  Here's what I want to accomplish informing a group of people that all alarms will be erased and then foglight removes all the weapons on a specific date and time

  I'd like to be able to plan / create a rule or any other option available to use... to be able to send an email through foglight or notification to a specific group of people telling them that all messages will be deleted.

  I hope that you could see the information contained in the KB, some items may have been written there so I recommend for anyone who wants to use it to test on a test server or check with the support, if there are recent scripts.

  Regarding the sending of notifications on a schedule, I think the simplest if to set that plan and create a rule with a true value, which is only applicable to this annex (annex rule or rule that is valid on a precise timetable) and has the action to send the notification to users on the alarms about to be cleared/purged.

  You will need to install the cartridge change and then configure agent/s to monitor your environment.

  Given the fact that you are not familiar with Foglight, you will need to get technical assistance d safe g involved working with you at this stage. Continuing this thread of discussion won't be effective.

  I have a number of 'issues' or 'configuration mistakes' in my environment. If someone is able to help, it would be great. Let me first start by saying that I have worked with Dell Support for about a month now and nothing is useful that out yet.

  I'm setting this to our NAP. It is running vCenter 5.5, 9 guests, about 35 VM (will increase quickly).

  When I got up first Foglight, I tried changing vCPU, RAM, and hard drive. They all worked except the hard drive has failed. I have changed since the permissions of vCenter and would try again, but the optimizer doesn't display my test VM as needing to be resized (expanded or collapsed).

  Question 1: of the VM who have either 99% full of hard drives or completely empty on allocated disks do NOT appear in the optimizer. Even though I see them in the tab alarms and I get emails on this subject.

  Number 2: For the life of me, I can't understand how the credentials work in this application with regard to the mounting of a virtual machine via the workflow or the optimizer. All tasks constantly fail because "no credentials assigned." I've created a repository secure with our service account.

  Question 3: I constantly receive an email about the database: "rule catalyst database space free audit pulled with a critical severity based on the limit specified in the DBSMon.CriticalFreeTablespaceSize registry variable.» The remaining database size is 30010246.00 bytes. ». Is it possible to change "bytes" to something a little bigger?

  Those are my main concerns at the moment, I'm still exploring what I may or may not do. If there is a useful documentation, I'd like to see it. I couldn't find Jack!

  About question 1, have you checked the storage requirements on eDocs resizing? There is a list of the supported operating systems and below is a list of common requirements. Please check that the virtual machine meets all the:

  Question 2: Identifying information for the workflow and optimizer are stored in different locations.

  For Optimizer: Follow the instructions in the PDF used number #1 to configure the credentials of the optimizer (search for the credentials tab).

  Before using this cartridge, you must specify the access information for a VMware host and all virtual machines that you want to manage.

  1. Open the VMware-> Configuration of Automation dashboard.
  2. In the list, select the host on which you want to work with.
  3. Click set credentials.
  4. Specify the user name and password for the selected host.

• Foglight for monitoring EMC DMX storage

  The EMC DMX is not listed as a device in charge which can be monitored through Foglight. Has anyone successfully been able to use Foglight to monitor one of these devices and is there by any chance any type of documentation or guide that may give a glimpse of how it has been implemented?  Thanks in advance!

  The DMX product range seems to be gradually eliminated by EMC. Foglight for storage management does not officially support any of them, but they are sufficiently similar to CLARiiON and berries VNX from our point of view, you have the chance to their follow-up as well. We cannot provide support for this however.

  If you do not want to try, there is one thing that you should pay attention to: you must have version 4.6.2.3 or SMI-S Provider EMC 4.6.2.9 (inspired Enabler 7.6.2.26 Solution https://community.emc.com/docs/DOC-19629) installed. Later versions do not appear to support collection DMX arrays to all SMI-S.

  We use 5.6.10 Foglight to monitor our production environment (VMware, Oracle, MS SQL, EMC Storage) and some time ago, has also decided to try Foglight NMS for just a few critical devices (UPS in the server room and some basic switches) and integrate it with Foglight.

  But now it seems that the product is EOL.

  So my questions are:

  1. I remember the product was free up to 100 devices, it's always like that? I've heard of representative commercial, changed up to 100 ports instead of devices... Even if it is true, I am still below, sostill want to use it.

  2. How do we get for free (up to the limit of devices/ports), but the license permanent?

• Foglight for virtualization 7.0 Standard Edition Compatiibility problems with vSphere 5.5

  I couldn't understand how just after to the Foglight for virtualization forum, so I apologize for this post being in the wrong place.

  I have the Foglight 7.0 Standard edition and I'm unable to see virtual machines on the hosts of a new vCenter Instance I added to Foglight.

  I have enough licenses and the hosts appear in the inventory, but if you hover over one of the new hosts attribute 'State' reads "Not responding" and appear any of the virtual machines in the cluster.

  Any ideas as to what could go wrong or what I would have been able to hurt?

• Configure alarms for VMware Datastore latency in version FREE Foglight!

  I downloaded the version free foglight and that I imported the FVO in my test harness. I want that when a data store has over 50ms latency so I should launch an alert.

  I can't see the alarms on the console free foglight.

  Can you please how can I do to achieve the same thing.

  Hi vaibhav,

  The free version does not include a rule to check latency of data store. I checked with development and looks like a new rule has been added to the Foglight for virtualization Enterprise Edition 7.2 (to be released in the following months). The new rule is called: VMW Datastore total latency.

  For the moment, in my view, there is a latency of data store rule included in one of the established community of cartridges. These cartridges are not created by Dell and are not supported. Take a look at it and see if it meets your request.

  Note: If your Foglight does not have the ability to install cartridges, chances are that you are running the Standard Edition version. If you have problems, please indicate the full version number. You should find it in the topic of the article.

• Foglight for virtualization Enterprise Edition 7.1

  What is the best way to get a retailer report: IOPS / s used by VM on a daily/weekly/monthly basis. I use Foglight virtualization 7.1 Enterprise Edition. That's what I got from Dell Support to respond to my request:

  "We have studied this and found that the solution is not available out of the box, this measure has been part of the vBundle-1 cartridge as described in Knowledge Article 89492  Unfortunately, we were able to determine that this feature was not added in vFog 7.1 actually cartridge vBundle-1 no longer works with vFog version 7.1.   I think I saw a page that explains how to exclude these ESXi hosts via edit some files in Foglight.
