Help! I lost sound on my 17 "Macbook Pro.

Perhaps no coincidence that just went through the last update of El Capitan! Any help would be appreciated.

Go step by step and test.

1. system preference > Sound > output > internal speakers

To highlight the internal speakers.

Make sure that mute is not activated.

2. Plug and remove the headphones.

If you see the red light in the headphone port, plug the headphones

in and o ut of time port 5 or 6 to swing the microphone inside.

Audio output can be blocked using digital technology.

  • Need help to migrate from 2007 to 2015 macbook pro macbook

    I'm helping a friend move their files and information of their old macbook 2007 system to a 2015 new macbook pro.

    They had been saving their macbook with time machine, but the new computer will not recognize the time machine backup, because the operating system is too old.

    Then... I think to connect the computers directly, the old computer the boot target.

    Problem is new computer a thunderbolt, old computer has firewire (400).

    I can buy a bolt of lightning to firewire (800) adapter for $29, then a port firewire 800 to 400 for another $10.

    This should get connected. But this connection will support to initiate the older mode target device so that I can use migration assistant to transfer files?

    I hate spending $40 if it does not work.

    Or, I would be better of just a crush on card ethernet for the new Mac Pro and then directly connect devices with an ethernet cable.

    Still costs $29, but sight to ethernet would probably be more useful than love at first sight to firewire 800, because she has no other firewire devices to connect.

    Someone give me advice or experience with a similar configuration?

  • NO SOUND - Windows 7 on MacBook Pro

    I have no sound from my speakers or audio mini plug, but I get audio through my HDMI to my TV adapter.

    I just had Apple Genius Bar install Bootcamp with a 40 GB Partition. Then I did a standard installation of Windows 7 Home Premium w / SP1, 64-bit. I then completed all Windows updates until he finally said I was updated.

    Then I installed Total Defence award-winning Internet Security (Firewall, virus/malware protection, etc.)

    Here's my spec Info:

    MacBook Pro 7.1 (mid-2010) 13 "

    Mac OS is OS X 10.8.5

    CPU: 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

    Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 320 M

    My audio drivers are: high definition Audio Device & NVIDIA High Definition Audio

    Solving problems is already done:

    A ran the Windows Audio troubleshooting tool, which found nothing wrong

    I have no error message or an exclamation for devices

    I tried to update the drivers. The system registered initially 4 drivers: 2 each high definition Audio Device and 2 each NVIDIA High Definition Audio. Two of the NVIDIA drivers said they were up-to-date, one of the drivers updated to the NVIDIA drivers and the other driver Def high high definition Audio Device did not update. I now seem to have 3 drivers NVIDIA High Definition Audio and 1 high definition Audio Device driver.

    I FOUND THE SOLUTION!

    1. go to http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634?viewlocale=en_US

    2. go to halfway to the bottom of this page and select the computer on which you have. For me it was the MacBook Pro.

    3. click on the link that identifies your computer and a grid opens that displays the different Mac models and operating systems. The grid will determine what version of Bootcamp your computer needs.

    4. click the version within the grid link and it takes you to the appropriate download page.

    5. download the bootcamp on a FAT32 formatted the flash drive, then expand all files.

    6. open the main folder, then the folder drivers and find the right driver for your sound and reinstall. For me, it was the record of Cirrus. There was a 32-bit and 64-bit. I reinstalled 64 bit and then tested my sound and it works!

    I'm not really a computer guy, but I just kept trying different options and it is the one that worked for me. I hope it will work for you! I think that the steps listed above are accurate, but they could be just a touch off or something. I don't want to reproduce the entire sequence by fear to play something else.

  • No sound when connecting the Macbook Pro to ext speakers.

    I have a MacBook Pro (retina, 15 ", mid-2014) running OSx 10.11.6 (El Capitan).

    It has a combined audio port 1/8 "for two speakers and a microphone. The internal speakers work very well and the port works very well with a helmet. What does not work must connect external powered speakers like the computer speakers or the port on a radio. It worked perfectly with all other computers that I have ever owned, and judging from the page linked below it should work for this computer, too, so what's the problem?

    I tried it with a 1/8 "cable this single sound of the door (no tape for micro), and (when it does work), I tried to first insert an adapter that split the audio and microphone, but it does not solve the problem.

    How to make this work?

    I found the problem. When I plugged a cable into the headphone jack, the Mac automatically turned to the low volume - assuming I have connect headset. This is why I couldn't hear it. I open the sound applet in the system area and pushed back the volume of output to the top and voila - fixed.

  • With the help of Photoshop CS5.1 on my macbook pro: all of a sudden, it will not be printed: error reads 'there was an error in the opening of your printer. Print functions will be unavailable until you have selected a printer and reopened all documents. 

    All of a sudden my macbook pro with my epson 3880 printer prints not Photoshop.

    I get this error message: I selected and changed the printer, I have re installed the printer driver.  It is not the printer.  It is not the Apple OS...

    Anyone know what it is?  Thanks for any help... Unfortunately, Adobe offers no...

    Help! Please, I beg you!

    I'm being forced to adopt Outlook for Windows to interface with a NetSuite product that transfers information back and forth between Outlook and NetSuite. A work requirement. And NetSuite has yet to acknowledge that everyone works in a Windows environment or on a PC.

    In an ideal world, I would like to continue to work in the environment, I am used to use (all my favorites on OS X) when switching from time to time in Outlook for Windows to activate the Netsuite interface.

    Good speed, maybe not as fast in general, I imagine running a Windows operating system parallel through something like VM Fusion would be the option the easier for me, since I go back through the day.

    I'm not an expert user, so I need to keep things simple and stable.

    Your advice would be welcome.

    VirtualBox is free. Parallels and Fusion are commercial products. With any VM product, if you sufficient safe, you can run the Windows host OSX reviews and use Outlook for Windows in the VM to interface with Netsuite.

    Please verify that NetSuite is supported under Windows on a virtual Mac machine.

    Another option is to use Bootcamp/Windows and use a VM engine to import the BC/Windows as a virtual machine.

  • Help. execution vmfusion 3.0.0 on MacBook Pro. Impossible to get upward on the side Task Manager PC

    I can barely work the side PC to my Mac but have worked successfully to quickbooks on the side PC for a year (somehow without any problems) but now have two versions of the race of the QB and must 1) save the file in the company of my old version of company of QB in order to remove it from the drive hard all together 2) open and run my Pro version 2012 I need to consume currently BUT that he don't can not open Pro 2012 at all (see the error message attached). Short term solution could be go into the Task Manager and stop smoking in the QB version that seems to work.

    See attached Instant Office.  I can't get either the version of QB to open again the error message tells me that one of the versions of QB is open.

    Cannot find a way to get the Task Manager (or even if it will solve my problem).  function of Ctrl-alt-delete does not seem to translate.  Is there some magical strokes on the mac keyboard to get the Task Manager to get on the side of the PC?

    I have a very rudimentary level of knowledge on the PC... that is probably obvious.

  • MacBook Pro Support - please help

    My MacBook Pro is in repairs since one and a half years. The problem is continuous Frost, blue and pink, fuzzy screen. Tech Center have already changed the card logic 4 times, keyboard, speakers, high & low Carter, battery and an optical drive in year 1. The last repair has been there a month where they replaced the logic board again, and now, the problems started again - freezing, pink/blue screen flashing while watching videos online, speed reduction (literally everything in slow-mo), fan operates at its maximum speed, and all this happens when only one or two browser windows open without any comprehensive process running on it. In addition, it was formatted several times over the past year. Whenever I have contact support they go through the same process again and again. Please let me know if there is any way I can communicate with upper management to find a solution, I'm really frustrated and tired with the product and the process. Any help would be appreciated.

    Dear Sir: we are only a user forum. Apple doesn't have much to do with us at all. That being said, you can do something. Contact Apple directly for help. Save all documentation and be polite and patient. IF you have Applecare you may be in luck. Apple CAN and MAY in its sole discretion will replace a Mac that had a lot of repairs and still does not work properly. The opinion I wrote CAN and in capital letters. This does mean that it is possible, but not 100% guaranteed. If you bought your MacBook pro with a credit card, your warranty may have been extended. Perhaps, it is covered by home insurance...

    Anyway, you have nothing to lose by trying... Have you tried to go to this place "Tech Center" and asking to speak to a Manager or supervisor?

  • MacBook pro issues after updating to Mac OS siera

    I have problems with the new model MBP retina 15 inch Mid 2015 with Force Touch.

    Even I have the same problem. Prior to Macos Siera update everything worked well. After OS update am unable to run my java applications with netbeans. If I start to run any project in netbeans after a time tomcat server does not start and displays tomcat port XXXX is already in use and could not start.

    As well as the sound noisy fan and macbook pro gets hot on the back side. If I stop NetBeans sound fan stops and the macbook to cool in a few minutes.

    After the closure of the tomcat server netbeans IDE does not stop. If you put localhost:XXXX on browser it shows success of tomcat installation page.

    Help us please if you have an idea to solve this problem.

    The same phenomenon occurs when you try to start Glassfish and vampire tetra using netbeans. Themselves (Glassfish and Payara), they work perfectly well if started via the terminal. I don't really know where there is discord.

    All hard disk fairly new works healthy... Desktop and the Finder/opening text electronic documents/mail work / online / all programs open... everything works smooth as before the birth of this current problem.

    The only problem is that all images, so stills open in preview, or movies open in Quicktime, or office photos and even live in Skype pictures... suddenly became - the best way I can describe it is - "Posterization" i.e. all areas of black/shadow in the film images are displayed as a red purple fluctuation.

    There is absolutely no problem opening, movies, or images and audio tracks sound/Skype film is not in any way affected.  I suspect a hardware problem, but someone might suggest that he could be?  Thanks for any help BC

    If it's a MacBook Pro from the beginning of 2008, it is probably the formidable NVidia video problem. There was a repair extended for that program, but it ended in 2012: MacBook Pro: distorted video or no video issues - Apple Support

I won't be carrying massive files that weigh tons and can easily broken / lost files kept in the breast, as do the current year. However, I checked with my school and they say that you can use the technology as an alternative. Instantly I thought to Apple, since I love their products and buy regular. I have a Apple Watch, 6 s iPhone and an iPad 2 Air (we sell) but I want something new and powerful, I can use for Sixth Form.

    So my question is, should I get a Macbook (any model) or a Pro iPad with accessories?

    I take:

    Technical design - so should run CAD, Word, be fundamentally powerful and able to have sketches.

    Media Studies - must be able to manage several videos 4K and execution of things such as Word, books, and iMovie.

    Geography-Easy access to the internet anywhere, possibility to draw diagrams and just to run applications etc and be good at watching documentaries, etc.

    Mathematics - internet access and video on good quality, easily be able to write notes and information.

    So which one should I buy? Please can you help me

    Given your needs, a MacBook Pro seems to be more appropriate.

  • Connection of the Macbook Pro 2016 to 2 cinema screens

    As the title says, I have a Macbook Pro (model 2016) and 2 cinema screens. My understanding is that while the Thunderbolt screens have an option of Garland, movie screens are not.

    Is it possible to connect a second display of cinema to my Macbook Pro? Any help would be appreciated.

    What MacBook Pro you have?  There is no 2016 MacBook Pro.
