Flash 7 getURL fails in IE7

I have an old Flash file which must be published for Flash player 7. I am experience a total failure of the communication with the JavaScript in IE7 when using getURL() and am not sure how to solve this problem.

A call to a JavaScript function in the page fails. Even a simple call to get an alert fails:
btn.onRelease = function() {}
getURL ("javascript:alert('you_clicked_me')");
}

I use the AC_RunActiveContent.js to incorporate *.swf (via export as HTML).

This does not work in Firefox 2. How many others have encountered this? What are the solutions, workarounds or alternatives?

It is now more a problem for me. I finally decided to download and run the Flash player uninstaller and then reinstall Flash. For me, which did the trick. So I need a player corrupted on my machine.

Frustrating, however, that I only thought of it after a few hours to pull teeth, hair and other things.

  • Flash Player v19 fails install ActiveX on IE v11 (Win7 Ultimate)

I was able to successfully play videos likely requiring Flash Player (e.g., Facebook) in my browser Internet Explorer 11 for quite some time now.  A few weeks ago they stopped play, and IE displays the error message that Flash Player is required for this kind of videos.  I tried downloading and installing Flash Player on adobe.com several times, whenever the installation program launches, downloads at 100% and the product to install but still fails with the error "control ActiveX cannot be registered.

I tried the following installation scenarios:

    (1) download and run the independent activex control install package from adobe

    (2) turn off my Symantec/Norton antivirus for download & install

    (3) to open the Task Manager and ending the iexplorer.exe process even accuse after closing IE

    (4) do not open Task Manager, to continue to operate after the closing of the application THE process iexplorer.exe (2 of them).

    (5) made sure that IE 'ActiveX filtering' is turned OFF (that is to say, unchecked)

    Hi eeeehaw,

    This link worked.  Thank you.

As I suspected, it is a problem of permission with the installation.  The issue started around Nov 11?  We published the latest version of Flash Player 11 Nov and installation, through substantive update, seems to be successful that day (not), however, I see many failed attempts to install Flash Player for IE after that.  Today the most recent attempt fails due to permissions errors.  The FAQ How can I fix Windows with Flash Player permission problems? contains information on how to solve this problem that runs a script to reset the permissions on various files and Flash Player registry entries.  If this does not work, you can try a less restrictive script of the microscope according to this tech note https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/968003.  This technical note makes reference to Windows updates, the error (0x80070005) is the same returned on the file Flash Player prevents the installation.

  • Adobe Flash Player v18 fails to register in IE11, what else to try?

I couldn't get Flash 18 to install without him saying "Failed to save" at the end and no player installed.

    Here is what I tried:

Insured without THE lit during the installation of Flash

Off "Run ActiveX controls" in Internet Explorer

Run the uninstall program to remove the Flash Player, then deleted files recommended with residual Flash files in them.

    Any other ideas?

I am slot as Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

Why is this so capricious Adobe software to install?

    Terry

    Maria,

I did what you say with the check now button.  For the number 1 item.   He gave a big red X and reported

"Sorry, Flash Player is either not installed or not enabled.

Please you obtained in step 2 "

    The box shows

    'Your Flash Version not installed'.

    "Your Internet Explorer browser name'"

«Your operating system (OS) Windows (Windows 7).»

Step 2 download the latest version of Flash.

I went back to programs and features, and it shows even 18 Flash installed.

I used your first link that you added, and he showed that the Flash is activated.

I went on the second link and concluded that the Active X filtering was running, and I turned it off.

I checked several videos that I thought would give me trouble, but they all played.

Thanks for your perseverance to help me get this resolved.

    Here are a few thoughts:

    1. at least until that Adobe gets a more robust setup for Flash process, it would be good that the information that you used to help me with the problem (including the lack of permissions) could be made available in the same place on Adobe's Web site.  When I tried to find out why this problem occurred, there was much other implications of "unable to save", as well as many suggestions on how to solve this problem.  I did many of these things to try to solve the problem using the tips from other users.  By consolidating what works and what does not on an Adobe website, perhaps with a wire guided diagnosis or flow diagram, it would have helped a lot. After all of these possible recommendations could have leave to enable ActiveX filtering.

    2. when the test for the presence of Flash, the returned message should be more robust.  I copied above, the audit program said that Flash was not installed.  But we both know that it has BEEN installed.  So either the software control status must check more possibilities and report that them correctly, or at least detail the opportunities correctly.  In this case, we know that check reported the wrong conclusion when he said that Flash was not installed.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Terry

  • Flash player installation fails on Yosemite/Mavericks

I could not update or install flash player for some time now.  It started on the Mavericks several months ago, when an update has failed, but I am now on Yosemite and the problem persists.  I tried many, many things on the forums apple and adobe for trying to get flash to install or update including starting in safe mode, remove the drive completely, flash Offline Installer and many others. I even spend about one hour with Apple in a chat session and another hour to a Genius Bar appointment - two technicians have been very knowledgeable but ultimately could not help.  I became convinced that something weird was messed up in my OSX installation so tonight, I reinstalled the operating system tries to solve this problem, but even that has not set.  The symptom is always the same - download fine, but little time in the installation phase fails.  The more useful info that I could get is running Setup directly via Terminal.

  • Flash player installation fails AGAIN on Win 7

Recently, I had discussed here a problem with the installation of Flash Player on Windows 7, 32-Bit, which was resolved by the help on this forum.

Now, I had a similar problem with 64-Bit of Windows 7 with Flash Player for Mozilla. Installation just told that he failed, without giving more details.

Following the advice I got in http://forums.adobe.com/message/3919367#3919367, I downloaded an installer explicitly http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/.

This site Web redirected me http://get.Adobe.com/flashplayer/ where I have downloaded http://aihdownload.adobe.com/bin/install_flashplayer11x64_mssd_aih.exe .

Running this program continued for about 20 minutes and eventually resulted in the error message: "Setup encountered errors: Actionlist not found."

What else can I do to install flash player?

  • Flash Builder - launch failed

    Hello

I am new to Flash Builder and Action Script so this may be something obvious to others...

Flash Builder is not re - generate swf and html files in the Bin-debug folder and therefore fails with the message "unable to launch. Here are the steps to reproduce the behavior:

    • Using Flash Builder 4 on Vista
    • create the folder NomMonProjet
    • File-> new-> ActionScriptProject (provide NomMonProjet)
    • Project-> build the project (creates html and swf files in bin-debug correctly)
    • Go to Flash Debug perspective and start the debugger; Browse the 'empty' OK code
    • Close project, close Flash Builder
    • Add the code AS
    • Open Flash Builder
    • Refresh (F5) file system
    • Project build
    • The debugger steps as if the FORMER Action Script code is in the file!
    • Project and build own workspace
    • All bin-debug files are deleted, but are NOT re-created.
    • Launching fails (they are a no files in the bin-debug folder)

I made sure that the ActionScript compiler settings are "checked" to generate wrappers, system restarted, looked at the process in Windows Task Manager, searched the web, but all to no avail. I am convinced that there must be something simple I'm missing preventing a good compilation of my project (unless there is a serious bug on a part of the Adobe...)

A big thank you to all those who care for help!

    Nick

  • Latest flash player installation fails in IE8/Win XP

I tried to install the latest version of Flash Player on my XP system for two days. Here is my system info:

Win = 32-bit Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3

Browser = Internet Explorer Version 8.0.6001.18702

Flash Player - one I used (recent but not a beta) has been uninstalled when I tried to install your latest version on your site in the usual way. After a few attempts to install, I downloaded and executed the Player uninstall program according to the instructions found on your site - Adobe® Flash® Player 10.1 software installation/uninstallation r53 - just to make sure I was doing a clean install. I also downloaded the latest version and it ran manually.

All attempts to install failed. I saw two different installers, BTW, and all two reported a failure but a reason and suggested to your troubleshooting page.

I went to the troubleshooting page, where I've tried everything, by the book.

More recent attempts produced the following message appears when you try to install on your site:

"The version of adobe flash player ActiveX that you are trying to install is not the most recent version. Please visit http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer_fr for the latest and most secure version. »

I went to this page, again without success. There is no Flash x components listed in my active browser objects.

I managed to install the latest version of the Shockwave Player (I tried, just to see if that would fail, but who succeeded).

I must add that I work from web using Flash 8, so it's also on my system, but I've ever run into a problem installing a newer Flash Player up to now. (And I've been using Flash since before Macromedia, when it was called FutureSplash.)

    Obviously, HELP!

It almost made me. Countless installs / uninstalls, Poirier, etc later, I finally found a solution that worked for me:

    http://kb2.Adobe.com/CPS/494/cpsid_49419.html

I hope this works for you, too!

A damaged Windows system registry or incorrect registry permissions settings may prevent you from installing Flash Player.

    Symptoms may include:

    • During installation, you see the error message "unable to install. For troubleshooting, please see: http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_19166. »
    • Your installation of Flash Player completes without error, but you cannot view Flash content in Internet Explorer.
    • Some sites tell you that you don't have the correct version of Flash Player, even if you have installed the latest version.
    • Some sites tell you to reinstall Flash Player, but after you do, you see the same message.

Permissions can be tricky, but in most cases, you can install and use Adobe Flash Player, if you are connected to a Windows administrator account. If you are unsure how to proceed, consult your system administrator or read the Windows documentation.

    System administrators

If you are a system administrator, see permissions for registry required to install Flash Player or update (TechNote tn_19148).

    Solution

Warning! By following the instructions below, you will modify the Windows system registry. A mistake could cause serious damage to the system, which may require you to reinstall your operating system.

If you are not comfortable editing the registry, get help from your system administrator or other COMPUTER professional.

If you choose to proceed, first back up your entire hard drive, and create a Windows System Restore Point.

Adobe Systems cannot be held responsible for any damages resulting from your following these instructions.

    1. Make sure that you are connected to a Windows administrator account. If you're not, you will not be able to use SubInACL.
    2. Download SubInACL from Microsoft Download Center.
    3. Follow the installation instructions. Make sure you only install SubInACL (subinacl.exe) to the directory C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools.
    4. Download the reset_fp10.zip file.
    5. Open the fp10.zip file and extract the reset_fp10.cmd file to the directory C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools\. Note that this file and SubInACL (subinacl.exe) must be in this directory.
    6. Double-click reset_fp10.cmd. A command window will open and SubInACL will run.
    7. Do not use the machine while SubInACL is running.
    8. After SubInACL is completed, you will see a prompt "Press any key to continue".
    9. Install Flash Player on the Flash Player download page.
    10. To verify that your installation was successful, see the about Flash Player page. At the top of the screen, you should see a message that says "Adobe Flash Player successfully installed."
