Fixing DVD CD player

Hello. My CD/DVD drive disappeared several weeks ago and don't know exactly when they disappeared. I've been through deleting upper and lower filters like most places, then restart, and it did not help. I created a new reg file and merged and who brought records back, but they have not shown that a CD was in. They have since disapperared again, and I have no upper or lower filters. I tried the system restore, but I always get an error code because it "cannot access the file. I have Windows 7 and a Dell Inspiron 1750.

Although Device Manager indicates that the drivers are OK, there may be more updated ones available on the web site of the manufacturer which, once installed may solve the problem.  I would check to see if there are not newer than those installed on your system and to upgrade (it can't hurt and it can solve the problem - and can even offer extra options that were not available before).  If iTunnes and post work say they are absent if Device Manager indicates that they are very well, then one of the two is false.  Given that you have problems with the unit, I would tend to believe that there may be a problem with the drivers despite that says Device Manager.

Did you check the link I provide on troubleshooting hardware?  If this isn't the case, it can offer some suggestios we have not looked at.

What is your Dell product label - I would check its configuration on the Dell site to see if it gives me clues about the problem.

In the meantime, you are in the Forums of Vista (and I tried to help anyway) so that you have a Windows7 system.  Maybe there's something differet about Windows7 which must be taken into account.  If the above does not help, I suggest transfer you your question in the equipment and devices Forum of Windows7 Forums at: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7hardware/threads where questions of Windows7 and hardware specialists will be more than happy to help you with your problem.

I hope this helps.

Good luck and best wishes!

    Here's what I have:

SlimType DVD C DS24CZP ATA Device

    Windows Vista Home Basic

    Acer aspire 3680 series
    ------------------------------------------
    So here's my problem:

Recently, I put a DVD disc into the drive. Then, once I closed it, it started to turn, then what sounds like a sound signal, spining, beeps several times, and this will be repeated for a few minutes. Once it stopped, it does nothing. You can not even here it spining. No AutoPlay starts, none Open box, nothing at ALL. The computer doesn't even recognize that there is a DVD in there.

So, I advanced and found in the Device Manager. The picture showed it was a disc with a CD on top (representing is a DVD/CD player) and in front of it, there was a «!» So I opened the information for it. Here's what he said:

"This device cannot start. (Code 10) »

When I try to make windows to search for a solution, it came not with something. I tried to update the driver; no effect. Tried neutralizing him and he the reactivation. No effect. Tried unistalling and restart my computer. When he tries to install it, it fails.

So now, I did everything I know. Does anyone know how to fix this without having to replace the drive itself? Or should I replace it?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Satellite L300-H02: DVD/CD player don't work no-error message 39

    Hi all

I just bought a Toshiba laptop, Vista Premium Edition family and after a massive Windows Update to download, DVD-CD player didn't work. Error message 39, driver damaged or missing. The driver isn't missing, so it must be corrupted. Am savvy with regedit on the dismantling of upper and lower filters in the registry, except haven action t deleting again, because he doesn t seem to be a upper filter listed. Only the lower filter.

The information also indicates that you may lose functionality in certain programs such as CD recording programs. In this scenario, you must reinstall the affected programs. which is a problem, because Vista etc. has already been loaded and any other software provided with the laptop.

I have a little chicken to go ahead and remove the lower filter registry entry, not because there are no upper entry to remove, I have heard some people cannot write to CD after removing the filters in the registry of m.

    Hello

    ·          Were there any changes made to your computer before this problem?

Reinstall and update the DVD playback software. Visit the Web site of the software vendor for more information about the update of the software to the latest version.

  • After burning DVD torrent, download the last 30 minutes of the film is cut off during playback on a DVD DVIX player

I've been downloading movies and burn them on DVD for awhile. Recently, after burning them and play them on a DVD DVIX player, they stop with 30 minutes left film and light up in the next movie on the disc. When played on my computer via Windows Media throughout the film is there but not sound.

    Anyone have any ideas?

If the movie file is complete... I don't know why the Divx player
would fail to play to the end. Have you tried burning one
file on a DVD just to see if he could play all the way to the end?

DivX player is also compatible Xvid? You can use the
utility to determine if your videos are free Xvid:

You don't have to install it... just unzip the file and
    GSpot.exe left click to launch.

As for the sound issue on your computer... maybe you need

If it just happened all of a sudden, you can restore the registry files of the system in working order by following option n ° 1 on this page.  If this does not work, you can be reasonably sure that the configuration of the system is not the problem and start looking into other possibilities as a broken drive or a bad connection inside the cable.
