Firefox OSX 10.7.5 25.0.1 forces the use of default input source, why?

Hello

I have not noticed this in previous versions of Firefox, but OSX 10.7.5 25.0.1 version requires the use of the input source by default (e.g. my laptop, instead of the external keyboard connected keyboard).

All other input devices are grayed out in the language & entry drop-down toolbar when the Firefox application is in short. This does not happen with any other application on my desktop.

I think that's the question relates to this subject also:

https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/questions/977966?ESAB=a & As = AAQ

See you soon,.

Sunkai.

Well, it's a broader issue to do with the question of whether the keyboard drivers that are installed are compatible with 32-bit and 64-bit applications.

Firefox starts in mode 64-bit OSX by default, and if your keyboard drivers are 32-bit only, then this input source is not usable and is grayed out.

Discussion of this for the British provisions can be found here:

http://www.Gyford.com/Phil/writing/2005/11/20/using_a_british.php#c285152

the British 64 - bit drivers layout can come from here:

http://Liyang.Hu/OSX-British.XHTML

If you have problems with your own keyboard, with a provision of another country, you will need to find drivers 64-bit for this layout.

This is the reason why they probably do not work for you is your Firefox User Agent string is marred by another program you have installed, or maybe a failed attempt to usurp IE 6.

How to import bookmarks from Win7 to my firefox OSX?

Firefox supports two different Exchange formats:

    • 'Backup' - fuller (like canned food tags) - JSON format once restored, replaces all existing bookmarks in the browser
    • 'Export' - compatible with other browsers - HTML format when they are imported, is added to any existing bookmarks in the browser

Check out these articles and see if you can get the bookmarks when you need:

To physically move the bookmarks file, you can use:

    • removable media such as a USB Flash drive
    • storage cloud, for example, Dropbox, or an attachment to an email to yourself

Finally, you could consider implementation service of Firefox sync if you want to keep the two Firefoxes synchronized. It is not necessary for a one-time transfer.

Sorry to hear that, but if you have a problem with the firefox update the best way is to download and install the new version.

    1. download a new copy of the Firefox program

    2 Firefox 11.0 of: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html

    3. Trash , install the current application of Firefox to do a cleaning.

    4. install the new version you downloaded.

  • Where is my Firefox OSX app?

I tried to find my Firefox request to put it in the login items and I can't find it anywhere! His is not visible. I have an alias of Firefox in the dock and the browser starts, so it should be there but Ive hunted everywhere especially in Applications where I thought it should be. No research on Spotlight, it reveals no more. How can this be? Suggestions where demand will be, or how I can get to work? Should I reinstall? OS 10.6.8.

It's now resolved although some quirks was certainly past on my computer. Running this morning and not only no Firefox application but the alias of Firefox that was there (and Firefox work) when I stopped last night had disappeared from the dock! Goose bumps. In any case made a new download of Firefox site and everything is back to normal with the visible Firefox in Applications.

  • Safari 8.0 - 9.0 100% usage Cpu OSX 10.11.3 that can relate to the bookmarks / favorites

I have a very strange problem like many, I remember Yosemite until last El Capitan 10.11.3 (15 d 21) and Safari Version 9.0.3 (11601.4.4) indeed, it started to become more annoying over time. Safari sometimes goes upward at 100% cpu usage, sometimes even more, but it is directly on the process of safari, all child processes are the normal CPU including wireless networking usage. I started because of debugging that until now I can't to closed source. I tried deleting all the cache, cookies, bookmarks and all data stored in what concerns the Safari.app, including navigation and other databases. It doesn't have a lot of help. I've created a new test account on my macbook pro, then tried to reproduce the problem with osx plain-set with safari, but after hours of use could not reproduce the problem. Then I imported Bookmarks.plist on my account current account set correctly, after less then 15 minutes, safari rose to 100% cpu again usage. I also tried to use iCloud to automatically migrate the data from safari snacks I made mistake in manual transfer, but it seems icloud backup safari is also problem back. My favorite looks normal, nothing to share here, a few favorite pages stored in a subdirectory in Favorites and couple more bookmarks but especially file plist format seems to be corrupted itself. I couldn't find that question is strictly linked to a Web site, it seems that this could be linked to the favorite bookmarks. Does anyone have and solution on this issue?

PS. I have no problem with other browsers, such as Opera, Chrome, Firefox - but using another browser is not the solution. If this could be useful I took part in the beta to preview at Yosemite program, I returned to normal release with the first public version of Yosemite, but I don't really think that it is the source of the problem.

  • How can I change the 39 firefox tabs so that they do not mix in the background so ALL tabs will be visible/colorful?

    Hello:

Previously, I had firefox 38 and was using an older version of the classic theme restaurateur v1.2.9.6 and I have no problem see the tabs colorful.

Unfortunately, given that the upgrade to firefox 39 and classic theme restaurateur v1.3.5 only colorful tab is the active tab that you currently can within (we) work, the other tab to blend into the background of persona. I know some people probably like how the inactive tabs blend into the background... I'm NOT one of those people.

It is quite difficult to see the tabs 'because' they mix in the background a little too well. Is there a way to change things so that ALL tabs even inactive tabs that I do not work on/with will be visible and visible by colorful instead of melt in some context of the persona shows at some point I mean?

    Thank you.

I wonder if this has been changed to avoid disrupting the use of light/personas themes? I don't see anything obvious in the release notes history: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/versions/

I think it's something that would go more to the author of the classic theme restaurateur. Support seems to be a very long thread here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=48 & t = 2827985

  • Firefox is not saving my session when I close the browser

I keep my browser set to remember my tabs open when I close Firefox. Since the last update, but I couldn't get there. I checked my preferences and the option to keep the tabs in Firefox closing is always selected. When I go to for closing of Firefox, however, I get the 'you are about to close X tabs' message and all the tabs are forgotten. When I open Firefox again the tabs I had open are all gone. I tried to re-selecting the option 'save my tabs' several times, but he did not a difference in Performance Explorer, even if the settings are still correct when I check again. I'm not sure what to do about this, but it's quite maddening and I would really like to find a solution, best before frustration leads me to find another browser to use.

Use "Firefox > output" (Windows: Firefox/file > quit;) Mac: Firefox > quit Firefox. Linux: Firefox/file > exit) to close Firefox if you are currently doing by clicking on the X close in the title bar of Firefox.

In the case you use 'clear history of Firefox closing. "

Firefox update and retrieve files in the sessionstore-backups folder and create a sessionstore.js file when you close Firefox?

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

  • Firefox is already running but is not responding. The old process of Firefox must be closed to open a new window.

When I try to open Firefox, I get this message:
"Firefox is already running but is not responding. The old process of Firefox must be closed to open a new window. »
I then clicked close firefox, but the problem was solved not so I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox, but it's the same thing.
At this point, I went to support Mozilla and tried the steps described in the article, "Firefox is already running but is not responsible for - How to fix error message", but the firefox.exe process was not in the processes tab in windows Task Manager. While he was in the Details tab, when I tried to put an end to the process, I received this message:

"The operation could not be completed. Access is denied. "

What can I do to fix this?

    Thank you.

Usually when you stop and restart Windows, Firefox is not running and can be started normally.

Firefox is set to start automatically with Windows? Microsoft has a utility to investigate what is set to happen at startup: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

It is possible that something is triggering a process in your default browser and it is the hanging of Firefox. You can try to change your default browser to IE (IE can offer to do when you start) before the shutdown and restart Windows to see if it makes a difference.

  • Firefox doesn't open PDF - I tried most of the help topic, nothing has worked

For a week or more, FireFox wasn't able to open pdf files in the browser. The page is empty, nothing happens. Im still able to click with the right button on a pdf file and make a backup action if.
Ive read several other subjects and tried some things like change the preferences on what program should open the pdf file, or how it must be open (or rather save as). None of them worked.

One solution, I have not tried, that might work, but should be my last resort, would be to uninstall and reinstall FF.
We hope to see if anyone has a tip about thow to change this.

  • When I ask Firefox to get whatever it is, the answer is provided by Google, why, even if Firefox is my default browser?

Firefox is my default browser, but the answers to any question search provided by Google.

Mozilla never has not its own search site as a research site for example bing.com, google.com, yahoo.com etc.

You can choose one of the search engines by default that comes in the search bar or you can add another site to say http://mycroftproject.com/

It seems that if you do not use en Firefox as otherwise you would get from search results to Yahoo rather default since Firefox 34.0

  • There are a lot of Add-ons for firefox. Could you add the use of memory and the size of the code snippet. To download a & search for mem usage... bad.

Looking through the massive amounts of Add-ons is a bit annoying. I always want to know how big the app is and how a memory trail I will get. I now have to download the application for size and then the search engine application to see if it is a heavy memory drag. Today, I tried a screenshot of Firefox Add-on. The first was 2.4 mb the second was 414 KB, it's a big difference. Then after searching memory, I found problems.

This info can be added to code snippets.
