Fireworks, Photoshop, and Illustrator

Hello

I don't know whether to show this in the Fireworks, Photoshop, Illustrator forums or. Horrible design of two other forums and the fact that no matter how it was referenced, I could not find a button to add a topic (and Yes, I was connected) brought me here.

The new replacement for Studio, CS3 Web Premium suite includes Photoshop and Illustrator. I know that both Fireworks and Illustrator for vector graphics, but other then that, what is the difference between the three? Why should I use all three when I could get with one - is there a specific use for each? Who could be better to create a Web site model?

Thank you
Dylan

PS: Has there created tutorials on the software suite available somewhere, as the Studio explores those Adobe?

Yes, the old Adobe forums are pretty bad, aren't they? :) These forums are quite slow, but - another reason some people prefer to use the sync all newsgroups around instead.

No problem to post here, just don't be surprised if everyone says fire Fireworks is the best. ;) In fact, each tool is unique, the best at what they do.

Everybody will tell you this, but it's really true: the best way is to download the trial of three and give them a spin. What kind of things you want to do? Choose something and try to do it in three, you will know what is best for the task quite quickly. Do not throw just a few random shapes and text around, that won't really do you give a good idea of how a real project would come down for you. Choose a practical project and do in each of the three.

That being said, here is a summary of all three, in my opinion:

Illustrator: Vector application, little or no Advanced frame mounting bracket. Curve learning of the powerful but very high for most people. Illustrator is printing and is rarely used for the work of the web, if you can. It has many features specific impression which are meaningless for the web and sometimes confusing and misleading for web designers.

Photoshop: Advanced raster, vector editing program little support (sometimes critical as having no "real" vector support). Powerful image manipulation capabilities, has an average learning curve, but many gaps of efficiency according to me, making it frustrating for many beginners. Photoshop was originally for printing (and still is) but has developed some decent web features oriented (export, slices, etc.). However, it's dueling print/web feature set can get in the way both when you are dealing with a medium or the other.

Fireworks: hybrid vector and raster Editor, exclusively for web design (not printed). All the basic features of edition of vector and raster editing combined in a very coherent, transparent environment, but found the more advanced features of vector in Illustrator or more advanced raster in Photoshop. Pretty easy learning curve. Fireworks is designed specifically for the web and has been since the beginning, has so many features focused on the web, making very targeted for web design and overall very intuitive for most web designers. For example, Fireworks is the only application of the three that has support for multi-page documents, which is really useful for web design.

Hope that helps! I am sure that you will get more answers. :)
