• Classroom in a book - page 15, work plan tool to choose?

  It's my first lesson. Things went well until 15% 'Select tool plan in the tools Panel.  I looked until I'm blue in the face but can't find this icon (rectangular matrix with the square of blackened middle right).

• Flash - classroom in a book

  I'm learning Flash using the software Adobe Flash "classroom in a book" and I'm stumped. The book tells me to draw two rectangles that overlap for masking, but whenever I do it does not come out right. If I use only one, things are fine, until I need "free transform". I do not ask questions, but I have 7 hours in this chapter and I can't seem to make the tooling works for me.

  Try to separate the mask object. Select the image on the layer mask and CTRL B.

• DW CS3 Classroom in Book

  I am a beginner and working through exercises in the classroom in a book. Coince stuck at page 155, point 9.
  In the diaglog box "Insert tag Div", chose "insert: after the beginning of the tag" but the adjacent list shows that the "body" tag when the book tells me to choose the '< div id = wrapper >. I Redid the exercise 3 times now to make sure that I followed all the instructions correctly.
  
  Get pretty annoyed with it now! Someone else had this problem? All solutions?

• Cannot re-enable Flash CS3 on Mac new after Migration Wizard

  I recently purchased a new Mac MIni and used the Apple Migration Assistant to transfer all my existing files and applications to the new machine, including my copy of Flash CS3, I bought in 2009. I use the Mavericks on the new machine.

  I tried to open Flash CS3 Pro and he asks me to reactivate my software. He tells me I have 5 days to do and sent me to a screen of reactivation.

  I first tried to use the online tool to reactivate, but get the error message "unable to connect". I checked on another forum to test my connection to https from Adobe servers and managed to connect, but the reactivation process still does not work.

  I then tried the telephone reactivation process but the phone system says that my reactivation code doesn't have a sufficient amount of characters!

  I checked a forum that says I need to remove a line of text from a file "hosts" etc, but this file is locked and I can't change it.

  Another suggestion is to fix my permissions of the drive using disk utility. Nothing has changed.

  Then I tried to chat to Adobe tool to see if a tech could help and they sent me here.

  Anyone know how I can get this resolved?

• Apply the gradient to the text, cs5 as Classroom in a Book

  I need to create a title in a document, only one topic above.  I use Win7 32 bit and cs5 and the book, Classroom in a Book.

  I'm on page 310 where 'Of Mike Coffee' is the text tutorial.  I converted my text to path outlines, then grouped characters.  From there, however, the script (or I) seem to get lost.  Step 4 says "it's worth a white on black gradient.  Yes, he does.

  However, I want to start with a bright red, back to almost transparent, and I can't follow the instructions here - enter the colors in my control panel.  No, I have not loaded this lesson and this is probably why my swatch and Panel does not match the book.

• CS5 Classroom In A Book errors

  I learn a few Dreamweaver by Adobe Press' Classroom In A Book and find a few mistakes pretty bad in the Edition. It is difficult to know whether problems I'm having with the program are related to my own mistakes, or if it's just another lack of typo or error in the book.

  That being said, when you create a new CSS style, what is the difference between a < #style > and < .style >

  I know that the # is a reference ID, but what happens if Dw is and instead uses the .style. The book shows a #style in his illustration, but when I followed the directions my Dw is automatically entered as .style.

  My error somewhere? Or is this another error of the book? How is this book what it to print at will all deviations of the screen that shows the book? If you take this book you will know what I mean.

  An ID is a named reference.  Can only be used once on a page, whereas a class can be used multiple times on the same page.  I don't have instructions so if you could post the steps that you are asked to use I can start my DW and see if it's an error with DW or something you do.

  PS: Only this package (for Flash pro CS... Editor) in more than 40 MB (and normally in the "ZIP" format) is good! package.

  Not pages with Flash Player file (for navigator) for +/-3 MB or other packages of Flash player of +/-20 MB (for developers or old system) and containing only not the right files for Flash Pro CS3.

  Those you need to download is:

  • Download the Windows Flash Player 9 Projector content debugger (EXE, 3.64 MB)
  • Download the Windows Flash Player 9 projector (EXE, 3.26 MB)

  The first file is in the Players\Debug directory.

  The second goes into the Players\Release directory and players (Yes, it's the same file - check the size)

  Once you put the files here, remove the 'old' and rename the new as FlashPlayer.exe

• Flash CS3: Help me make my movie play, please!

  It is an electronic company sign, so I will try to put a Flash animation of one of their signs on their pre-existing site. No sound, no skin, no control, whole movie, an endless loop.

  I imported a video .avi (from PC) of the client in Flash CS3 (on a Mac), and made sure my internship is the same size as file settings.

  Saved the file. Test the movie in Flash. * The movie plays just fine *. This is a picture of colourful balloons, growing on a black background.

  I publish the movie.

  I copy the .fla and .swf into folder flash at the root of the site on my local server.

  I go to Dreamweaver CS3 to insert the film using their integration > Flash in the div that I created for this on the index page (which uses only SSI for the nav and footer only - no PHP involved - so each page has an .shtml extension).

  I test the movie in DW by clicking on the green arrow in the toolbar properties. Nothing but white. Movie does not play, or if he plays, it's only white.

  in the same place in the head section of the actual file.

• Opening in the same window using CSS and Flash CS3/AS3?

  I'm working on a portfolio in Flash CS3 and AS3. I try to avoid making all in Flash, so the home page is a header CSS/HTML page that will house a piece looped flash under the heading and the portfolio of the Interior will be flash parts within the same framework of header CSS.

  I would like to know what kind of code I need to use flash portolio navigation so that the 'Home' link will open the CSS/HTML landing page in the same window, rather than launch another window. Is this something that can be done using AS3, or do I me javascrpt as well?

  Any information or suggestion for a tutorial that I can take for this would be really useful and appreciated.

  You should test online.  Local test can have varying results in the measure of targeting windows going.

  Here's what I think, what your problem is.  Your internship must be resized to the size of the image.  I'm just guessing that you publish the SWF in this file and the code that places it in an html page is saying that it is very small to fit in this small space, but the swf file includes all of the white background that see you... then all you see is a specification due to having shrunk so small in the web page swf file.

  If you change your Document settings to the dimensions that you see for the width and height of the Flash file in the html code.  Then move the content in the scenic space and publish this file.
