Firefox won't open in Windows 7.

Firefox has stopped working in my computer. I've uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times now, and it does not load upward. Many articles online teach me to clean the cookies, etc. but I can't do anything if the program does not load. It does not even appear as a Manager in my Windows Task Manager. Please notify.

Well, Firefox is running again! I did uninstall Chrome! I uninstalled FFox so and then restarted the computer. Before installing Chrome again, I downloaded FFox and it is up and purr! I reinstalled Chrome and have had no problems so far (and never did before). The only reason why I decided to uninstall chrome was because of the error message I received when I typed the prompt in cmd as suggested by @guigs2.
Thanks again and good navigation!

    • do a full scan of your system with your security software

  • 30 Firefox does not open new windows maximized

I use Firefox on 2 machines, one at home and one at work. I have updated all the two to 30 of Firefox.

My machine at home, with Windows 7 opens new windows maximized.

However, my work machine, will not open new windows maximized. It will open them only to the ultimate size of the memory window. I tried to delete localstore.rdf and this does not resolve the issue.

The window opens expanded on 28 of Firefox on the same machine.

  • I like Firefox, I got Chrome as Firefox won't open Javascript for hulu. I've tried everything.

I get an error saying my browser or security does not javascript open when I try to get on hule. I have tried everything to implement uninstall reinstall Firefox, clear the cache and cookies and make sure that javascript is enabled, uninstall and reinstall java. I have no problem using Chrome. I prefer Firefox, but I have no choice.

Fortunately, Firefox didn't need the Java plugin to run JavaScript. It is built in.

If JavaScript has been disabled, many sites Internet would shout about it. If you see this problem on Hulu, the likely problem has some other cause, such as some selective filtering by an add-on or external security/privacy software.

Many users have recently increasingly aware of privacy and two changes made to their cookie settings or installed extensions that stop a few information to reach Web sites. While this reduces followed, it can also cause certain features of the site to break.

As test, try to use Hulu in Mode without failure of Firefox in a private browsing window. This initiative will allow to bypass the cookie settings restrictive, as well as other behaviors extensions filtering, so whether those who are a factor.

You can restart Firefox in Mode safe help

Help > restart with disabled modules

In the small dialog box that should appear, click 'Start mode safe' (not Reset)

Then open a window of incognito using either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + p
    • File menu > new private window
    • the orange Firefox button > new private window

In this window, try Hulu. Any difference?

  • Firefox won't open the shockwave flash files because there are 2 types?

Firefox does not open some swf files when I say that this is the cause. However, http://edmullen.net/test/poopboy.swf works fine.

I looked in my Options-> Applications menu and found this http://i.imgur.com/kPVOHdE.png

So it has got 2 different types of SWFs to meet him. I can't tell the top affliate background is the same way.

I tried to uninstall the plugin. This removed the bottom and meant that the poopboy.swf I also linked didn't work in the same way, however, put it back, I was just back to the drawing board.

I want to add that these particular .swf files that I'm running worked yesterday so file corruption is not the problem, especially since I went and all the redownloaded.

These two SWF entries are on different MIME types that first one appears to be damaged or at least unusual. and probably the second (application/x-shockwave-flash) should be there.

You can rename (or delete) the file mimeTypes.rdf in the profile folder of Firefox to reset all the actions file.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.
  • Firefox does not open on Windows 10 no matter what I try. Is there something that can solve this problem?

I tried to contact support Windows 10 and they were useless. It was working fine all day and does not open all of a sudden.

This sounds like a file in your Firefox profile may be damaged or not valid. To check if this is the case, you will need to create a secondary Firefox profile and test to see if you can open Firefox with this profile.

This can be done using the Manager of profiles for Firefox which can be downloaded from Mozilla's FTP server. There is no installation required, the program is contained in a ZIP file. Simply extract the ZIP file and run the executable file inside.

How to create a second profile Firefox, please see this support article:

Note: Do not delete the old profile because if it is damaged, you may be able to recover your bookmarks and settings. For more information on how to proceed, please read the article of the recovery of data from an old profile .
