How can I stop the default "Moxilla Firefox Start Page" video display?
By default 'Moxilla Firefox Start Page' has recently begun to show a video simulating an old arcade game.
I want a Spartan static default start page with simple search functions.
In part because the video is blocking the remote office. But also because even if the video is slightly amusing for the first 10 seconds, after that it's just an annoying distraction.A solution that turns off all the video up to active manually would be good.
Otherwise, I could give up on the thread of Mozilla. The old static start page is available in the form of file static I could download and then set as the start page? Average I would go next to the dissemination of messages Moxilla would send more than page, but that would be better than putting in place with the current page.- Type of topic: config in the address bar and press ENTER.
- Accept the warning, press the big button labeled "" I'll be careful, I promise! ».
- In the search box, paste browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl
- In the search results, double-click browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl to open the dialog box enter the string value.

- Then type Subject: support in the address bar and press ENTER.
- Click the view file button. Opens in a window of Windows Explorer with your profile folder. In this window, open the storage folder, then the persistent subfolder.
- Then open Firefox to output with the profile folder.

How can I make Mozilla Firefox Start Page use Google search instead of Aol search?
A few months ago the Mozilla Firefox Start Page has suddenly started using Aol instead of Google search when I used the search bar. I don't remember if I did anything on PURPOSE or something when it happened, but on the navigation bar, my search engine is always Google... I really want to use Google instead of Aol search, and I don't want to change my home page?
Change of the topic: Home search engine to Google.
Firefox button > Web Developer-> Notepad.
Copy and paste this script into Notepad > then click on run > runjavascript:{localStorage["search-engine"]="{\"name\":\"Google\",\"searchUrl\":\"http://www.google.com/search?q=_searchTerms_&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a\"}";void(0);}

I reinstalled Firefox and somehow, I lost all that I see is toolbars, tabs "Firefox" and a 'Firefox Start Page', butdon can't get the next line to enter the adresse_web.
I had a few other toolbars superfluous up there a deleted them.

Press "Alt" then view > toolbars and tick any missing toolbar.
You can make Firefox 6.0.2 look to Firefox 3.6. *, see numbered items 1-10 of the next topic difficulty Firefox 4.0 UI toolbar, problems (make Firefox 4.0 to 8.0, resemble 3.6). If you make changes, you must be aware of what has changed and what it takes to use changed or missing features.

When I click the Mozilla icon on my desktop, a mozilla firefox start page developed that has NO mozilla button to click and access the characters, story, options, etc. Also the entire page shifts automatically down a bit to only show that google question box and no address bar. Also, there was once a place where I could click on pages more accessible, but that disappeared a few weeks before. I have a HP computer and that you never know what will look like the start page.
Make sure that you run not Firefox mode full screen (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: Ctrl + Shift + F).
If you are in full screen view then hover over with the mouse upward to make the bar appear Navigation and tab bar.
You can click the maximize button in the upper right to leave the mode full screen or empty space of a right-click on a toolbar and use "exit full screen" or press F11. -
When I open mozilla, the Mozilla Firefox Start Page tab comes with box of google in the middle of the page. No sign of internet access, nothing to, click on, no buttons previous/next, etc.

There seems to be a MAJOR problem (blocking/memory leak) in "subject: House", also known as start up Firefox, 26.0 Firefox Page, Windows!
seen on:
-Windows 7 x 64 machine with 12 GB of RAM and high performance CPU (core i7-920)
-Comments Machine virtual WinXP SP3 (in Oracle VirtualBox) running on the same computer
-Intel Atom D525 netbook with 4 GB of RAM, running Win7 x 64None of these machines are connected through Sync or something like that. The Firefox instance on the virtual machine is a fresh install / clean.
The problem:
-100% of cpu usage for 10 seconds, (util in XP) memory usage goes up to 1.7 GB
-If "subject: House" is actually the Firefox Start Page, it blocks the computer at startup of Firefox for 10 seconds
-If "subject: House" isn't the Firefox Start Page, startup is fine - BUT if I press the "home" on the toolbar button it loads "on: House" which causes the same question once againSounds that there is a problem with one of the code snippets that are responsible. I've seen several reports on this issue.
You can set the browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl pref an empty string on the subject: the page of config to disable loading (new) checked to see if that helps.
You can open the topic: config page through the address barYou must remove the ' storage\moz-security-about + origin "folder in the folder of Firefox to delete already profile stored clips.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
- Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: see file (Linux: open the directory;) Mac: View in the Finder)

How to remove the Firefox Start Page?
Whenever I open Firefox newly put back, it opens the 'Mozilla Firefox Start Page' as well as my home page in a 2nd tab. I do not use Google. I don't want it on my browser session.
Have you checked for many home pages?
- https://support.mozilla.com/kb/How+to+set+the+home+page - Firefox supports several home pages separated by ' |' symbol
Versions of Firefox 4 + use a new build-in home page named Subject: House with a Google search bar on this issue (no internet access required for the loading of this page).
What about: home page only shows a few clips and has a button to restore the previous session, as appropriate. -
FireFox always starts in the FireFox start page no matter what I do
I went through all the forums I find and tried everything suggested, but I still can't get FireFox to open to about: blank. I went through the subject: config and changed the start page repeatedly in the Options section and deleted a user.js file, but it's a no-go. Whenever I start FF I get the FF start page. Spybot and MalwareBytes didn't report any problems. I am at a total loss, why this is happening.

I can't get rid of the Firefox start page even if I continue to put in my own home page.
Suddenly, earlier today, the Firefox start page appears when I open Firefox. I tried several times to return to my own homepage through TOOLS, OPTIONS or by drag-and - drop. Whenever I get close and reopen, it comes back to its own Start Page for Firefox. I don't want to, I want my own hpmepage.
Hey Hey,
Try the following:
(1) go to Subject: config (type in the address bar).
(2) enter.
(3) search browser.startup.homepage.
(4) this variable controls what page is loaded when you start Firefox.
If its value is Subject: Home, you can change this value on the site that you want to load at startup. If not, try this:
Citing cor - el:

Have you checked the target line in the properties of the desktop Firefox shortcut?
What is the start setting?
Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time" "Show my home page" "Show a blank page"

To change this Web site, it opens when you open a new tab, do the same thing but with browser.newtab.url.

In the afternoon of August 24, I lost a feature on my Start Page of Mozilla Firefox and I can't understand how to get it back. It is the Google search box in the middle of the page. Previously, when I want to do a search, for example Amazon, I must type the letter 'A', and because I had typed "Amazon" in this area of research before, a drop down menu alphabetical would come with "Amazon" in it. I could then click on this word without having to type the rest of it. This option no longer works.
I did an update of Adobe Reader that Friday morning, so I thought that maybe why it happened. I did a system restore, and brings the system back to Tuesday, August 21. That did not help.
I ran CCleaner and cleaned the registry also. Oddly enough, I found that just after that I have this and then open a Mozilla Firefox Start Page, the alphabetical drop-down list feature is back in the center of the search for once, bar a single search. After that he went again. I'm going in and do just CCleaner (no cleaning required registry) and the same thing happens... the functionality is there for a search only.
I went and made sure all my Add-ons/Plug-ins are up-to-date. I also ran a full scan of the system, but no problem came.
I am computer illiterate, so please bear with me. I don't know if the things that I tried would have helped or not.
I have Windows 7 and Firefox 15.0.1
I appreciate any help you can provide.
It worked! I went in "Troubleshooting information" and click on "Reset Firefox" that solved the problem. Thank you very much.

My Task Manager window has no title bar
My Task Manager window has no title bar (it's usually blue) and nothing underneath, except for applications that run on the page. It gives me at least to go to any other page. I usually use Bill P Studios "WinPatrol" to close the Task Manager.
"double-click the empty space in the border" and the task manager should return to normal. TaurArian [MVP] 2005-2010 - Update Services

This problem began only after I've upgraded to the latest version of Firefox.
Hi Doug,.
Sorry about that. It might be this time your home page and the Firefox start page are defined as your home page.
Here's how to reset your home page:
- Open your home page and close other tabs
- Click on the
menu button and click on Preferences
- In the Preferences window, click on general
- Click the use current Pages button
I hope this will fix things. Let us know if it works!
