  You can do it, but you don't have to install cs3 in order to install your upgrade of cs5.5.

  You can launch the installation of cs5.5 and you will be asked your cs5.5 serial number.  Setup will ask you then select the product (in a drop-down list) calling.  Select cs3 and you will be prompted for the serial number for cs3.

  Enter the correct number at the right time and to proceed with the installation.

  If you no longer need these programs on your old laptop, disable (help > deactivate) before uninstalling so that you can keep your two activations.

  For the purpose of asset management, I want to be able to account for the serial numbers for Linux servers in VCM.  I played with it a bit and this is the best I could come up with to execute a remote command that translates a file created with the serial number and then pick up with a filter of personalized information.  Is there a better way to do it? In particular, I would like to be able to jump the output of the command into a file and having to ask that. If I can get out by running the command that would be great as well.

  It is complex and is not 'visible' to the end user.

  But, VCM can create custom information types that can be used to run a command and then to analyze the output of command directly without you need to execute commands remotely and create a file to analyze.

  It is good to stick to the solution you came up with that.

  I recently bought CS5.5 Master Collection, students and teachers.  I was able to grasp the information required on the website to get the serial numbers.  The resulting screen gave three: Master Collection, Premiere Pro and AfterEffects.

  I'm not sure my current computer has a graphic ability to accommodate CS5.5 versions of either and I would like to install the CS4 versions (I'm away from home and my home office is CERTAINLY not at the height; I plan on upgrading this computer to be compatible because it is also my only RAID configuration).  My question is: are the serial numbers provided via the Web site for the versions CS4 Premiere Pro and AfterEffects, or are those needed to install versions CS5.5 (i.e. both programs need separate serial number entry the rest of CS5.5)?  I know previous discussions in the forums deal with a set of 32-bit support, but my current computer is running Win7 64 bit - I'm just not sure the graphics capability. you had to buy this laptop in a pinch in my previous died suddenly a few weeks ago.

  I have not installed anything yet; waiting to make sure that I understand what soap operas go to which versions before jumping in and potentially mess up the installation.  I am currently running CS3 and plan on completely uninstall before installing CS5.5.

  Everything in the suite CS5.5 would run under a unique serial number, that of MC you received...  The other keys would be for the separate 32 bit CS4 versions of AE and PP.  And you can use them all up totwo of your computers.

  Finally, you don't have to uninstall CS3 if you want - it can run side-by-side with CS4/CS5 if it helps, or you may uninstall it if you want.  If you remove it, you can use the on creative cleaning tool later, just in case.

I've already properly registered myself as a student with Adobe and gotten a serial number that triggers the Master Collection, but not apparently Acrobat Pro, which is on a separate disk. I searched through all the papers provided with the box, but so far no luck.

  Yes, 24 digits for Acrobat on mine.

  I have a sixth sticker on the box, it has a number of eight-digit on that followed by the text: DVS/A.STAM.5.0.WIN,GEN,WWE,ACT. I think that it is only the product code for the CS5 Master Collection for Windows.

  The five serial numbers in the same order that the above are 24, 34, 34, 24 and 24 digits.
