  I am just getting into macro photography.  I have Photoshop elements 14 and would like to know if it is able to Focus Stacking or HDR merging of the different exposures of the same image?

  No HDR but in guided Mode you can use the Photomerge exposure to mix (or parts of moves) moves with different exposure settings, is not possible in one shot in-camera.

  Focus stacking can only be done manually, using layers and masks.

• Photoshop CS6 artifacts when focus stacking

  I use photoshop cs6 for focus stacking.  When I try to change the mask to correct areas that don't mask correctly, I see artifacts in the image.  If I turn off the mask of all artifacts are in the images imported into the stack of layers. Imported images are well after import, and even after auto align and before auto mix.  After automatic mixture that's when the problem comes back. No indication as to what is happening.

  That's exactly what auto mixture: equalize the differences of tone between exposures, to create a smooth mixture and local color. But the auto-merge uses strong masking without no aliasing, that's why you see objects when you change the master. Local adjustments to place the mask as it is created.

  Yes, it can be a problem, especially because the masks are not all that precise everything first. I ran into the same.

  I have not looked through the video, but if you look through the files in Bridge and find the one that is stronger for the problem area.

  In Photoshop, select the layers stacked focus, right click and turn into a smart object.  Add the file that you just find the stack of layers and use Auto alignment to align the new file with the smart object.  Then use a layer mask to hide out of the areas of focus on the new layer.

  If you have CC, you can use Select > field on the new layer, then add a layer mask.

  I import my Canon and then convert the files. DNG in Lightroom Import.

  What is the exact version of photoshop cc 2014 you have?

  In photoshop under help > System Info look at the top line of the for the version of photoshop.

  You should have photoshop cc 2014.2.1

• Focus stacking problem with Photoshop CC 2014

  I have used many versions of Photoshop in the past for a while to focus stacking. It is usually pretty easy. I pull my carpet, import into Lightroom, usually to fix an image in LR, copy settings to other images, select them all, and use "Edit in" «open as layers in Photoshop.»

  I then select all layers and "auto-align" them. I then select all layers and "auto blend" them. Usually, I then have a group of layers with variable layer masks I either try to edit or just flatten. My computer is a new Mac Pro with a lot of SSD and RAM space.

  I did yesterday with 24 images of a dahlia. They have been taken with a D800E lens PCE of 85mm, on a solid tripod Gitzo 3 in series with a head of Arca B1 and rail of RRS. I used Photoshop CC 2014.

  I'm done with all the masks of empty black layer with the exception of the lower part, which was white. The image was clearly NOT stacked focus when I flattened. It was a huge out-of-focus areas.

  I took the same images and did the same thing on my Macbook Pro laptop and got the same result using Photoshop CC 2014

  I downloaded a demo of Helicon Focus and tried to use it on the Mac Pro and the result was beautiful. I am pleased to invest in software that works, but I do pay $9.99 US/month for creative cloud and feel that he must do what he says he'll do and what he has done before.

  I then did the same with Photoshop CS6 on the new Mac Pro and VOILA it worked as before.

  Anyone who has tried this and had similar problems with CC 2014? This looks like a bug, a serious bug for me, with CC 2014.

  You can check by clicking Help > about Photoshop (Windows) and for Mac, click Photoshop CC2014 icon at the top and choose on Photoshop.

  I just spent HOURS on 2 different computers, trying to make the Focus Stacking for 2 jobs, I've been working on which I couldn't work. I used it just a couple of weeks without problem. (And yes I use the correct procedure: ) File > Scripts > load files into piles > attempt to Auto align > select all layers (in the layers panel) > edit > Auto layer blending > Images from the stack) Of course, I thought it was something that I was doing wrong, so I spent all this time trying to solve the problems on my end. Finally, I tried the cat help and spent another pile of time to reproduce the problem and make screen captures to show CSR only to find out that it's a known Adobe issue, and it could be solved in the next update. BTW, it was very obvious that CSR helps both a list of clients since it took so long between responses. How aggravating.

• How can I fix an image created by Focus Stacking in SP6

  The image below was created using 8 photos using the process of the development of stacking in PS6 (I carried our properly) but he loves place properly when mixed. I've tried about 8 times and get the same result every time.

  This has been frustrating the crap out of me for a week (not that the picture is important, it's just that I like to conquer and solve these questions)

  I was shooting with an opening of 7.1.

  I changed the exhibition on photos, as you did previously but it only blew the watch and I couldn't get it back eventually and alignment was no better any way.  While I started to experiment as you suggested, and I do not know if what I'm about to write is not acceptable in an Adobe forum, but here goes.

  I tried Helicon Focus and it was terrible, but I have to admit, I didn't know how to use it really, it doesn't seem to have any alignment feature and is very difficult to try to use it and understand.

  then I tried Hugin and I do not know if it is image stacking software or just an alignment, in any way that does not work either and kept saying that the release was a very bad game.

  THEN I downloaded and tried zerestacker (free 30-day trial) (after having read about it in a google search) and WOW, it worked amazing, it was so easy to use and the interface is easy as well and for this alignment and stacking in the same process and you can see the image below, photo, show output to the top left of the screen.  Sorry PS but I use ZS to photostacking in the future. Adobe need to buy this company and bind in PS nc6.

  It's so much better than anything I got out to PS, there is no ghosting or blur and the alignment is perfect and it is so easy to use.

  Background: A few years ago, many editors of cinema used Final Cut Pro 6 (also contained in Final Cut Studio 2) for their editing projects.  Shared Apple Final Cut X uses a different format that is not compatible with FCP6.  Sometimes, these editors are called to work on a few historical projects that have been published in FCP6 and need this version to run now.

  Starting with OS X Lion, FCP6 would install not in Lion and thereafter.

  According research by Jeremy Johnston as noted on his blog, he discovered that Apple has inserted a file in the folder CoreServices in the Library folder of the system folder that causes versions the version Final Cut Pro X (and other older Apple programs in the same situation) do not settle.  He suggested changes to this file that would seek to prevent interfering with the installation of FCP6 in Lion, many users of final cut PRO 6 were successful in their efforts to install in Lion and work with it.

  First of all, I need advice on how to display an extremely large Setup log in this thread (on MacRumors, it is a method to insert a 'code' in a small box that can be the object of a scrollbar if necessary to read all along).  I am unable to find such a method to post here.

  Then once approved, I need help to determine which component is causing the installation to fail and perhaps this element can be omitted from the installation:

• HP15 ab029tx: window update 10 problems should return to 8.1 windows using recovery and come back later

  My computer hp 15ab029tx laptop came pre-installed with win 8.1. I've recently upgraded to win 10. However, after upgrading, I found the following issues. I installed the latest version of the bios and all drivers are up to date on hp site.

  the problems are.

  1. edge flicker browser. Sometimes I use chrome so ok.

  2. autonomy is by 2 hours earlier, that's around 3: 00.

  3. laptop gets very hot. I found coolsense does not. There is no setting of tdp in the power profile. TDP settings was present in windows 8.1.event viewer is full of errors of health active hp, intel dptf, etc.

  That's what I'd do - return to Win8.1.

  I have a laptop HP Dv6 Win7 running and the upgrade of Win10 has been a total disaster.  I restored using Win7 HP recovery media.  I'd rather have a BONE more old where everything works, only a new operating system where things do NOT work.

  As to wait a year, the FREE upgrade expires end of August 2016 - so after that, if you still want to upgrade, you will need to purchase a license - and, unlike with previous versions of OS, MS said nothing about the price for upgrade license, or even if such a license will be available then.

• Re: Windows Vista HP. symptom: failure using the VxD loader.

  I did a check of System Diagnostics and the report came back like: failure using the VxD loader. A device has a configuration issue preventing it from working correctly. Devices: Reader CF USB, USB MS Reader, reader SD USB, USB, xD/SM Reader and MMC storage reports "tv_ConfigMgrErr19". How can I fix it?

  Thank you for your response.  I acted on your suggestion and he returned with the "windows resource protection found no violations of integrity." Then I read somewhere to uninstall and reinstall devices, but I uninstalled devices portable usb cf, ms usb, usb sd and xd/sm in error.  I didn't know how to get them back so out of curiosity I made re the system diagnostic and the problem disappeared, the only mistake was d drive is less than 15% free.  I did something wrong?

  Hi there, since a terrible week for me I started to receive the error message:

  Hard drive failure is imminent and must be replaced

  only when am re - / from my PC.

  I made a backup already a few days ago (space available was already 85% - did not much), run all those disk cleanup, defragmentation, analyze and verify programs and there was nothing wrong. I ran all possible controls and it had nothing recorded. I've updated / installed Windows 8 which works perfectly without any problems, no computer crash or that it is, but only sometimes receive a message saying that I need to run/shedule a back, etc.

  As I already mentioned, there was no disk error, no other problems known but still get the message "hard drive failure is imminent and should be replaced" and crazy!

  My questions are:

  (1) what on Earth is happening, there is always a problem with touch smart PC; should he stay away all in a desktop PC and just buy older versions - separate screen and tour, etc.?

  (2) I have no problem and continue to use my PC but wonder what will happen; It will be down, it's just a false error message, what should I do?

  (3) if I have to take it to a service, what should I take care of?
