12.1.3 regeneration of forms taking very high CPU and time

I've recently updated 12.1.2 to 12.1.3 (+ RPC4) and a month of back 10.2.0.5 to 11.2.0.4 (+ CPP) on Solaris 10 64-bit with 2 nodes Applin and separate DB Node with 16cpu and 64 GB of ram with sufficient swap and @12 Go of LMSS.  While patches to upgrade and then the CPU is very high continuous - idle 0 UC 99.2 on DB Server user and, even if the workers are taken as 16 instead of 32 - default.

More than 18 hours are taken and still only 1,500 jobs are completed and 2000 + remaining. With the help of adadmin with options for all products.

Appreciate your help to accelerate this process.

There is little improvement with your solution, but below the solution was really helpful: Oracle Applications DBA: Compilation of form against a 11g, database crashes or takes a very long time [880660.1 ID]

Thank you

This is the configuration I have.

    John

Well, the point to keep in mind is that overall CPU utilization will not higher with direct mode with a local server. In fact, it will be a little weaker because of the much higher efficientcy of direct mode compared to client/server mode.

The usual rules apply here; You must decide on the maximum use of your machine (normally one trying to limit it to)<=60% for="" the="" most="" optimal="">

Then you need to see how your workload uses the CPU. with TimesTen there is no blocking operation within the database for a single application thread can, if it does not crash on all external events such as queue of messages, etc. I/O, usually consume a whole CPU core (a large volume of work in the process of transformation). If he asks you to this nature then you want to limit the number of concurrent threads to the smallest reasonable number. Assuming that the machine is running just the application and TimesTen and nothing else and that you wish to leave a carrot free for activity of DB o/s and the background (for example, journal of hot flashes and checkponting) then optimal throughput and response time will be reached with three concurrent threads hitting the database. You can run course with wires more than that but the flow will not be increased (in fact it will decrease somehwat due claim etc.) and response times will certainly increase. For this application profile you certainly wouldn't want to use more than 8 simultaneous maximum son.

At the other extreme is an application that has multiple concurrent threads, but where each thread spends much of its time waiting for some work to do and runs only makes for a short period of work process then returns to the wait. You can use several more concurrent threads than the hearts of processors for this application profiel. The optimal number will be determined by the specific workload, load CPU it generates and your maximum target of use of the system.

None of this is really specific TimesTen. The main differences that TimesTen brings all this are:

    1. the workload of database now works on the same machine as the application rather than on a server separate from the DB so that it consumes resources on the application computer.

    2. in general, database interactions will result not in any idle time from a point of view CPU usage (as a consequence of (1) above).

Ideally, your request will be designed and implemented so that the number of concurrent threads can be controlled as a parameter tunbable to allow you to adjust the workload generated by the application to the specific environment in which it runs.

  • Very high CPU usage in svchost during playback of an event in a major newspaper of the events using WMI

    Hello

I have a very high utilization of the processor in the process 'svchost.exe LocalServiceNetworkRestricted' during playback of an event in an event log in Windows 2008 64 SP02 using local or remote WMI.  The same happens using Wbemtest or C++ WMI code.  The use of WbemTest, "Open forum" (identical to one the GetObject of WMI API) read just one of recent events in the event log:

Win32_NTLogEvent.logfile = "application", recordNumber = 2615657 (in this case, it was the id since the last event in the very large to the Application event log)

takes 3/4 seconds consuming thant plus 50% of the monitored computer CPU.  This only occurs when the event log is very large (in my case 1 million records), the event log contains about 10000 events just fine.

The problem is that I read the complete paper in a remote program and this product CPU usage charge too much CPU to the monitored computer.  I do not read the newspaper of the events one by one, but I'm using WQL queries but I do some GetObjects and the peformance is really terrible.

Any idea what to change or search?

    Best regards

computer laptop is brand-new... personally, I think it's whenever the centrino adapt his frequncies but is this correct? Thanks in advance...

Another issue is that when I remove the battery then its ok and there is no sound... but when the battery is attached then we here... sometimes hardly hear you sometimes you hear one is very annoying... (I speak an ambient silence)

something out of place... Hard disks are lying be absolute silence?

(I'm sorry to give my anguish but the laptop is brand new and too much money for not worrying if something goes wrong)

    Hello

It is not easy to say what he can be. It's very confusing that this noise appears only when the battery is attached. HARD drive is not placed in the top left. If you check the underside of your laptop you can find coverage of HARD drive on another side than the battery.

If you work in ambient absolute silence, you can probably hear all the sounds that can be done when the laptop is running. It must be clear to you that it's not quite quiet laptop and to do some noise. If you think that it can be a serious problem the best way is to contact the Service partner. Your laptop is a new, and they can check.

  • Port Replicator III + very high CPU when you move the usb mouse only in W2k

Tecra M2 with a port replicator III +.

It is set to dual boot XP and Windows 2000 (yes I know it is well a bit but I have a bunch of stuff installed in win2k it is difficult to find these days).

XP is very good at 100%, but with win 2000 if I use my * USB mouse * on the * ports port replicator and waggle the mouse around - the * CPU * jumps from 0 to * 70 + % * use (System process that seems indicatates like IRQ problem). If I plug the mouse into the ports of the laptop (when the laptop is connected) - it's fine, no more than 5% cpu usage. It's a microsoft basic mouse. I really believe that this is a problem of usb any, because the cpu jumps a little if I type quickly on my usb keyboard (only a few %). It comes with the usb ports on all the Replicator.

Any ideas? I don't really want to plug my mouse in the morning because it beats a little interest to have a docking station in the first place! I have installed mobile extensions. All other aspects of the replicator are fine

    Martin

Huh it will not be easy to find the right explanation for this.
At the moment when Tecra M2 has been offered on the market as Replicator port compatible Toshiba offered Toshiba Advanced Port Replicator III (no +) and at that time both supported in operating system has been tested with it.

Toshiba later designed Toshiba Advanced Port Replicator III + and confirmed the compatibility with Tecra M2, but obviously with more recent WXP (at this time).
So now, you've been following situation: you use most recent Replicator port, but with much older operating system so I assume that there may be a compatibility issue with W2K.

I can't imagine use you so often with W2K and if so, may not be so problematic to connect the mouse directly on the cell s USB port.

Sorry, but I don't think that there is nothing you can do about it.

  • Very high CPU utilization

    Hi all

We have several standards work of the Disqualification created to standardize the data from the source systems. Among all, there are 2 positions causing the CPU usage greater than 97% throughout the work. For the jobs of rest with the same logic, but the source systems different data do not take this as the CPU usage.

Run these 2 high CPU utilization causing positions for 50 k records and also around 1 lakh separately but still the CPU usage remains the same. that is more than 97%. Are there other specific job setting or settings that causes this problem? For the rest, the jobs CPU usage is average only 55%. Performance wise, it is not accepted and PT test sign off is blocked because of this.

    Appreciate your suggestions! @

    Thank you

    Amol 971-505343978

    Hello

Why do you think the high utilization of the processor is a bad thing? On the contrary, Disqualification treat this work as soon as possible. While other jobs [that run at 55%] are i/o bound and probably run a lot faster if you were to set the I/O bottleneck.

    Kind regards

  • Very high CPU usage

I don't know how it was before, but last year I noticed that my CPU usage is always near 100% when running flash player - any browser or the Web site or the quality of the video is. I had 8 64-bit Windows and now I have a new install of Windows 10. Always the same. I always have the latest version of the player. My hardware is suite - I think not that this old man for flash video: ASUS M4A88T - V EVO, AMD Athlon II X 2 250, Rev. C3, 16 GB of RAM.

    Thanks for any help.

It seems that we are not able to take advantage of your graphics hardware for video decoding and rendering, so we will fall back to software that happens on the CPU.  It is also possible that the specific content you are viewing is written in a way that does not use hardware acceleration.  (For example, the last time I checked, Hulu and shake both fall in this bucket.)

I would start by troubleshooting video guide, paying special attention to the section on research the latest drivers for your graphics hardware:

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Flash-Player/KB/video-playback-issues.html

If you're still stuck, please follow the instructions in the guide on the provision of the dxdiag report.  Win10 is relatively new, it is quite possible that there are not good drivers available.

Some basic information on how to reproduce the problem, as a direct URL to a video of specific problem, would also be useful.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

How to install a device driver in Vista Device Manager

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

  • Change a secure interactive PDF form without regenerating the form?

I have a client who needs for me to make a minor change to a form of the PDF in interactive of passwords, that we have created for her. I have the password, of course, but Adobe Acrobat let me know the password without first saving the form as a copy. This, however, strips all the interactivity of the form. I don't want to have to redo all the fields to make this minor change, and I guess that I missed the obvious method to enter the password.

So, how to disable the password without wipe interactive fields so that I can make the change then save the form again with intact security and interactive form fields?

Save as copy, edit the PDF file, then extend features in Adobe Reader (under Advanced) all your form fields should reappear.
