  Seems the reasoning is a little off. If the Flash detection is in the Flash .swf... but the browser has no Flash plugin... the .swf would never be read by the browser... so no "Flash detection" scheme would be completed well.

  Which is why Flash detection must occur off-side of the .swf, by the browser, exactly as does .swfobject.

• Solved? Flash player jerky and freezes the browser

  For months RSS news of AOL, Google and Yahoo have been very choppy and often froze the browser Firefox normally.

  You can detect if Flash Player is installed by using the following registry keys:

  Flash Player 32 bits on 32-bit Windows: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Macromedia

  Flash Player 32-bit on Windows 64-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Macromedia

  Flash Player 64-bit on Windows 64-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Macromedia

  Note the following points:

  1. it is usually sufficient to detect the Flash Player 32-bit because the installer for 64 - bit is to install Flash 32 - bit and 64 - bit players.

  2. There are subkeys for the ActiveX (Internet Explorer) and players of Flash Plugin (based on Mozilla browsers) where indicated. You can detect a specific type of Flash Player using these buttons, if necessary.

  I had problems to download the Flash Player and download updates or open documents of my Internet Explorer 11 emails lately. I can download chrome (go figure) but I'm tired of having to go back and forth between 2 browsers do. This happens when I try to open the documents in my e-mails used with my school district local, personal messaging, other updates (with the exception of the MS updates for some reason any) etc... I tried to turn my antivirus (MS Essentials) and even uninstalled and then tried to download - did not work. I reset IE to its default setting, restored IE advanced setting and crossed my security settings to make sure that the "enable downloads" has been selected. Nothing has worked. Any ideas on what's going on?

• Installed Adobe Flash Player update and now get the security warning message

  On each page on that I click I get the warning following pop box IE. A website wants to open web content outside of protected mode. This program will open outside of protected mode". The Web site, whether is Adobe Flash Player.  I can't get rid of the pop up if I click on allow.  I can click on don't allow not, but for every thing I'm in, I get this pop up warning window.  I do not think that I have to click on "don't show me this message again" that I should?

  I tried to follow your steps as carefully as I could.  I'm sorry to report that it did not work.  What I finally had to do was to make a back up and restore.  I backed up before 3 days, which was a bunch of Windows updates.  I probably lost all updates but guess what - the warning box has disappeared.

  I use Avery to print my business projects.  It says I need to update that Ive done through the link and manually and Iam always problems to my projects.  It says that I still have to update.  Ive tried everything.  Avery said that they cannot print no problem using my account and that his problem with adobe.  Any help would be wonderful!  I'm on a lack of time to get these printed items!   You have updated Adobe Reader, but the message speaks of Adobe Flash Player. They are completely different.
