Firepower - High CPU and latency

Hey

IM under firepower with a 5555 X. The FireSIGHT console to manage using.

When sending one of our internet connected interface through the CPU power of fire leaped up 25-30% on the SAA and the latency rises with 40-150ms.

I need to know what is the cause, Cisco licenses is expensive and I didn't know HW would pose a problem.

The problem is worse when traffic increases. When you reach 600-700mpbs the ASA thus removes the packages.

Thanx.

You are very lucky if you can push 600-700Mbit/s through the FP module in your X-5555.
With functionality STROKE and IPS, it is evaluated to 450Mbit/s, yet further with the URL and the amp on.

If you need the functionality of the ASA, you should go with either:

5585-X SSP EP 10/40

SSP 5585-X 40

5585-X SSP EP 20/60

  • Acer aspire problem vn7 - 591 g nitro with high CPU and GPU temperatures

Hello! I recently noticed some issues (lower fps) performance when you play semi demanding like cs and Overwatch, although pretty much the lowest settings. I went to download CPUID (software to monitor your hardware) to check my temperature and I noticed that I reach 90 low to high (depending on the game) when I play.

I thought it might be dust or something inside so I removed the keyboard of the laptop part and used some canned air to remove any dust I could reach (without removing the motherboard). I also managed to get your hands on a laptop computer, cooling rack. The problem is that all these efforts really solved the problem. Just a slightly lower temperature on the GPU and about the same on the processors. I'm starting to wonder if it could be the thermal paste, which need to be replaced? I had the computer for a little over a year now. Does anyone else know similar problems? Help or advice would be appriecated.

    Hello

The CPU and the GPU are designed to operate at these temperatures. If they are too high they will be the butterfly, and if even this does not then at some point they just instantly shut down to avoid any possible damage.

Changing thermal paste may improve performance, but you will only get lower temperatures. Your CPU/GPU will probably run at higher clock speeds and will not throttle, but temperatures will be in the same range. But in my experience if you can change the thermal paste, you should.

Also, you can use the laptop fan control that has the configuration for 591g and it may further increase the fan speed. I think, from the factory, the maximum speed of the fan is just about 60-70%.

  • High CPU and RAM usage - laptop Dell w / Vista

    Hello

I have read several posts and tried many suggested fixes, but none seems to work so far.

Hardware: Dell Inspiron 1525, with 3G of RAM

Operating system: Vista Home Edition Premium, SP2

Problem: CPU high (~ 50%) and RAM usage (~ 50%) when ideling.  I did both a "clean boot" and boot into "Safe Mode with network" and neither seemed to make much difference and certainly has not resolved the problem.

When I go to the 'task manager' is a process "svchost.exe" system which is the eater of resources.  I can move the tab "services", but I'm not really sure how to use the information presented.  This is where I'm stuck, as I said, I read a few other posts with similar (but not identical/software) and I've tried a few things but do not seem to be able to solve the problem.  Please let me know what the next logical steps are at this address.  Thank you.

  • High CPU and disk utilization slows down the response

Two years, Pavilion dv7 - 2273ca running Windows 7 64-bit; Norton 360; IE8; Thunderbird; Microsoft Office 2007.  Tend to have several windows open at the same time.  For automatic updates

Almost every day the laptop enters a period of very high CPU usage; often accompanied by high disk usage.  The response time of the laptop is compromised to the point that I often have to stop using it until activity slows.  I try to use the resource monitor, but do not know enough to say if the legitimate operations or something wrong.  Norton frequently shows svchost.exe and iexplore.exe as a heavy user of the CPU.

Is this a normal behavior?  If not - any advice on how to identify the culprit?

On the advice of a HP technician, I ran check disk, and then restore the system in August.  end hard drive.  System Restore did not difference in performance.

Most of the processor have more of the base, there will be a CPU 0 and 1 for the dual core processors. Different colors are different carrots 0 and 1

If you sort as I proposed that the highest CPU usage will float to the top, you have to watch it when your cpu pork starts to act up.

The colors of disc are reading and writing, its hard disk is read or write data on the trays.

A high utilization of the processor or disk can be considered normal at times, but should not go on constantly.and by dragging down the performance of the system

Lets say you run a video in your browser, the CPU usage rises, running other programs can do the same thing.

The disk activity can be high at times also, depends on what you do on the PC, but shouldn't be high all the time.

  • Windows Update causes high CPU AND not let me install Windows 10

Windows 7 update has several issues:

1 Windows Update Service causes the CPU usage high - CPU usually works 50% or more with a single SVCHOST.exe running.  I click with the right button on the SVCHOST entry in Task Manager-processes and saw all the services that SVCHOST is still running.  One at a time, I stopped and restarted them.  Finally, when I stopped the Windows Update service, the cpu immediately fell to almost nothing.  I rebooted and tested several times, and each time, it was Windows Update service that was causing the high CPU.

    2. Windows 10 Upgrade Advisor says I could upgrade to Windows 10, and get the icon Windows 10 is in the toolbar.  But it has failed to install several times.  Now, after stopping and restarting the service of updating (and I checked, it is started), the window get Windows 10 rises, is empty and goes.

    3. I ran the Update Diagnostic and got 1 error:

    Windows Update error 0 x 80070003(2016-04-04-T-04_56_09P)

the Details of the Diag Windows Update window said:

    RootCause: RC-DataStore

    Error code: 0 x 80070003

    4. I tried to launch the 'Fixit' for update, but it did nothing.

    5. I tried to update Windows Update WindowsUpdateAgent30 - x 64 .exe Agent,

but it fails with this message:

"Windows Update Agent Installer has met a fatal error"

    6. when I try to start Windows Update-check for updates, it displays the dialog box "check for Updates" and activity indicator green runs and runs and runs for more than 10 minutes but nothing happens.  And when I check the view update history, it shows no updates, even though I know that I've run a LOT of updates in recent years.

    7. I thought to reinstall Windows 7.  I went to download from Microsoft, and when repair installation it activated my key it says that it wasn't a retail version, so check with the supplier (in this case HP).  I checked with HP and they said that this machine was is no longer supported.

    8. on the way I've renamed the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution-Windows SDOLD, force it to create a new (probably why it does not find the old updates).  IT did not help.

So it seems to me this machine is expandable to 10 Windows (it meets the specifications and the Advisor to update Windows-10 said yes and installed the toolbar).  But something is wrong, probably with Windows Updater, and now nothing will be update or upgrade.  And I can't get a new copy of Windows 7.

So, any thoughts?  I'm out of ideas.

  • High CPU and lag/freezing until the DVD tray is open

A very strange thing that happens shortly after I burn or rip a CD.  After the burn/rip is finished and the tray ejects, I remove the CD and close the drawer.  Soon after, the computer's processor runs high 80 to 100% and everthing lags / freezes.  I pop open the drawer of the DVD and everthing goes back to normal.  I discovered this fix after days of troubleshooting.  Whats could be wrong?  Windows 7 64-bit SP1 / Asus U56E / Windows Media Player / installed at the factory of Matshita DVD / Intel Core i5 to 2.3 GHz/6 GB of RAM / thank you.

    Hello

Have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

Try the following and see if it helps.

    Method 1:

Try to clear the list pane button after burning disc and see if it helps.

    Method 2:

Uninstall and reinstall the drivers from CD/DVD drive and check if it helps.

Update a hardware driver that is not working properly: http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-US/Windows7/Update-a-Driver-for-Hardware-that-isn ' t-work properly

    Method 3:

Change user settings for Windows Media files and check.

Open Media Player > file > library management.
Select each library (video, music, photos, tv recorded [If you]) and check the paths that it manages, and make sure that it is not too close to the root of the C: drive

Example: It should be likec:\users\ \Music and c:\users\Public\Music, no c:\users as they will cause the whole directory to re tree - index over and over (when you surf the web, or change files in your profile).

  • (Suddenly) Gets slow SQL queries, caused by high CPU and buffer high

    Hi all

We lack a database of Oracle 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.11 - 64 bit Production.

As a scheduled task, we lack a query:

    SELECT *

    DE (

    SELECT T. * , LAG( DATE_FROM, 1, NULL ) OVER (PARTITION BY OUR_ID ORDER BY DATE_TO ) AS PREV_FROM, LAG( DATE_TO, 1, NULL ) OVER (PARTITION BY OUR_ID ORDER BY DATE_ FROM ) AS PREV_TO, LEAD(DATE_FROM, 1, NULL ) OVER (PARTITION BY OUR_ID ORDER BY DATE_FROM) AS NEXT_FROM

    DE STOCK_A T

    OUR_ID = :B1 )

    WHERE DATE_FROM = : B2

This query has run every minute for 3 years. The size of the STOCK_A table has increased some over the years: thousands of records go, no record out.

Since last Sunday, we have huge performance problems. The query had a runtime of 0.02 seconds. Now it's up to 1.4 seconds. Since it must deal with thousands of lines, this considerable increase in execution time is problematic.

When this query parsing, we discovered that the CPU has increased enormously. About 20% of the 90% of the runtime execution time. This is probably caused by the enormous increase of receives it from the buffer. Of thousands to millions. Given that we have not made any changes to the database instance, we're stuck as to how this performance problem suddenly appeared. It's literally from one day to the next.

Someone at - it experience with this problem? Any help would be much appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Lupker

I took a little longer than expected, but we have finally solved the problem.

He seems to have been a bug in the application currently running on the database. A process in the application began to write many lines in the table as before. This behavior was expected, but what was not expected was the volume of 'same' records that were written in the table. So finally, we analyzed the data and indexes, and of course, the effectiveness of the index was strongly fell because of the unique, indexed values. Once we cleaned the duplicate lines and rebuild the indexes, we got our previous performance back after removal of the bug in the application of course. Simple enough, but we were so focused on a vice of the Oracle that we have overlooked the possibility that data could have been the cause of our problems. Who it was.

    Problem solved!

Thanks to all those responding to this thread. Your help is very appreciated.

  • Unresolved problems of high processor and Windows Update

I have the same problems as many other people and it seems that Microsoft does not care their fixation.

    (1) Windows Update - updates runs for always (in days) without ever finding updates and uses 100% of CPU. I have updates installed until released in February 2016, since then, impossible to get more.

    (2) high CPU and memory for iphlpsvc. What is - why do I need?

Running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 under VirtualBox on a Mac.

And no, I won't upgrade to Windows 10 (not that I could get updates even if I did!)

Feel tempted to turn off Windows updates forever, everything they do is screw up my system.

    Andrea

Seems good. Your Windows 7 is up to date. Please post again on the Microsoft Community Forums if you need help.

  • Windows 7 update - slow download, svchost high CPU usage

I have a problem downloading by using the Windows Update application. This problem started after January 2016.  In the past, the request of update seems to work without the use of the svchost high CPU and with a reasonable download time.  There is usually a delay until the download has started, but then they ended quickly.

I have 4 computers: 3 running Windows 7 Pro (CPU - Intel dual, i5 & i7) and 1 running Windows 7 Home (Intel i3).  If the problem is not related to the CPU hardware as best I can tell.

My update setting is 'check for updates but let me download and install ".

The Windows Update process includes 3 steps:
    1. identify the important and recommended updates for your computer.
    2. the selection and download updates.
    3. the creation of the restore point and of the installation, the selected updates.

My problem is step 2, download the selected updates.  This happens on all 4 systems, and I do not expect a download to be this CPU load.  The download time is too long on all systems 4.

My online search for answers has been frustrating, but several posts said search for viruses, malware and Trojans.  I ran Malwarebytes (free), Windows Defender, Norton Security and ESET (online) on systems and no objects are found.

My most recent experience involved my Lenovo 7847 system (Intel dual core). Monday, May 23, I checked the updates and there were 15 updates important and 3 optional updates listed.

After reviewing the updates, I chose the 15 updates and started the download process.  The svchost.exe that is associated with the update happened to 45-60% CPU usage, update status showed no size or % finished and the task manager - network or explore the process did not show any activity download for a long time.

Finally, after about an hour, the update showed the download size and the % downloaded.  Svchost usage remains high during the time of whole download.  Once the download is complete, the restore point was created and updates have been installed, who also took some time (but it would be I/O CPU & Drive dependent).

The download status has not changed during most of the time that the download process is running.  The Task Manager and process explore both show very little network activity up to that very near the end of the download procedure. There is therefore no real indication that the process is blocked or just turn very slowly.   It almost seems that the Microsoft servers are overloaded, they delay the download for some reason, or the process svchost and sub-process fail to create good handshake with the server for download.

    My Questions:

    1. Why is svchost usage so high when nothing seems to happen?
    2. Why does take an hour or more to download the updates?  These aren't the huge file sizes, and this attempt to update was almost 2 weeks after Patch Tuesday, then Microsoft servers should not be overloaded.
    3. Why is the situation unchanged for so long during the download process?
    4. most important, what can I do to change this situation?

Thanks in advance for your help.

My 'update problem' seems to have changed.  Checking updates takes a lot of CPU resources and a lot of time.

We will leave well enough alone for now. [It took 3-4 hours for MU download/install updates of June on my Win7 boxes].

But please bookmark this thread. If the behavior persists in July - and especially in August, respond to this thread instead of starting a new. Good luck!

  • High CPU, RAM HIGH Server 2.0

    Hi all

I have VMWARE server installed 2.0 on windows server 2003, this machine has 32 gigabytes of RAM with 2 processors to dual-core (3.2 ghz) xeon.  I have 4 virtual machines will each activity 4 gigs of RAM a piece (assigned amount).  The machines are servers to test for our developers and get barely affected.  My problem is that when I reboot a virutal machine for like 15 minutes the machine freezes and I can't do anything with this guest operating system.  It is very annoying espically when you test something and need to reboot constantly.   I have serached through the forums, but since "high CPU" and "high memory" is if common is very difficult to sort through all this.

    Hello

In my view, that a disk file is preserved to shadow ram invited.  I think remember me a post for some time there is a parameter that can be changed to stop this, but it can reduce the reliability as a result of an accident.

Try to reduce the amount of ram on your comments and see if the boot process is faster.  You are starting the prompt or wake of a bet into hibernation?  If it's a State of hibernation, it touches the hard drive because the memory is reloaded, if several guests start at the same time it can have a signoficant impact.  He also the effects of the weather in the judgment of the host, so all guests are on hinernate to clodedown.
