Firefox V30 doesn't create new tabs. 10.9.3 OSX
I'm not able to open a new tab.
The '+' to the right of the tab changes color when I click on it, but no new tab appears.
By selecting the command "T" does not create a new tab.
I can't get new tabs to appear in spawning these as an option within an existing page that opens new content in a new window.
Have you been able to identify the extension that is causing this problem for you?
We have seen reports that some community toolbars are causing this issue.
You should disable or uninstall the faulty extension.

Let firefox allow page open a new tab
When I do something on a page that triggers a new page to open firefox does not open. How can I stop this from happening?
If you are sure that the site is secure and will not harm your computer, you can add an exception for the Firefox popups blocker to allow new tabs and new windows to open.
For more information about adding an exception for the popup blocker, please see the settings section of the blocker in this Mozilla support article:

Firefox won't open a new tab on my browser - the option is there, but when I press nothing happens? I have checked all of my options, but couldn't find anything wrong?
Hello, it seems that you run a very outdated version of firefox & old plugins - this is a serious security risk, because there have been dozens of corrected critical vulnerabilities from firefox 3.6 was released (it was more than two years ago).
You must do the following as soon as possible:
- Download and install the latest version of firefox from getfirefox.com
- Check your plugins to https://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/ & update all those which are obsolete
- You can also remove all the toolbars you have installed, because they can cause problems. in firefox, go to tools > addons > extensions and uninstall Yahoo! toolbar, motor driven, Radio TV 2.1 Community Toolbar and "Ask Toolbar". then you can launch the searchreset extension to restore the search parameters which leads crushed...
- do a full scan of your system with your security software

In previous versions of Firefox, when I open a new empty tab by CTRL-T or by clicking on the 'more' button on the tab bar, Firefox would focus on the new tab. This is not the case with Firefox 11, but I liked this behavior and want to get it back.
It seems to be different from opening a link in a new tab, which, at least for me, opened without getting the focus (I deselected the option to immediately go to the preferences of some time back, but the new tab behavior remained). I searched through the preferences and have played with the options in the tab, but empty came. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thank you!
As far as I can tell, it is still the default behavior and is not affected by preferences. Is one of your extensions may cause this problem. Go to Firefox > customize > addons and try to disable tabs in impact or the behavior tab.

In the old version of Firefox, when I opened a new tab, firefox remember and displays previous tabs open when I click on the + to the new tab. This display last has shown several places I visited and I could automatically click it to bring up this last point of view. In this function, I could go to one of my last 6 views quite easily and make it appear one of them as a shortcut.

Firefox does not open a new tab page, when I click on the small + firefox does not respanw, but if I use right mouse botton -> tab double as it opens a new tab how can I solve this?
Uninstall the toolbar Ask and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask and Firefox toolbar that prevents the opening of new tabs.
There are a few places to check for the Ask toolbar:
- Check the control panel Windows for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
- Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

Firefox does not open a new tab
Firefox has stopped to let me open a new tab. If I click on the sign more, press Ctrl-T, or go to file > new tab, nothing happens. The only way that will open a new tab is if I click on a link in an email, it opens the link in a new tab. I use tabs frequently and it is very annoying to have to go get an email with a link just so I can open a tab. It doesn't matter if I only have a single or several tabs open. I have not installed another thing that Firefox and Windows updates (I have Windows 7). I am running Firefox 24.0 but the problem started with the earlier version.
Try Firefox Safe mode to see how it works there.
A way of solving problems, which disables most of the modules.
The problems of Firefox using Firefox SafeMode- You can open the mode without failure of Firefox 15.0 + by pressing the SHIFT key when you use the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
- Or use the Help menu option, click restart with the disabled... modules while Firefox is running.
To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the shortcut of Firefox (without the Shift key) to open it again.
If it's good in Firefox Safe mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one.

Or it could be caused by hardware acceleration. When find you what is causing that, please let us know. It might help others who have this problem.

None of the methods to create a new tab works. I try ctrl t, by clicking on the button under the new tab and new tab file and none of these work.
The Ask toolbar is originally only in versions of Firefox 3.6.13 +. Uninstall this extension.

- Check the control panel Windows for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4

Using Ubuntu Firefox Version 39. Just upgraded and it has a new feature of TILES that appears when I try to do a 'new tab', how it freezes the system. He tells me that I can turn it off by clicking on a symbol that at one point I was able to click on it but was not able to find what it was that I should turn off. Is there another way to disable this feature struck dead, since I can't use Firefox at all in these circumstances. Help, please. Thank you (cannot share data because it comes from another computer)
Before I got this response, I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled. I went through the center of software this time instead of doing manually. Luckily it kept all my settings and is now works better than ever. Recommend doing this if you have the same problem. Thank you for your help.

Firefox crashes when you open new tab
Crash-ID: bp-681f1751-fc5b-4f14-a30b-f93ed2150407
I tried:
Clean install (with the removal of C:prog... \Mozilla)
Uninstallation and removal of extensions
Firefox restarted in safe mode without addons/extensions.
Uninstalling/updating flash/adobeCan I start firefox, but when I press on the "+" to open a new tab Firefox closes and the ' Mozilla Crash report ' window opens.
It seems that firefox it self can open a tab. For example, when I do a new installation, Firefox opens with 2 tabs. But when I want to open one that it breaks down and Firefox stops. Its really weird because I've never run this kind of problem before and I don't remember installing anything new until this problem appeared.
What is the setting of the new tab page?
You can check the browser.newtab.url pref on the topic: config page.
You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue.See this article on the page tab (topic: newtab):

Firefox won't open a new tab, open a new window for any link.
New tab will not open both when you are trying to do by clicking "x" in the tabbar or file > > new tab.
Thank youStart Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).
- Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.

Change the default color of Firefox opening links in a new tab
I use stylish addon for Firefox with a dark default css. I also changed the default window colors in the Windows registry. This changed the subject: white page to a dark color. But when I open a link in a new tab before the page is loaded, Firefox displays a blank page with a white background. I wonder how to change the white color to another.
