• Firefox Sync has restored after a mysterious Win8.1 'no - system restore' by ~ 1 month; addons lost and bookmarks in this period.

  Situation quite messy/weird here. I woke up this morning to find that my Win8.1 was reduced to a 1 month whose state of my Firefox Sync State. Bookmarks seemed to be updated but not the series of modules. I clicked the sync button in the hope it would refresh things on the last saved state to my e-mail last night, but he churned through and then my favorites, it was missing the last 1 month.   Hello. I can't synchronize my old Surface Pro 2 on my new Surface Pro 3 Firefox.
  Both are running windows 8.1. Firefox sync OK for over a year on my Surface 2 OK but I lost the password.

  On SP2, I updated FF, deleted the old account synchronization and set up a new sync account. SP3, I have implemented the same account.
  When I connect to the sync SP3 account, the message "synchronization will begin momentarily" displays but nothing happens.

  Following suggestions from the forum, I made these changes both SP2 and SP3.
  1. disconnect, then reconnect to synchronize.
  2 delete the signedInUser.json file in the Firefox profile folder closed and possibly delete the folder of armor as well.
  3 remove and re-create the account FxA. at https://accounts.firefox.com/settings

  I also reinstalled FF on SP3. Same message, but used to synchronize.
  Appreciate any suggestions.

  Offspring again: problem solved!
  Pending a response I connected again to Sync on SP2 and SP3. Same message "Sync" momentarily but no synchronization.
  Then I noticed the menu bar missing on SP3 FF. While fixing that I found your Q & a on how to fix corrupted toolbar - go to Menu/customize and click on "restore default settings".
  Who has accompanied me through the beginning of FF upward. I chose FF as my default again BUT this time on the next step that I choose to use Firefox NOT Internet Explorer. (on my FF 1st installation I chose it is because the choice of FF produces a message that IE cannot complete installation).
  Makes synchronization of SP3 immediately synchronized with SP2!
  Trusting that this hotfix helps anyone with the same issue.

  I wanted to update my Firefox Sync account from the old to the new version. Unfortunately, the login page does not load on my laptop. On my Android devices, everything works fine, so I could already put in place the new account from there, I just can not connect to my new account sync on my laptop. • Firefox Sync, two desktops computers and an android

  I currently have a Galaxy S5 (Android OS) and your desktop running Windows 7. The two devices sync properly. I now have another desktop computer and I would like to sync as well. On the primary computer. I go to the synchronization options and select manage. I get to the page manage account. https://accounts.Firefox.com/settings On this page, it shows that I am connected and gives me two options. Change my password or delete the account. There are no options to pair a device, get a security code or do something else that these two options. If I go to a desktop computer that has not been synchronized and I select the sync option, then I have already an account, it gives me the codes to pair a device but as I said, I have no pair option the main computer. If I select I don't have a camera with me, I have an option to connect you with an account and a password, but she wants too, then a recovery key that even once, I don't have the option to recover. At this point, it seems that synch can connect two devices. I studied the issues and extensively used search engines. Most keep responses pointing to the same items on how to synchronize the devices and the instructions never apply to this particular situation.   Firefox 29 and later have a new synchronization version that uses an account of Firefox and use only the name and the password and no longer use a sync (recovery) separated key (the key of synchronization is derived automatically the Firefox account password).

• Firefox Sync does not work for Tablet Android Nexus 10.

  Firefox Sync works for 2 PCs, but does not work for an Android tablet. It is said, that the tablet was connected successfully, I checked the bookmarks and history options to be synchronized and or bookmarks, or history of the browser has not been updated on my tablet.

  At a time where sharing or the sync'ing information is so important, the current Firefox sync service is a shameful disaster. What makes this worse again, is your persistent refusal to get correctly sorted.

  Obvious as it appears your Twitter stream, this has happened since April, 2013.

  Still, expect mobile devices to adopt Firefox OS. Yet you can't even manage your current structure of reliable synchronization.

  Chrome sync'ing works very well and easily between my computer laptop and Android devices. It is also much simpler to implement.

  I can't believe that you are unable to prevent the blade from Firefox. Enough dreaming of new solutions, until you sort the current mess known as Sync.

  I have Firefox sync on multiple devices and they all tell me that Firefox Sync is not working due to maintenance of the server. But the status page shows the servers are on the rise. Log files I see that it's just bookmark synchronization that fails, tabs, history etc. work fine. Here's an excerpt from my journal:

• Cannot register for Firefox Sync

  I tried to register for Firefox sync, but whenever I start to enter a valid e-mail address I get an error message saying that it is an "incorrect email address. The error will appear as soon as I start to enter the first character. I was not able to get to the @ symbol before the displayed error.

  Also, tried various emails different but same problem.

  Could not find anyone else having this problem, it's just me?

  Anyone has any ideas on this?

• Firefox Sync gave a new facility with no priority of settings or default on an established instance

  I created Firefox on a new Windows 10 PC setup and activated my account Firefox Sync on this instance.
  When I got back to my regular desktop PC, I find that Firefox has acquired the new PC settings rather than on the new PC acquire the established PC settings.

  I was expecting the opposite to happen.

  Hey there! I tried to set up Firefox sync. Remove the .mozilla folder in my home directory synchronization does not work yet to reinstall Firefox several times. I tried to use Firefox 41.02 and 42.0.
  The sync connection is successful and Firefox tries to sync (blue circle), but nothing happens. When you go to about: preferences #sync, then to 'Manage', it takes a while to load before you get an "unexpected error".

  I had a quick glance and I don't see whatever it is that I was sure would work. I don't want to suggest something that would not work or (even worse) break your copy of Firefox.

  That said, Firefox for Android is an ongoing project, and it's something they might want to consider. I feed it to the team so that they can consider for the future.
