• ESX 3.5 licenses during the upgrade to vSphere

  Hello all I hope someone can help me with a question of license.

  Is there a way I can tell when my host ESX 3.5 license expires without a license server?

  Can I take one of my vCenter 4.0 licenses and create the ESX 3.5 license file?

  Or do I have to rebuild a license server to connect my ESX 3.5 hosts to? Is this really a machine virtual?

  If it's important, I hope that all of my hosts built on ESXi 4.0 before the end of July.

  You have a period of 14 days in which to run without a license server.  After 14 days (power on VMs) features become unavailable.  My recommendations:

  1. determine what day the license server was decommissioned.

  2 see/var/log/vmkernel, logs files on the ESX servers to identify the first message about available license server.

  3 project 14 days from the date of license server is deleted.

  If you decide to try to beat the clock, doing nothing.  If you decide to license flex server backup steps below:

  4 Alter the DNS name of the license server (ESX 3.5 servers point to licenses) to your new Server 4.0 vCenter.

  5. install the flex on your server vCenter 4.0 License Manager.

  6. make sure that ESX 3.5 servers are now allowed.

  7. remove the flex License Manager when the ESX 3.5 servers have disappeared.

• Bug IE Flex?

  I'm new to Flex and still learning (SORRY for THE LONG POST, but it's a strange scenario). I have a very strange problem happening that has really been bothering me. I have install Flex to map correctly on my development server ColdFusion RDS. I followed the instructions to use the CF/Flex wizard and am able to create a simple CRUD application. In the example, they use artists DB (which is microsoft access). I use an Oracle DB. I draw correctly 3 pages... master 1 and 2 detail. When I compile and run the application. It seems to work correctly. I can Pierce an employee... see their multiple plans of the model, and then there is this edit button to edit the details of the page (or double click on the line). This is where it sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't! The edit page will sometimes show information, and other times that he will not load anything! If I click on the button Edit 10 times... data will charge 4/10 times, sometimes it will not. In FireFox, the app works perfectly. IE 6 and 7 is having this problem. It's almost as if the selectedItem is failed the primary key to the details page each time. I found that if I click on an item and wait 10-15 seconds and then click on edit it usually works every time. Also, I trust Cache OFF my admin settings CF.... but I find that right cache model of compensation until I click on change also have that works almost every time. This really bugs me and appears as a sort of bug! I don't know if it's a Flex, CF, IE or an Oracle one. This simple application will determine if my company is going to purchase Flex licenses, so if we cannot rely on the data by pulling each time that we will not be buying it (but I understand this so that I can do the trick). Help, please.

  It seems that the problem is b/c Flex was just too FAST. I fixed that by slowing down the processing so that the query can return its results and the grid of Flex. By adding the following code in my CFC after my query and again after my that defines the obj parameter:

  I have been able to slow down execution so that it works and fills the data grid EVERY time. It's probably something that adobe should focus on Flex apps in IE that connect to Oracle DBs with queries that take less than a second.

• Deployment of an AIR application

  My apologies for cluttering this forum very well with the legal aspects, but my boss wants to know if we can deploy a Flex/AIR of a CD or DVD. Looks like a pretty innocuous lack, but the excerpt of the license agreement I enclose below (Section 2.1.1 (a). (B)) seems to suggest that an application can only be deployed on my web site. I know that the chances are slim, but anyone know if I can deploy my application from anywhere other than a website?

  Yes, you can deploy. In this case, you would be under (a), you develop a developer program that you have the right to deploy however you like. (B) section is for when you are using the Flex SDK kit as part of your own website (essentially as a process as part of the application logic) to create applications. What we mean to ban it (and I should note that this should not be interpreted as legal advice in connection with Adobe) uses the SDK to create Flex applications for other people who they can distribute then (in the snap-in, do not be a compiler hosted on a large scale).

• Flex Builder 4.5 Premium license does not not for automation - nothing else to try?

  So I get the message when I try to record/perform a test as the "license does not exist.  Replays are only allowed with the limited trial version. "I have a license key valid for Flash Builder 4.5 premium edition.  I read many forums on this subject, but none of them helped me.  I compile my project using Flash Builder 4.5, 4.5, and a script Ant calling mxmlc.  I changed my flex - config.xml to include 'flexbuilder4', 'flexbuilder45' and my serial number given with or without hyphens (and other combinations).  I do not have a license.properties file.  I don't know what I can do.  I already reinstalled Flash Builder 4.5.  I'm now trying Flash Builder 6 with the same results.

  DaVinci coder, I would recommend you report your request in the forum installation and activation of Flash Builder.

  I realize that it is probably a problem of Flash Builder, rather than an issue of Flex. This is perhaps why there is no answers in the Flex forum.

  I have a volume license for CS5.5 Master Collection at my University that I just installed. 

  Everything works fine except when I go to FlexMonkey allows for automation testing, which I did for a long time in Flex 4.   I certainly have installed Premium - suggestion of Deepa I network monitor and the other totally fine features. To make sure any remaining files are around, I totally uninstalled CS5.5, deleted all the folders under Program Files Adobe, deleted the licenses.properties file in C:\ ProgramData\Adobe\Flex, emptied the trash, bought for my lunch of computer and still no luck. I started test operation and after 20 items, I get the same message: license does not exist. With the free trial only limited records are allowed. Is it possible that the Premium volume license versions do not properly activate the Automation API?

  I spent about 2 hours of frustration with four people about technical support. Very frustrating. Finally told that technical support does not support Flash Builder, only "consumer products" and I'll have to pay for the care of level 2 support. It just seems strange that I can not get the product to turn on properly and that I have to pay for technical support. , But three out of the 4 told me that after they hit impasses on the question and the fourth one I transferred to volume licensing sales, who said: oh, you can probably guess what says. What? The fourth person did tell me before transferring this volume license does not require the same type of activation so that he thinks that it does not properly activate Office Tools. Just his humble opinion.

  Sorry to let you know that the automation is allowed only when using FB Premium or Premium FBPHP licenses.

  No other licenses are considered valid, and there is a bug on our part.

  You need the right license ISE - the type of mobility (wireless) license will cover everything. If you have wired and wireless, then you must have basic (for most features) + more (for profiling) + Apex (for Posturing).

  If the software displays as trial might be a problem connecting to the activation server. Please check: Advanced solutions to errors in connection with Adobe Creative Cloud and Creative Suite applications

  I use currently a version track Flex builder available for vCenter-Extension development. We do you use Flex if often, should I buy Flex builder (Flash Builder 4.6) license for the development of a plugin-vCenter. Ask yourself what are cost-benefit vs specifically for the development of vCenter plug-in that I can point to for justification to our society.

  Some of the tools provided by VMware are clean enough, such as the project creation wizard vSphere-Web-Client which has Flex-Plugin. This has a dependency on Flex/Flash builder?

  If you are developing a serious plugin I recommend to get the license of Flash Builder (or try a few days without it to see the difference).  As the doc to install SDK says:

  "Adobe Flash Builder is not required to compile Flex code (the Flex compiler is included with the Flex SDK, see how it is used by Ant scripts provided with examples of the software development kit), but you should install it to enjoy the debugger and have a better development of experience within Eclipse.

  The project creation wizard is an Eclipse plugin that does not rely on Flash Builder.

  I investigated this during a few days and I can't find an answer. I have a license Extension Builder 2 and am subscribed creative cloud. My ideal scenario is to build my extension with Fb 4.7. However, this seems so an unsupported configuration...

  My second best option is to build with 4.6:

  I install CS Extension Builder 2.0 in FlashBuilder 4.6.

  Installation seems to fill.

  I build a simple helloworld project.

  I target for SC 6.

  I select run as Adobe Indesign Extension

  I get the error: Unknown Flex SDK: «Extension Builder 4.5»

  Of course, my project is "Extension Builder 4.5" but this SDK is not installed. Or unrecognized. Or...

  Help, please. I encountered this on two separate computers (both mac os 10.8.3) and I am puzzled.

  I solved this. I have redownloaded and installed 4.6 FB.
