  I have an old iMac running 10.6.8. After I run Firefox, it crashes after 10 seconds (the beachball of death appears for a few seconds, and then it crashes).

  • Disk utility to repair permissions of the drive running (fixed some of them, no of course Firefox related)
  • Remove Firefox app
  • And rename ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox ~/Library/Application Support/NotFirefox so it will not be used
  • Reinstall the latest 23.0.1 of the Firefox 23.0.1.dmg Firefox
  • It still crashes
  • Run Safe Mode and it still crashes

  The bug below report comes from the crash to safe mode. He had previously worked for many years.

  Disconnect for security. Use the SafeMode clean Windows, but from the F8 key. See if you can install Firefox.

  I wonder if somehow, security software is always blocking the installation. Consider temporarily uninstall if necessary security software. No doubt other .exe files run (or I doubt you could do a lot with the computer) and this isn't a problem with file associations have been corrupted.

  Please make sure that firefox.exe, plugin - container.exe and FlashPlayerPlugin_*.exe are not blocked or sandbox sort by your security or software in the case where it doesn't work or try to change your provider AV (I would recommend microsoft security essential, it is quite reliable and light) or downgrade to flash version 10.3.

• How can I fix Firefox 18 and 19 to take too long to close when the custom settings for history is used?

  I had 12. Firefox (FF) something and he used with happiness when I was getting a new hard drive and start over, I decided to upgrade to the latest FF of the moment, 18.something...

  After going through the implementation of all the different Add - ons etc... and reset the options/preferences (not cool how you reset all those whenever it updates!) The opening time and closing went from 2 to 4 seconds each to 78 seconds to open and 48 seconds to close. In the last two days, I tried (except reset) and read all the suggestions on here does not.

  So I read up on how to uninstall completely any trace of Firefox so I could do a clean install, which did not work, either: the freshly reinstalled 18 FF. ? program still opened and closed at the same time, and had all my info despite my deleting files/sub-sub-sub-records said to hold this info. I disabled everything in FF, still no improvement, so still once I tried to find info on how to completely remove the FF and still nothing it is right for current programs.

  Today I looked again for the info on how to remove completely the FF, found something new to me and tried this, including the complete registry search and remove anything with the name of firefox, then reinstalled FF 18. ?
  Yet all my favorites and info was there, and when I raised my help he auto-mis updated to 19.0 without my permission, even when I don't like other decisions for me for "my good"(d'où le nom d'écran) not OK! ".

  So I tried the reset function to 19.0 FF and it's just that and the opening and closing time lag had gone, back to 2-4 seconds each, which seemed great!, but no.

  When I went back to set up my options and restarted, FF went back to the lag, so I eventually removed/reset everything and all was well again, so I started putting/setting things back one at a time, that's when I found and verified the problem, the history settings!!!
  

  I repeated this 6 times with the same results:
  The value of history to remember, and everything works well, story custom game lag returns without fail.

  My settings in Custom were:

  Accept and remember everything until I close FF
  Clear history the closure of FF.

  In the "Settings" submenu under the closure of FF clear history:
  All 6 boxes are checked for history and no boxes have been checked for data (all default values)

  I watched the process running in the task manager during startup and shutdown FF with these settings, I found that it was not only FF.exe works but also a plugin - container.exe, both eventually stop after about 48 seconds, the plugin container does not appear to run when the story is set on do not forget all the... (I have an incomplete memory on the container of plugin causing problems of this kind in the past, but I can't remember what or exactly when so much...)

  I also tried to leave the setting of history to remember them all and him restarted and tried to erase everything in the menu Tools and FF unresponsive for about 60 seconds and then seemed fine afterwards.

  So, I conclude that there is a problem in the newer versions with the history of compensation in the background while the browser continues to operate, and the likely culprit is the plugin container(again?)...

  So now to the questions...

  Is it possible to set to Custom history and 19.0 FF remain operational during this process and for FF close in a few seconds, as in FF 12. something with the same parameters of the story?
  If yes how can I configure that?

  If no, what is the last version that will work properly with history to remember until FF is closed and then wipe front of re-opening, without waiting for more than a few seconds for everything to happen as it was in my FF12. ? Version?

  Also, How do I remove ALL TRACES of Firefox 18.? and up so that I can do a clean install if I need to, as I said everything that is here or linked to from here up to today, 2/21/2013, was not sufficient.

  (See attached image) That's what worked for me to 19.0 Firefox, and I was able to verify that cookies have been deleted before restart, thanks again for your timely assistance.

• Possible to take a break, turn the unit off, and then out of the previous point?

  Whenever the device turns off, it goes back to the previous song completed, or podcast, which was played.  It's incredibly annoying when you listen long files because the FF is very slow.  I choose on 'pause' the existing/podcast song, then choose lock or just let it stop by itself, but anyway that it restores the previously played file.

  Am I missing something?

  If you take a break and then YOU turn off the player, rather than to let it run itself turned off, it will save the spot.  It won't save the task if it turns off by itself.

  And when you turn it off, hold the button for about 10 seconds or until you see the ring flashing in blue.  Otherwise, it goes into sleep mode and uses the battery life.

• Make a right click on desktop Win takes about 10 seconds to answer - Windows 7 on VM Fusion the Mavericks 6.0.3

  I am running Win7 on VM Fusion Version 6.0.3 (1747349).

  I have 4 GB of RAM and 8 hearts dedicated to the virtual machine.  The virtual machine is running out of Boot Camp and is installed natively on the Mac (although in this case I'm passing by Fusion on Mac).  It works well, except for one thing.  If I right click on the Windows desktop, I get the rotation wheel Windows of death for about 10 seconds, then finally the right click menu will appear.  I tried different things like disable 3D graphic acceleration and put Windows in Visual mode 'high performance '.  Nothing works so far.  It seems that something is happening with the Nvidia driver when I look in the performance / CPU monitor for the period of said spinning wheel.

  Any clues on this?

  (2) install these drivers: DRIVERS NVIDIA GeForce 337.50 version BETA (BETA) driver for my Macbook Pro retina 64-bit.

  You normally have the bar displayed at the bottom of the window module? You can use Ctrl + / to put it on and outside, or right click on an empty area of the tab bar and choose it from the pop-up menu.

  To change settings of the extensions, you should be able to use this tab to get to the Options button:

  Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Extensions category

• Click Box doesn't take a break?

  I am using Captivate 5.   Very new to him.   I have a series of slides, I want to take a break at the end of each group that they are waitting for a button to click for it to go to the next slide.
  I have added a click box to the slide that is supposed to go to the next slide... it is configured to pause the project until you click.  I got to the end of the button about 2 seconds away from the end of the slide on the time line.
  When I saw the project that he break it passes just to the next slide.  I can't seem to get the break no matter what I do.

  If you have no specific setting for your Adobe® Captivate® 5, then you can try to recreate the Captivate 5 preferences:

  (1) close Adobe Captivate 5

  (2) rename the folder 'Captivate 5' in:

  [Windows Vista and Windows 7: C:\Users\[user name] \AppData\Local\Adobe folder

  Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\ [user_name] \Local Adobe application folder

  (3) launch Captivate 5 again and try to view your project once again
