Flash Builder or Flash Professional?

Hey,.

Wondering your opinion that it is better to use? Flash Builder or Flash Professional?

Personally I want to drop profesiional flash and just keep developing in flash builder, but before I I want to know if I'll lose all the benefits or acquire and whether it is a good decision?

I can code everything in flash builder and love working in flash builder on office games Mobile Games environment AND sometimes.

So, what do you think I should do? What do you think.

Thank you

Flash builder is more restricted than the flash pro.  But if you do not use all of the flash pro design tools/timeline etc. and you are happy with flash builder, use.

  • Flash block Builder, Flash Professional CS6 save

    Hello

    I use Flash Builder 4.7 and Flash Professional CS6 game development. When I save a file action script in Flash Builder, it sometimes blocks Flash CS6. It happens several times a day and it's really annoying. I'm working on iMac with Mac OS X 10.9.1. I also checked that I have installed all available updates.

    Please tell me how to solve this problem,

    Concerning

    Here are some things that help me:

    • Open the Flash version I want to use to compile the project first
    • Stop automatically build the project and use Ctrl-B instead of this, so you are compiling just when it makes sense for you, rather than each change.
    • Active sharing libraries can cause outages during "update of assets", so avoid them if you can. If you really need them, open the file in Flash before you try to publish from FB.
  • Adobe Flash Professional creative Cloud (CC) to quit loses all the project build settings

    I am currently working on a project of iOS of Adobe AIR, targeting 3.7 SDK in Flash Professional CC running on Mac OS X 10.8.4.  If I leave out of the Flash application, reopen it, and then reopen my iOS project AIR, build together and publish settings are lost.  This includes the location of "output file", the publication settings 'target', all roads 'source' provided on the "Source path" tab under "settings ActionScript', all paths 'library' provided on the"Library path"tab under «Settings ActionScript»  I must go and reset these every time by hand after the relaunch of the Flash CC application.

    Anyone else having this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    The new update (version Flash Pro CC - November 2013) has a fix for this problem and is now available for download. This update of Flash CC will update your version of flash to 13.1.0.217. You can update the application Adobe Creative Cloud or Flash Pro CC help-> Update menu.

    The last number that you reported on the path of the output file has also been fixed internally but is not part of this update.

  • Workflow between Flash Professional and Flash Builder

    I am new to using Flash Builder as editor AS3 for Flash Professional projects.  I followed several tutorials on the workflow between the two but keep hitting a snag.

    Linking the .fla and the .as seems to work without any problem... the issue is when I try to "export for actionscript movieclip" in flash, then try to edit this movieclip using flash builder. Flash builder loads as expected, and the creation of a new actionscript class dialog appears.  All the appropriate data is filled in but the button is grey "Finish."  If I browse the default package, and then click OK it shows an error in the top of the dialog box saying "Super class flash.display.MovieClip cannot be resolved for the selected project."  This happens whenever I have enter 'flash.display.MovieClip' in the field of the superclass, when you create a new class or attempt to change the definition of class to a MovieClip in .fla library.  Why is it not recognize references to flash.display.MovieClip? Concidering the majority of my actionscripting will need to reference movieclips, this is a pretty big problem. No idea what could be casuing it... a google search has proved to be unnecessary.

    See you soon,.

    Matt

    Not sure what caused the problem, but he had something to do with the .fla

    After creating a new .fla and move all the existing movie clips on, it worked fine.

  • Using events QNX in the AIR for BB10 in Flash Professional 5.5

    I want to use the QNX events in my AIR for BB10 application in Flash Professional. As the playbook, am I supposed to add a few swc files in order to use the events I get compilation error?

    I want to use "CardCloseEvent", but it gives compile error.

    Thank you!

    No worries,

    GoTo file > settings Actionscript > library path

    Press on the +, then navigate to the DONKEY

    Note: If it does not allow you to add DONKEY - make a copy and rename it to SWF.  He worked for Flash Builder 4.5.

    For each ALBUM, you may need to click on it and press the I button and change it externally.

    I don't know how Flash Pro builds your packages well-, but put in right place.

  • Starling and Flash Professional

    Hello

    I bought the book "Starling game development Essentials" from PacktPub (by Juwal Bose) and I downloaded the code example.

    But the book describes only using Flash Builder and I use Flash Professional (CC). I've built several games using Flash Pro with AS3 that are in iTunes and I expect to learn how to use Starling code to improve performance.

    Not surprisingly, the samples do not work. First of all, nothing has worked, he was not related to the Starling so he found what he needed and I got loads of error can not find - this. So, I tried building an FLA for the demo of Chapter 1, set to day class to point to the ActionScript to demo, and I updated the path of the library to include the Starling. All can't find errors-, that are now gone, but now I get the error "Context3D is not available" in a big black box (as well as the Simulator window) when I try to run the demo.

    My machine is a MacBook Pro which is underway and I use Adobe CC, which is also common.

    Can I use the examples in this book on my installation (and if so, how)?

    I must point out that all the demos online that I can find to Starling using Flash Builder.

    Therefore, more generally, can I use Starling with Flash Professional (and if so, how)?

    If the answer is 'no' to the above questions, is there a book on Starling?

    Thanks in advance.

    I remembered something. Test iOS FLAs work with Starling, but make sure you have the Direct rendering mode and not automatically value.

  • Is it possible to update to Flash® Professional CS5 / Air to publish to iOS7?

    Hi all

    I'm pretty UN-knownledgeable in the air, but here's my question:

    I've been developing and prototyping an AS3 app for some time the publication of iOS for the iPhone OS Settings in Flash Professional CS5 and the test on my iPhone 4. However, since the update of iOS7, when my app works on my iPhone it just turns white. Too old a version of AIR, which is incompatible with iOS7? CS5 has AIR 2.0, and I went through the steps to try to replace and update with 3.9, if I can't find any tutorials or info on how to do anything prior to version CS5.5.

    Having exchanged a few files around getting Flash to recognize AIR 3.9, him better than I could get happen was for Flash to run the application in debug mode but close instantly.

    Anyway I can update CS5 to take in charge the publication of iOS7?

    Thank you

    Make just a file of commands like this and give it the same name as the swf file, you want to build... Make sure that you point to adt-correct path:

    Set p12 = "distribution_certificate.p12"

    Set p12pass = certpasshere

    Set provisioningprofile = "distribution_profile.mobileprovision"

    Define projectname = % ~ n0

    the set includes Images default icons - Landscape.png [email protected] =

    «"set extensions ="»

    ADT-package - target ipa-ad-hoc - stores pkcs12 - keystore p12 - storepass % p12pass %-provisioning - profile % provisioningprofile % rojectname%.ipa %projectname%-app.xml %projectname%.swf - extdir %%%d extensions includes %

  • CS3 and Flash Professional CC?

    After an hour of digging around the main site and search for these forums, I couldn't find the answer I'm looking for. A company that I do a request requires that I am learning CS3 for creating projects for their games. (I would be hired on as a writer, but the need to build my projects using the .fla and other provided by others.) I get everything I need now to start and one of the things that I try to understand and have apparently failed, is if Flash Professional CC can work on projects and record it in CS3. It should be able to open files that are already based in this language for re-written and the creation of new projects to download. All I could find was that it can treat CS6. Yes, I understand CS3 is older, but it's what they use. Is it possible, or I have to go buy a version of CS3 for a lot more then I really want at this stage.

    Flash CC will not be able to save a CS3 file as a CS3 file.

  • is it possible to use the 'Spinner' list in Flash professional?

    Can I import the componen 'list spinner' used in a Flash Professional project in Flash Builder?

    Flex and Flash Pro do not mix, different layers of the virtual machine. If you don't see it in the list by default controls CS6, no, you can not use Flash Pro. Only some components (spark) were converted from Flex to CS6.

    You should look into GPU acceleration components as feathersui.com.

  • Non - embedding fonts using AIR in Flash Professional 3.0 (for iOS Development)

    Hey there,

    We develop Plains AS3 projects (to compile) using Flash Professional and Flash Builder.

    Everything works well with the new 3.0 version of the AIR and performance is better than with AIR 2.6

    I followed this tutorial and similar use AIR instead of AIR 2.6 3.0:

    http://kb2.Adobe.com/CPS/908/cpsid_90810.html

    Unfortunately, today, we have seen a new show with embedding fonts. Using Flash Professional, himself or the Embed tag in the code itself works. We also see that the SWF size does not change when you add more than one font.

    Anyone has an idea where this problem may be caused? I think that how the fonts are embedded changed air 3.0 and it does not work with the 'replace AIR 2.6 with AIR X.Y thing'.

    Any help welcome.

    Best,

    Cedric

    Try the instructions at http://help.adobe.com/en_US/as3/iphone/WS789ea67d3e73a8b2-5b45bb17124b3295cc8-7ffd.html.

  • Action Script 3 CandlestickChart-(Flash Professional)

    http://help.Adobe.com/en_US/FlashPlatform/reference/ActionScript/3/MX/charts/CandlestickCh art.html

    The above link refers to the documentation for a class CandlestickChart. I would use it, but I never heard of him and I don't even understand the example. The first thing she says to do is import mx.charts, does not work. The CandlestickChart class does not exist even in Flash Professional?

    This class exists in the Flex library only. You must Flex SDK and, to my knowledge, that you need to do for although there are ways to get it free.

    In Flash CS5, you can use the Flex SDK kit for your applications, although I suggest that look you at Flash Builder or FlashDevelop.

  • Adobe Flash default editor opens with Flash Professional CS4 when I installed CS5?

    How can I change with what Flash Professional to open the fla files in Flash Builder? My Fla files are saved as version CS5, open them by default with CS5 when I double click on them, but still Flash Builder tries to open them with CS4? I couldn't find any simple switch for this, anyone?

    Also is there a quick way to publish a specific fla file in Flash Builder that I want to publish that one time not every time that I save, or I have to open it in Flash Professional and publish it?

    First of all read this, which tells you where your file associations (which editor/program opens)

    http://forums.Adobe.com/thread/615496

    Then, in your case, you will probably need to first remove the *.fla file type and then add it in. When you do so, you add the associate editor and choose CS5 (external program and look for the CS3 launch file).

    Let us know if it works for you.

  • Change the formatting of a TLFTextField declared in Flash Professional.

    I have a TLFTextField created in Flash Professional and I am trying to change his appearance through code in Flash Builder.

    I would like to keep all the rules of formatting already applied to the TLFTextField, unless I have specifically change them, however the following code:

    var format:TextFormat = textField.getTextFormat();
    format.align = TextFormatAlign.RIGHT;
    textField.defaultTextFormat = format;

    Produces an error at execution:

    RangeError: Property lineHeight value -2147483648 is out of range
         at flashx.textLayout.property::Property$/defaultErrorHandler()
         at flashx.textLayout.property::NumberOrPercentProperty/setHelper()
         at flashx.textLayout.formats::TextLayoutFormat/set lineHeight()
         at fl.text::TLFTextField/createTextLayoutFormat()[/Volumes/BuildDrive/Stage/Flash11_Main_485_Stage/main/authortool/Stage/tlfRuntime/fl/text/TLFTextField.as:2244]

    Anyone has any ideas on how to change the individual formatting properties on a TLFTextField without affecting these already?

    Looks like you'll need to create a function which affect the correct values by default for properties not assigned when you use tfltextfields IF you want to retrieve the original textformat.  However, if you just want to change some of the TextFormat properties, create a new instance of the textformat, affect the properties and assign the of your TextField defaulttextformat.
