, it opens the page that did crash in the first place and crashes again.

How can I stop this annoying feature?

If there is no way to stop it, can you recommend a simple browser that don't try to think for you?

The value of the integer pref browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes to 0 on the subject: config page in order to get the about: sessionrestore page immediately with the first start after a collision has occurred or the Task Manager was used for the closing of Firefox.

This way, you see if the previous session is not close properly or it crashed and deselects the tabs that you do not want to reopen, but will reopen the other tabs.
