Firefox will download some new messages. Hang and eventually say no new messages. Run again and several messages will download and mess up once again.

This occurred shortly after I cleaned and removed many old emails. The reason why I did, is that the system was really slow download of messages.

Shortly after he'd say I had 300 messages download a random number. 1,50,200 etc then stops. Saying: no new messages.

My server provider is ATT Uverse. I checked the mail server, change to the last settings best suited for the field sbcglobal.net . Problem is still there.

I set up Outlook on my computer for the first time. Outlook works perfectly. Thunderbird does not work.

I first noticed problems a couple of weeks. At worse after you have cleaned the old emails end of last week.

I have compacted all folders and rebuilds the index. I tried safe mode worked a second time try same problem.

Stop MCaFee did not help ether

  • 16, Firefox, I reinstalled about 6 times, hangs and crashes when you try to load the first page on my new laptop windows 7.

On occasion, the program will load a window to say "Familysearch.com" but hang for awhile when a subroutine is called. Lately, I can't seem to get the first loaded window. Reported no accidents called at all.

I just did the reset option, and it does not solve the problem. Actually did you 'fix' a couple of other times.

  • When Firefox will support Norton Identity Safe once again, really

Same issue as everyone else for the past two years. With each release, we beg to have the Identity Safe working again. We get no answer in response. Firefox is up to 50 version and still does not support Identity Safe as before. If you can not handle inserting the passwords like IE can, why should I trust Mozilla you can protect them? No need to answer until you have set. Firefox used to be a good program. There is nothing I want in Firefox that is more important than the ability to manage passwords. Nothing. So now I uninstall Firefox again.

I've read dozens of reviews. Nothing definitive. I don't mean anecdotal cases of a version that works. I can't even understand why Norton was a stand-alone product and an extension. Some users claim that one or the other (not obvious to me) doesn't seem to work. I wouldn't be writing questions if it worked for me. As I said in my post to you, unless there is a final solution (do not have to depend on some obscure answer in a Forum), there is no interest to my use Firefox. I hate IE, but at least I get offered password.

  • How can I make Firefox look like the new toolbar update?

I installed Firefox 4 to a new computer running Windows XP, but I still have the old look and layout of Firefox. I want to use the new look with all in a drop down menu bar.

  • New Firefox, will not save the homepage and will open and display all add-ons every time!

Okay - years old now, I used Firefox ONLY - he had the best extensions and modules from any other browser out there. Add to that, it is safe and very fast. This is my default browser.

This week I logged on my DeviantArt site and odd ads began to appear in the lower corners left and right of the browser, unlike what I'd never seen before. Add to that, they were very inappropriate. So I guess something was wrong and went through three, as in 3, programs to find out if I got "bugs" the origin of the problems. And of course, there was a kind of nasty bug in Firefox, causing all sorts of questions.

So, following the suggestions to fix, as well as the suggestions on here, I uninstalled Firefox (21) and then reinstalled the new version, 23. At first, I thought, ' Wow, this is really very fast! When I opened Firefox it does not go to my home page, he went to the Firefox start page, as well as the opening of the tabs for EACH add-on and extension!

Yes, open tools, Options and reset the home page of my homepage, https://www.google.com

Simple and something I've done before. I'm a geek and have worked on my own additions. Set up my home page, has been working in Firefox and went to youtube to download a video it would not! So went to DLhelper, read their comments, changed one of the strings and voila! No problems!

So I thought it was fixed and I was happy. It was last night. This morning, I start the computer and the first thing we do is to open Firefox. And what happens? Oh, Yes, that's right, NOTHING THAT I wanted TO! It's back to the start page of Firefox, and it opens tabs for EACH SINGLE module!

Holy carp, tired now. So I research of 8 this morning until about an hour ago, so a little more than 5 hours, that I keep trying to fix it based on instructions of Firefox. Go to topic: config, work on channels, change the info from the home page, etc. Save it. Return to tools, Options, and there is my home page. Close Firefox and open and what the heck? Once again, back to where it was, opening, as if I just downloaded this browser. Now, I spent literally HOURS trying to solve this problem and I am so frustrated that I'm almost ready to uninstall it! My one complaint is that I've looked everywhere to try to find this same problem and it does not. Is true, I am the only one having this weird problem?

Hello, I have a problem with Mozilla Firefox 14 and now also Firefox 15. When I click on .html files on my desktop, firefox will open a new window twice. Where is the problem? Thank you

That may be a problem with the DDE.

Try to undo and redo Firefox as default browser.

Make a different browser like IE browser by default and then let Firefox do it again.

I have Firefox 8.0.1 and since the update to it, some sites, I need to go so that Firefox will not accept certificates which is accepted in the previous version. I can not get the permanent exception and must uncheck permanent

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

    • Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: opens showing the file

It is not usually necessary to create an exception for the certificates.

Possible causes are that a server does not send the full (intermediate) certificate chain or self signed certificates.

Which is usually caused by a lack of unpacking the directive (< em: unzip > true < / em: unzip >) in the file install.rdf to this extension.

  • I use Windows 7 and since my last update to firefox 8, the browser seems to hang up when I open a new tab from a link. This happens when I go to a story or even when I go to the window of your support.

I have tried disabling all my Add-ons, but it does make a difference. I ran chrome alongside Firefox and you can open all the tabs very well, and I can look at Firefox turn just the icon of treatment and never load. I can hit the tab reload a bunch of times and sometimes part of the page is displayed. If I hit the tab refresh then its treatment sometimes it will bring to the top of the page.

One possible cause is a problem with the places.sqlite file that stores the bookmarks and history.

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.

See "basic troubleshooting: a new profile:

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "tools > Modules > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If this new profile works then you can transfer files from the old profile to the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.

  • my new version of firefox will not save my user name and passwords - why?

My version before I updated to 4 saved all my usernames and passwords. Since the update to version 4, it records only a few. I checked that I'm not running in privacy mode and have checked remember passwords and have a master password in the Security section. I have a laptop with Windows Vista.

Some sites like PayPal, Yahoo, Windows Live, and bank sites use autocomplete = "off" to prevent Firefox to save and fill in the name and the password.

If a site uses autocomplete = "off" then look at this article for a bookmarklet to remove the attribute autocomplete and Firefox will provide store name and password.

If a Web site creates the login via JavaScript form then the password manager does not offer to store both passwords (Bug 518516).

      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

They can be retrieved easily unless they have been backed up on an external device! See back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox.

Please report to say if this helped you!

  • Cannot set up Firefox sync on desktop - no recovery key and will not let me connect to get

I downloaded Firefox for my new android phone and wanted to sync my office with the mobile app. When I went it said I had an account already set in place, but since I don't remember the information about this I just ended up changing the password so I could identify and then deleted the entire account.

I have advanced and set up a new sync account, but he never gave me a recovery key. I don't think not that anything like that, but then the failure of the initial synchronization and I got an error message indicating the user name or password is incorrect.

This happened twice and every time I went back and was over by resetting the password or deleting the whole account. But whenever I have go through the steps of creating another account never gave me a recovery key.

I looked around and I tried following the steps to get a recovery key, but I don't have the ability to manage my account (perhaps because it was never entirely created and never went through an initial synchronization?) and I get an error message indicating the user name and password is incorrect, whenever I try to go through the steps to reset the recovery key. This is despite the fact that I can connect with the same credentials on the page of Firefox sync - for some reason any he just does not accept the normal browser sync tab.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium and 13.0.1 Firefox version. No matter what help you can give me would be most appreciated as this has been driving me crazy for the last hours I'm trying to work through this.

    Hello

Please see this for more details about the recovery key. You can also try to start over again using these steps (three parts): https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-set-up-firefox-sync

If you are able to connect to the synchronization site which means the account still exists. In this case, you can try to delete the account, wait a few minutes and then try to configure the synchronization as described in the previous link.

  • Firefox don't forget homepage, theme addons and some settings every time I start my laptop. I tried a lot of difficulties, but none work?

This issue started happening just after the update to Firefox 42, I think. What happens is that whenever my laptop Windows 10 boots and I start Firefox (and sometimes after the signing and to my Windows profile), the browser acts as if she just updated, and it also checks the compatibility of the addon (see image 1). I get the "Firefox + Windows 10 = perfect set" page and my home page has been reset to "search.domaincentar.com" [see image 2], although it shows a Google logo. My theme and some various browser settings are gone too.

I have change all these settings back to how they were, but this happens every time that I reboot without fail. Here are the things I've tried:
    Refresh/reset Firefox.
    Create a new Firefox profile.
Erase a prefs.js and other possible guilty files in my current profile. (no present user.js)
    Completely reinstall Firefox.
Upgrade to the beta version of Firefox 43.
    Delete the folder %AppData% Mozilla.

.. .and different combinations of the foregoing. The simple fact is that even after a clean FULL of Firefox on my laptop, including the removal of all my info to a separate location profile, this continues to be. The homepage being reset to a weird search page looks like adware or malware, but I was not able to detect anything via scan or look in my addons. I'm really perplexed and at your mercy.

Make a check of malware with several malware scanning of programs on the Windows computer.

Please scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program.
All of these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before scanning.

Alternatively, you can write a check for an infection rootkit TDSSKiller.
