• Flex in 90-minute tutorial

  Hey guys. I've been playing with flex in tutorial 90 minutes because the way it's Setup is what is best for my next app. I modified it to provision differently, and it has worked flawlessly. There are, however, two problems I have.

  The first problem, when I deploy on the desktop, everything works fine. It loads up to the main screen, click on a search button I put in place, then past in the search screen, I type in a Word, the element appears on the list and I can click on it to move to the next screen. But, when I deploy in the Simulator, I go as far as the search screen and cannot go any further. When I type in a Word and click on the search button, nothing happens. Why would this work in the office but not in the Simulator?

  The other problem is that I can't seem to change the text of the .xml file. In the .xml file, all employees are listed with different information such as position, email addresses, phone numbers etc. Now when I try to change this information, the old information still show when the application runs. I thought the app pulled data from the .xml file directly? There is no errors or warnings that appeared in Burrito.

  Any thoughts?

  FIRST QUESTION: this 90 minute demo comes out with the SDK 0.9.2 now SDK 1.0.1 is very different from that, so you need to add access_shared in the blackberry - tablet.xml leave is working, or update the code to avoid the permission of "access_shared".

  SECOND QUESTION: I remember. the XML is loaded into the sqlite database at the spearhead of the demo in the first, after it, app will affect not the xml file more, update the contents of the xml files you want and rename the database in another name, therefore, faster solution.

  Everyone set up a tutorial on the publication of a Flex/AIR application for distribution as an OSX desktop application, or through Mac App Store, or just simply using the developer Certificate ID?

  In my time as a Flex developer, I've seen some well documented things and some that you had to dig for, but find clear instructions on this is really hard! I would have thought post your Flex/AIR application as a standalone application (captive runtime) users directly or through the Mac App Store (Apple Developer ID certificate signature) would be something that many people are trying to do. But most of the useful post there are dated or incomplete, as well as specifically targeted to iOS. In addition, whenever the AIR SDK changes it seems that many of the recent posts are no longer valid at certain stages.

Or should I take altogether on the myApp.mxml file and continue straight to the views.myAppHome.mxml?

  * I did this way based on a tutorial several months ago. This tutorial, however, had additional features that I removed. Currently, I have an opinion, but will probably add another any further on the road.

  I built a flex filter to generate alternative image formats. It works as expected, as long as I put new rendered image via the method IFilterableAssetInstance.addDerivedDataValue () attribute data.

  I wanted to do something smart with the filter, such as the conservation of the quality of the image and no do not recreate whenever assets are recorded, and allowing a user to replace it with their own personal interpretation.

  What I see in the Oracle documentation, the reach of Flex filters are extremely limited and do not allow for such actions. You can only use them to set the attributes derived, which are strictly read-only for the users.

  On the first question, I must say that, as far as I know is impossible, the only way is that you create a custom attribute editor and if you are able to define its attributes as you want in order to change them.

  For the second question try in your code in the following example taken from the Oracle documentation and find the link below for more information on using the API of the asset:

  I can't understand how to use a SQLite database in Flash Professional.

  There are a lot of tutorials on how to Flex, but not so in Flash.

  Books tend to outdate fast, here is a very simple tutorial, how to use SQL within Flash.

  If you have in mind to actually administer your sqlLite DB, you should you consider getting an administration as LITA tool

  Beware if you are using the code examples, most of them will not compile in the trade with the current AIR Version (3.5)

  So be prepared to do some debugging.

  I was reading that flex for mobile has been improved for performance on mobile.
  If this update, they removed the mx classes? For exmple I wanted to try this tutorial:

  That is right.  Only Spark components are optimized for mobile devices and have touch support.

  ... must be inside an event handler, for example for the creationComplete event. To create an event handler, go to the tag at the top of your .mxml file, start typing creationComplete and use code completion to create the handler. Then put these two lines inside the Manager.

  In addition, in the world of Flex, we don't use addChild, we use addElement. But addElement doesn't accept MovieClips, because there are some complex measurement and positioning going on behind the scenes that does not implement MovieClip. The SpriteVisualElement control can take care of this for you. Add a SpriteVisualElement to your mxml and then do a sve.addChild (youtubeMovie).

  I do not think that there is an SDK for Adobe Photoshop Touch specifically or resources to the creation of flex extensions for her right now. There are resources to create your own applications mobile http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/articles/mobile-development-flex-flashbuilder.html.

  If there is a specific feature you really want to see added to Photoshop Touch for now, I recommend you to make a feature request.
