  We use 5.6.10 Foglight to monitor our production environment (VMware, Oracle, MS SQL, EMC Storage) and some time ago, has also decided to try Foglight NMS for just a few critical devices (UPS in the server room and some basic switches) and integrate it with Foglight.

  But now it seems that the product is EOL.

  So my questions are:

  1. I remember the product was free up to 100 devices, it's always like that? I've heard of representative commercial, changed up to 100 ports instead of devices... Even if it is true, I am still below, sostill want to use it.

  2. How do we get for free (up to the limit of devices/ports), but the license permanent?

  I am a graduate student working on my master's degree in business management and technology with no technical information. (This major does not require to have a university education back in IT or computer). I'm working on my master's project which involves research, updated implementation, integration, testing and evaluating technology chosen in a virtual laboratory provided through my University. I am a new user to Foglight NMS and I'm having problems. Whenever I connect to Foglight, the 'add devices Wizard"appears each time I close on the Foglight NMS knowledge base. I think that my problem lies in the configuration of SNMP or WMI. After reading the instructions several times and try to configure the SNMP and WMI, I don't get my expected results - the ability to monitor the activity on the network. I tried to pull up a report for a summary of Network Performance, but it displays no data. However the "health of the unit" shows use 'active' for the processor and the memory. I am attaching screenshots illustrating my setup. Please notify.

  In the report window, there is a button 'Select device' at the top. If you choose the option "all devices", doesn't change what is the report?

  I just re-read this whole thread and couldn't find where anyone advised the upgrade of your operating system. But to answer your question...

  2. Even if that were the case it would be illegal
  3. Even if your PC run more slowly than with XP

  my laptop has 2 drives internal, c and d and c it goes down pretty fast, can I program my computer to move all the files rather than c?

  Many laptops have this annoying habit to be delivered with a C drive and a drive D. annoying for most people.

  During the installation of software, you could make custom installations and installed at D:\Program files instead of C:\Program files. Or probably the simplest is to move the My Documents folder to the D drive, see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310147. Or maybe both!

• Unable to get the Netflow data in Foglight NMS

  Hello everyone I hope that there are people out there who can give me a helping hand. I recently installed Foglight NMS version 6.8.24371 and I'm trying to do declare my my Adtran Netvanta 3305 netflow traffic information. I have setup the netflows on my router for export. The router indicates he sent successfully to my foglight agent ip address. With wireshark, I checked that he has actually flows from the router with my agent machine (which is the Studio is installed as well). I've also temporarily installed Scrutinizer and I managed to collect netflow data. If I do a check condition of monitoring it shows it has collected any netflow. Any help troubleshooting this would be greatly appreciated.

  Is a feature of netflow in a policy where the NetFlow monitor is selected? Also, please click on the option settings, to the right of the screen. Make sure all the boxes are ticked.

  I've recently migrated to the Dell TechCenter of Quest Foglight communities website.  Can you please tell me where is the Foglight NMS forum?  I know that this product is more actively developed by Dell, but it is always supported and ancient communities of NMS Foglight (http://communities.quest.com/community/nms?view=all) provided a good location for information, support and assistance.

  In my view, it is covered by the vCenter license. As long as you have licensed vCenter (as far as I know on any edition), then you can use VMRC to any number of users.

• Free devices in the NAC 4.1

  Hello friends,

  I m the virtual gateway layer2 mode configuration, I m bit confused regarding what would be the free features of layer2 virtual gateway mode.

  whenever any device in the vlan for authentication, it will pass through NAC server but if I moved the normal port access vlan in the switch of ' switchport mode access vlan "that the device is off flow from the NAC.

  My knowledge regardless of the mapping vlan is being done in the NAC between authentication and vlan access only those VLANs is affected rest are all out of the stream of ANC, they will go as normal traffic.

  Also all my switches vlan management so when I don't create the mapping for management vlan that they do not pass through the NAC. Am I wrong?

  Please suggest me what other devices should be exempted from the networks, for example: printers and what else?

  You are right, in most of your assumptions. The essential with the NAC is to follow the flow of traffic and make sure in the not authenticated state, the flow of traffic is always in the CASE. It follows that if a port is not in a local VIRTUAL alongside unreliable network, it would never be repercussions of the NAC. For your VLAN authenticated, we need to ensure that taxiway, they are allowed only through CBS. This simple design rule in mind, look at your VLAN again and you will get most of the answers you seek.

  For this I want to evaluate the ISE. I know that there is a 90 days trial license, but according to the reference of the function guide is the basic and advanced.

  It still works with the eval base licenses and advanced that come with the software.

  To ensure that radius account management is configured correctly for endpoint devices reports you correctly.

• Windows 8 retail installation - stuck to get 100% ready devices

  Upgrade Advisor did not find all the important issues (deauth iTunes, install an app to read DVDs, and secure boot is not compatible with my pc).

  It passes through the installation, but it is stuck at "Getting ready devices 100%.  I removed all devices except the keyboard, mouse, monitor.
  Suggestions or get a refund?

  I could spend this step. I ejected the DVD, and the Setup program proceeds... immediately inserted the DVD into.

  Installation process. It got stuck again at the "moving files 100%", repeated step of ejecting the DVD, the installation program proceeds again... And finally got Windows 8 running :)
  don't know what all the devices/apps could be ignored or corrupted everything by ejecting the DVD. but so far, it works like charm...

  Note: at the point of guillotine, if you restart the machine it will try to restore the previous installation of windows, so you lose nothing.

• Creative Cloud license paid, but as free watch

  I bought my creative license cloud of 12 months on June 2015.

  But my account (< deleted by the moderator >) Watch always as 'free membership of creative cloud' to date.

  

  When I tried to install apps from creative cloud with my account, it shows I'm in trial period.

  I bought previously also the other 12 month subscription to my account (< deleted by the moderator >) and it must have demonstrated "creative cloud membership (one year prepaid)".

  

  I contacted customer support via chat twice and they confirmed that I indeed made the payment on June 2015 (I always kept the State Bill and credit card). Was told that the technical team will fix me in 2-3 days, but I still receive an email to tell me the correction.

  If anyone in this community may be able to help me solve this problem?

  When you downloaded the assessment for the site of vmware chargeback, it should ask you for your contact information (e-mail address), it then sends you a trial to your mail key.
