Folder Prefetch isuspm & agent.exe

Two processes "ISUSPM. AGENT & EXE. EXE were broadcast for some time, using 100% CPU resources. Both are part of the of Windows Prefetch folder. Can I "end process" via the Task Manager or do I have a problem?

Are these accurate files in Prefetch? Then, your computer is probably infected. ISUSPM. EXE is the InstallShield update and certainly does not need to be starting with Windows. However, the right place for what it is in C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService\ISUSPM.exe. If it is elsewhere, especially as a .exe in Prefetch, it's suspicious.

AGENT. EXE is the Agent of Service Update InstallShield, also shouldn't be starting with Windows and should also be in the same file as ISUSPM.exe.

Scan your computer for viruses/malware completely: http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

Control what starts with Windows, but only after you know the computer is 100% clean.

Start > run > msconfig [Enter]

This will open the System Configuration utility. Look under the Startup tab and find the likely culprit. Uncheck the box next to its name, apply and OK out. You don't need to restart immediately, but next time you do, you will get a dialog box saying that you have used the utility. Just check the box that says in effect, "don't mind to this subject again".

Important - do not use the System Configuration utility to stop the process. Use rather Start > Run > services.msc [Enter] and stop all services unless you really, really know what you're doing.

  • Could not locate the agent.exe ODS.

In recent weeks, when my computer starts up, I get a message that says ODS agent.exe impossible to locate the component dnssd, dll not found - need to re - install. I don't remember to remove whatever it is and wonder if this is a serious problem and how can I fix it?  I use Windows XP Home Edition II.

    Thanks for your help.  Elizabeth

E-mail address is removed from the privacy *.

If you mean that you see a message like this:

ODSAgent.exe - Unable to locate component
This application has failed to start because c:\windows\system32\dnssd.dll was not found.  Reinstalling the application may fix this message.

ODSAgent belong to some software from Apple that allows remote DVD and CD disc sharing, restoration of system software and a migration wireless with MacBook Air.

If you have not deleted the file, he could have been quarantined (actually deleted) by your unspecified antivirus/antimalware software.

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

If you use this Apple software and features, you can see if the uninstall and reinstall the application by downloading it from the Apple page:

    http://support.Apple.com/kb/DL112

You might be able to get by with only replace the missing c:\windows\system32\dnssd.dll file that you can download on my SkyDrive, but there could be other files that are missing too so a relocation may be required if you use this software.

If you do not use this software, you can uninstall it or disable the ODSAgent Service, so it does not start when you restart your system.

Note that the 'experts' Support who are engaged by Microsoft engineer will say just to try running sfc/scannow and check if it helps (to help any) or run msconfig and disable the Service and that you will keep seeing the message, but that is not the problem - it fixes the symptom of a problem which is not the same thing that actually solve the problem (however counts as a 'response' on) their planet).

Maybe it's fine if you use not just software, but you will leave with a sloppy XP configuration.

If you do not know the software and do not use it, just uninstall it from Add/Remove Programs, and that should remove afflicted startup ODSAgent as well.

To download the c:\windows\system32\dnssd.dll on my SkyDrive, follow these steps:

I downloaded a copy of the file you need on my SkyDrive (everyone has a SkyDrive for file sharing).

You can download it and when you do, put a copy of the file in this folder (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    c:\Windows\System32

Here is the link to my SkyDrive and you can get the file you need here:

    https://SkyDrive.live.com/?CID=6a7e789cab1d6f39&ID=6A7E789CAB1D6F39! 311

When you see the files available for download, you can not see the file extension (.exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc.), but when download you them they will have the right extension.

When you download the file (especially if you use Internet Explorer), when you get a chance to save the file, your browser is unable to save the file with an extension (by example, .exe, .dll, .cpl, .sys, .zip, etc) then you will need to manually add the extension appropriate to the file when you download the file before you save it.

You can download the file without the extension, and then rename the file to add the appropriate extension.  You do not want to use a file called dnssd when the name of the file should really be called c:\windows\system32\dnssd.dll (if the downloaded file has no extension, you will need to change the name of the file to add the appropriate extension to make it work.

Restart and look at things, to remember that you will have to perhaps download and reinstall this app from Apple, if other files are missing.

  • XP Pro. Folder Prefetch files are missing

Tune up utility informs me files are missing in the prefetch folder. Pc restore fix this?

    Hi BALONEYMAN,

See What is the prefetch folder?  (Also valid for XP)

Try to run the sfc (System File Checker) scan to find and fix missing or corrupt system files.
    a. Click Start, click Run, type cmd and click ok.
    b. at the command prompt, type sfc/scannow and press ENTER.
    c. If you are prompted, enter the Windows XP CD in order to complete the scan.

  • How do I uninstall B2C Noti Agent .exe program related to LG electronics

Original title: I'm trying to contact Marilyn O on the thread "how to uninstall B2C Noti Agent .exe - is a program in relation to LG Electronics."

Hi, I'm trying to contact Marilyn O on the thread "How uninstall B2C Noti Agent .exe - it's a program related to LG Electronics."

It's more than a year, but I recently just met and IMHO have found a better solution than those posted. So I wanted to share my solution, but the thread has already been locked.
Marilyn O, if you read this, is how to disable the annoying popup every time that you log on to your PC:
    (1) Windows button > msconfig
    (2) in msconfig, go to the "Startup" tab and uncheck "B2C NotiAgent"
In this way, can solve you the problem without having to uninstall all software associated with your LG phone.
(P.S. I know this isn't problem Marilyn O but I am shouting to her so that she may be able to change the thread).

    Hello

Thanks for sharing of the resolution, because it would help the other members of the community to the same question.

  • find the folder of mass effect.exe

utility configuration mass effect does not.

    Thank you!
    S Silva

OK, but what exactly is, or not, is happening?

The game has an executable named MassEffect.exe and it is in the binary subfolder that is located in the folder that you installed the game. It is in Program Files (x 86) If you install games to the default location.

However, there is also a MassEffectLauncher.exe which shows a screen with different options. One of these options is 'Configure' in the main installation folder.
The MassEffect.exe allows to bypass this screen and goes directly into the game.

There is also a stand-alone MassEffectConfg.exe that brings just a configuration window.
It is also in the binary subfolder.

Making a shortcut with the MassEffect.exe or the MassEffectLauncher.exe is substantially the same as the MassEffect.exe takes longer to load the game as it does if you launch the game from the start Launcher screen.

  • Where is the folder Prefetch in Vista Home Basic?

I just tried on TuneUp Utilities 2012.I have 1 problem left supposibly. He told me that some program or something deletes files in my Prefetch folder and I would have a faster start-up if it were to cease. Everything seems to be mostly automated except this perticular problem. I don't know where is the Prefetch folder or what to do to stop everything that removes the information. Is there a setting that is incorrect, or is there a download that can solve this problem?

    Hello

Whenever you turn on your computer, Windows guard track of the way your computer starts and which programs you usually open. Windows saves this information in a number of small files in the prefetch folder. The next time you turn on your computer, Windows refers to these files to help speed up the boot process.

The prefetch folder is a subfolder of the Windows system folder. The prefetch folder is independent now, and there is no need to remove or to empty its contents. If you empty the folder, Windows and your programs will take longer to open the next time you turn on your computer.

I suggest you try to perform the clean boot and check if it helps:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

NOTE: When you are finished troubleshooting, make sure that you reset the computer in start mode normal such as suggested in step 7 of the above article.

    It will be useful.

  • What is dwm.exe file I found suddenly in my application data folder?

I had problems with my hung on a file named dwm.exe anti-virus software.  I go back there since last night windows prefetch file.  I have no idea what this file is located, I can't draw any type of file association properties and whenever I try to move it to the trash, I get a message saying that I can't access because it is used.  When I go to Task Manager and stop the process, it simply appears again a few minutes later just return in application, but not associated with a particular program data folder.  Avast is not seen as a virus when parsing, but it keeps popping up as the source of several warnings of malware by the anti-virus program.  What the devil am I going here?

If you have Vista - even if you have posted in forum Windows XP - dwm.exe is the Vista Desktop Window Manager and is responsible for the graphic effects to Microsoft Windows Vista operating system such as the live previews of windows 3D effects and transparencies to windows.

What version of Windows you have, including the service pack?

Do not include in C:\Windows\prefetch... those who are not 'real' files but are used by Windows for loading of the speed of the applications.  Do not delete something \prefetch with the idea that doing so will improve performance.  It will not.

You say that your anti-virus software warns of this file, but then say that "Avast sees a virus during the scanning."  If you simultaneously run two anti-virus applications, don't.  Choose a.

What antivirus and anti-malware applications do you use?  That are configured to run all the time (that is, in the background scan)?

This program complains dwm.exe and what is the exact message?

Finally, it is always possible that the malware has disguised himself using a legitimate file name.  Where is (other than \prefetch) location dwm.exe?  Right click and take a look at its properties and its relationship to what you see.  If not in C:\Windows\system32, there probably IS malware.

  • Computer virus VZ. EXE on my computer yesterday but seems to have disappeared today. Is this possible?

Yesterday, my computer became infected with a virus that I could identify as VZ. EXE. I was able to get online for a few minutes and found a description on a site Web that corresponded to what exactly was going on: when started it will imitate a system scan and once finished, he says that your computer is infected by Trojan, malware or adware and you can buy the full version of their program to remove the infections. It also makes it very difficult to get or stay on the line. The virus scan I have not picked up any problems. This morning when I turned on my computer, none of the problems I encountered yesterday were there. I was about to call McAfee and ask questions about the elimination of the virus but has resisted. I did a search on my computer and the only thing I found was

    • VZ. EXE - 2AD5E561.pf
    • found in the c:\windows\prefetch folder
    • size 27KO
    • Last updated 22/11/10 21:35
    • Created 11/22/10 12:46
    • Status-line
    • Of the attributes

What does that mean? The virus is gone or still there? Should I delete this file in the folder Prefetch? Thanks for any help or advice you can provide.

If you use McAfee, then the upgrade and full-body scan in safe mode (restart your PC and press F8 key several times and chose safe mode) and scan.

If it has not been detected you may contact McAfee support:

  • Redirect Horimzon-folder UNC path?

    Hello

in version 1.5.2 (1444866) workspace Client for Windows, it is possible to redirect the folder to the client workspace. According to the release notes should be a mapped drive. Is it possible to use a UNC here?

    Best regards

    Carsten

Yes, it is certainly possible... Here is an example of installation parameter using the variable username and a UNC path:

    workspace agent.exe /v DATA_SYNC_FOLDER=\\ServerName\ShareName\^%USERNAME%\Horizon

Be sure to remember the escape character ^ if using variables.

  • Corrupt the game folder

    My PC:
    Win 7 ultimate N 64-bit
    Intel i7-860
    8g RAM
    1 TB HARD DRIVE

    My problem:
When I try to manually add a link to the game folder by dragging the .exe file or a shortcut to the folder nothing happens.

Initially I had AOE III, Fallout 3 and other games installed. They worked perfectly and has appeared in the "Games" folder in the start menu.

I went to open today and the AOE III and Fallout 3 had disappeared from the folder 'games '. All other games are always present and working.

Currently, I can always hide and restore the hidden games. Microsft update can add files in the game folder. He did so today by installing an update for windows live games after that this problem occurred.

I noticed that in "start > all programs > games" pointers to the Games folder all files appear with their targets, with the exception of AOE III and Fallout 3 "» When I click with the right button on their respective folders and go to properties there is an empty space for target. That's because their goals do not exist in the folder of the game, and there is no shortcut.

The games in question are still installed and work properly otherwise.

I think that this problem is related to a corruption with the game folder.
Rights at least pointers to the files .exe for the game, possibly in writing for the program which prevent the user additions.

Ive tried to find the solution but I've hit a wall.

    Hi Elian152,

You can run 2 methods to check whether the problem is resolved.

    Method 1: System Restore

Check if the games are listed in the Games folder, after the restoration of the system

Follow the steps in the link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features/system-restore

    Method 2:

Create a new user account and check if it helps.

    To create a user account

    1. to open user accounts, click the Start button, select Control Panel, click user accounts and parental control, and then click user accounts.

    2. click on manage another account.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    1. click on create a new account.

2 type the name you want to assign to the user account, click an account type, and then click on create an account.

For more details follow the link.

    Create a user account
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/create-a-user-account

If the problem is resolved after you have created a new user account, you can fix the damaged user account.

Follow the steps in the link to fix the damaged user account: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/Windows7/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile
