  • Flash Player installs fine, but does not work in firefox

Adobe flash player doesn't seem to work on my firefox. I try to watch anything that uses the flash and he suggests that install it. I have re-installed flash and shockwave flash as well as firefox about 5 times now. nothing works. It seems to work on Google chrome, but I want to continue to use firefox.

Searching the Internet has failed me, and I can't find all the topics with solutions.

I hope someone here can help or at least point me in the right direction.

I had the same problem you had for a long time until I found this forum Vincent. Little by little, I've collected some clues and I hope not too late to share my research with you. Heres how I fixed thanks to Carl E. Myers, who gave me the answers to identify the problem.

The way in which I discovered that the problem is when I saw the control/flashplayer Panel noted Carl E, the Flash ActiveX and plugin are not installed as 32 bits in which I will explain later. From what you post, it's very likely your problem as well.

so here's how to solve this problem:

    http://www.Adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

    1. on this page, you will see

Download Windows Flash Player (for IE) 11.2 ActiveX control content debugger (EXE, 3.93 MB)

    Download and installation

    2. the same page, you will see

Download the Windows Flash Player 11.2 Plugin (for Netscape compatible browsers) content debugger

    That should do it. Why?

Flash from Adobe installed as a 64-bit installation!

Your computer is a 64-bit, like mine, so that's why ie and firefox are not picking up our installation of Adobe Flash, because Adobe Flash automatically installs on windows system you are running. It's a big problem we users of 64-bit because some applications are NOT 64 bit but more so compatible (if necessary). For example, Mozilla Waterfox is a 64-bit application that is built to our windows and you would see that the flash would work without problem because flash has been installed as a 64-bit. In addition, IE64bit, another proof that should be able to achieve as well, but not to be confused with IE as it is a 32-bit application.

Plugins and activex controls you have installed are manual installation 32 bit and that you now understand why it will now work for firefox, ie and other browsers 32 bits that needed it. Apples to apples now.

PS even if which should fix, I highly recommend using Waterfox instead of Firefox because it is surprisingly fast and way better live for your windows.

  • OSX: Flash Player installer appears easily 10 x per day

    Dear Adobe team,

On my Macbook Pro with OSX 10.11.6 the app to install flash player launches easily 10 times a day, without asking me for it.

What is happening is that I do my job and at random, get a pop-up saying that Flash player is up-to-date on my system.

    10 times. a. day.

Unfocuses some app I work too much so I often in bulk text because of its input.

I don't know what make the top to open it, I have the following programs open all day: Firefox 48.0.1, Apple Mail, Mailplane 3, Slack, Apple Notes.

I can't spend a day with these applications closed for troubleshooting, it's my work machine.

Do you have any suggestions what to do? How do I update the Flash Player installer or why is this application even on my system?

Thank you very much for your help!

    Screen Shot 2016-09-07 at 14.44.44.png

    Thanks for the info.

The reason that the pop - up that happens is that the plugin PPAPI (used by Opera and browser based on Chromium, except Chrome) is an older version of Flash Player.  Update checker runs and tries to check for an update, but the check fails because of an error "unable to connect to the server.  Because he cannot connect to the server, it then returns the message you see.  We have not seen the error returned in your log file and need to continue the investigation.

    Use a proxy server?

Your system has restrictions on what processes can access the internet?

If you use the PPAPI plugin, launch the Chrome browser that uses it and go to https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer to download and install the latest version of the PPAPI plugin.

If you have / use a browser based on Chromium, I recommend you to uninstall.  Unfortunately, the Mac uninstaller program currently does not support remove them that type a (for example, PPAPI only or NPAPI only) Player.  It allows you to uninstall all Flash Player plugins present on the system and you will then need to re - install the NPAPI (used by Firefox) plugin.  To uninstall using the standalone uninstall program or the Adobe Flash Player installed by located in/Applications/Utilities.  After that the player is uninstalled, start Firefox and go to https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer to download and install the NPAPI plugin.

  • Npswf32.dll error during flash player installation

I tried to install flash player, but I get the same error when I try:

Error opening file for writing C:\windows\system32\macromed\flash\NPSWF32.dll

When I ignore that one I have another error

Error opening file for writing C:\windows\system32\macromed\flash\NPSWF32_FlashUtil.exe

and then when I ignore what he "finishes downloading", but it is basically useless and does not work. I went to the location above to see if I could find the file NPSWF32.dll- but he's not here. There is a c:\windows\system32\macromed and the Flash file, but it is empty inside. I downloaded the NPSWF32.dll and tried to put it in the flash folder, but the system wouldn't let me. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but I keep getting the same error. It drives me crazy, please help me if you're familiar with this problem. I Googled it and I saw that many people had this problem too, but I have not yet found a working solution. I'm on windows vista and im using firefox 3.6.

Hi, the files that you speak of are deleted with the Adobe uninstaller and then the Setup program will install the necessary

    files in the Flash folder.

http://kb2.Adobe.com/CPS/141/tn_14157.html Download this program to uninstall and put it on your desktop

http://fpdownload.Macromedia.com/Get/flashplayer/Current/install_flash_player.exe This is the installer of FF, save it to your desktop

Because I do not know what Add ons, extensions or plugins you just disable everything for now.

Follow the instructions to uninstall, close all browsers, check the system tray. Some programs that use Flash should

    running.

    Disconnect from the Internet

Disable all anti-virus/Spyware running in real-time programs.

Turn off the firewall you use, with the exception of Windows Firewall

Run uninstaller to your desktop, and then restart your computer. Wait until this that completely rebooted, then restart again

Run the installer to your desktop, and then restart your computer

Activate your firewall and your anti-virus/Spyware programs

    Connect to Internet

Go to this site of Adobe test to confirm that you have vs installed 10.0.42.34 http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about FP

Go to your plugins and make sure you have SWF (Shockwave Flash) vs 10.0.42.34 there and it is activated

Enable Java - the last is JRE 6 update 18.

Then check your Flash file and post back with the files that are now installed.

Now if you have older versions of Java installed (check the Add/Remove), you will need to remove them via Add/Remove

and install the latest Java. NOTE: You can do before the uninstall/install process. POST back and I'll give you the Java installation procedure.

    Thank you

    Hello

Go to Applications/Utiliites/Activity Monitor and look for the dashboard customer process.  If the customer dashboard does not display "throughout this process, hierarchically" or opt to display "this whole process."  Select it and then click on the button 'Stop process' at the top of the activity monitor window.

  • flash player installer

Long ago, adobe has decided not to distribute flash via the believing, but there a workaround for us who do not want to have a Manager to download a 10 MB file. Normally to get flash I go to using flash and download the version of the plugin, but now I go to the same page and the link is not there. using the manager isn't an option, is there another workaround solution or am I forced to download a virtual computer and and taking the plugin like this.

It is very annoying and a platform that 97% of all PCs have installed, it simply does not exist.

    Hi ctoon,.

Here is a link to a page that contains the Flash Player installation programs: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html

  • Adobe Flash Player - installation

I run Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium edition & 11 64-bit IE and have tried unsuccessfully to download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. When the process is complete, it says "Done!" Thank you and good AFP. I enabled 'Shockwave Flash Object', but when I click 'Check now' to see if has been installed, it says "sorry, Flash Player is either not installed or not enabled. How can this be? He said indeed that it is installed and activated. To the best of my knowledge, I followed all the instructions to the letter - and more than once. Why is it so difficult to install something that should be pretty simple and intuitive, and what is the problem and the solution? I guess the update to Windows 8 would solve it, as it is already installed? Thanks for any help.

    Hi brianc75421849,

Please try to uninstall Flash Player using uninstaller from here:
