Folio size

How do I know what size my folio is earlier than upload them to Apple for approval?

As Martin says, you can see the size of your folio in the Adobe Content Viewer library when you click the item in the gear button to eliminate the problems. Or, you can view the article .folio files in the temporary folder.

If your folio seems unusually large, here are a few things to check:

(1) don't embed you great videos?

(2) never let you link to a .html file "go" in a superposition of web? For example, if the .html file in your Documents folder (rather than in a subfolder with only the assets used), all files and subfolders in the Documents folder are downloaded.

(3) for overlays of passthrough as sequences of images and the image pans did you use save for Web to save files in a compressed JPG format?

(4) for the iPad, have you created folios of 1024 x 768 in PDF format? It is the smallest file size. There is no need to create folios PDF 2048 x 1536 for the iPad from the retina.

Thanks in advance to all who participate in this forum.

I am a Publisher edition and I create my first APP with DPS publication. This publication will be a magazine like application for 3 iPad and retina onward models, mainly including images full pages.

Designer and I created a paper folio, 2048 x 1536. Images full pages in folio paper are also 2048 x 1536, of course.

But here's my question: a second designer said we do it wrong. He goes on to say that we don't need to create a 2048 x 1536 folio for iPad document 3. His point is: the folio must be 1024 x 768. The images presented in this folio document are those that should be 2048 x 1536.

I don't know what makes any sense, where my doubts.

The APP we did shows no problem apparent on the Adobe Viewer, both in 3 iPad and iPad 2. But the second continues designer saying that the APP is rejected due to bad folio size, no matter we can see 100% OK in the Adobe viewer.

    1. could someone please confirm that the paper folio is OK at 2048 x 1536?

    2. could someone please confirm that a DPS APP at 2048 x 1536 see OK both in the retina display and iPad 1 and 2?

    Thanks for your help.

Ah, sorry! Missed that part. Check our our guide to publishing multiple render items of retina display in the simple editing applications: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/digitalpublishingsuite/articles/building-multi-rendition-artic les.html.

  • Folio-size maximum (single-folio apps)

    Hello

I'm looking for the maximum folio-size single-folio apps.

Can someone help me in this case?

    Thank you in advance!

    Kind regards
    Sebastian

I think it's around 2 GB, but it is best that keep you less than 700 to 800 MB.

  • The file section folio size massively with more buttons

    Hello

We are about to finish a DPS project and now have serious problems with the sizes of folio.

We did all the usual things to do smaller folios (cropped out each image to the adjusted size, pdf articles, overlays vektor etc..)

So, we did some tests and discovered a really strange behavior:

We have a single article which the MSO State containing 7 photo full screen and seven buttons (with the same images as thumbnails) that lead to appropriate articles.

First, we tried to experiment with the deletion of images of the ASM, but this has no effect on the size of the file. But as we removed the seven buttons on the file size has changed from 10 MB to 52 MB!

The size of all assets (images and a User.ID file) article is only 12 MB.

Is this a known bug? Is there a way around it? It's a kind of crazy when a downloaded folio has 4 times the size as all his property?

    Thanks in advance,

    Nils

    Hi Bob,

    Sorry for my late reply.

I did some further testing and came to the conclusion that no key is responsible for the size of large files.

It is the superposition of adjustment after all (sorry for pointing the wrong way). As I passed the "Raster" slideshow, "Vector" of the file size decreases a lot. (I thougt I checked this but actually I have is that in the vertical articles.)

However, I didn't know that the export format has such an impact on the size of the file. This article from 52MO to 17 MB. And it was only a slideshow with 7 screens (retina) inside.

Change all slide shows in "folio" our 50 article (about 35) decreased the size of 576 MB to 243 MB file!

    Thank you

  • Folio size Info

Is it possible that we could know the size in MB of the entire Folio publication before it is downloaded in LCA within the unit?

I find Folio producer so unusable, same sort of obscure, it does not provide much information, and I want to know how heavy will be my .folio file before going any further...

    Thank you!

I was talking with an engineer today (he worked on the new user interface), and there is a way to see the size of the folios in Adobe Content Viewer. It is not well as the more obvious method!

When you are in the library on the parameters at the top gear shooting to the right and select the menu item to remove the folios of your device. The library will change a bit and you'll see:

    (1) the size of full folio for any folio completely downloaded

    (2) the downloaded amount and the total size of folio for any partially downloaded folios

According to me, which also shows in both custom visualizers.

  • Download of Folio in the new Viewer size

In the updated Viewer is there a way to watch the folio download size? In the previous version when downloading, it showed the MB and size as well as the process bar.

Yes, but it's weird. Tap the gear icon in the library and choose "Remove from the iPad." All downloaded folios folio size appears.

  • Folio file size limit

In the past they were file folios and resources of folio size limits. I believe that folios and resources could not go more than 100MB.

Is their a limit of size of file with a folio and its resources? What is the limit?

What happens if the limit is exceeded?

    Dave

Article size is currently limited to 2 GB. We have seen individual articles of 750 MB in size but as mentioned previously, you don't start hitting timeout problems of downloading content of this size. We are currently implementing a maximum article size based on the practical limits of download and download times and stricken timeout values.

This review will be applied at the time of article creation, and you cannot create more than our maximum size items. Please note that we are working on the architectural changes that will allow the creation of more content, but that will take time to implement.

Currently to get the best performance, you should have all your content on your local computer (not on a network drive), close all additional applications, get the machine the fastest as possible, with the most memory. The article size is directly proportional to the speed at which you can group an article and get it uploaded to the server.

  • How can you specify which pages appear in the Android to an application version and not every existing folio?

My adobe account is configured to publish on an existing iPad app. I am trying to create an Android app, but some of the features of our iPad-designed problems do not work on various Android tablets. So I've created specific to Android folios that eliminate these features. These slips are the same dimensions as the iPad folios, however, Android applications, I create recognizes that all published as downloadable folios on this tablet (designed by iPad or Android-designed). That I don't want.

Is there a way to specify which will publish the folios of what version of the app? My research shows that I needed to create a whole new folio size and specify the size when creating my controls rendering app and setting. But of course, to do this, 'you must publish at least a folio [in size] for [this size] may appear in the context menu.ยป (From the page on the configuration of the refunds, a limitation which seems counterintuitive and, well, stupid).

    Thoughts?

In this case, where the sheets are the same size, you must create a separate account of publication and publish Android folios to this account. Point the viewer Android on the new account, rather than on behalf of your iPad.

"Renditions" will not help you because they depend on the size of the pixels, and you are publishing the folios of the same size for iOS and Android.

  • iPhone screen size question...

Now that the iPhone only 6 more is out if you were to create an iPhone sized app would be to build? IPhone 5 and evolve? Or the iPhone 6 Plus and evolve down?

Use the format of folio iPhone 5 (1136 x 640). Large folio sizes are not yet supported.

  • Bad draw Nexus 7 Folio

We produce 2 folios by number. 768 x 1024 and 320 x 480. For some reason any Nexux 7 (old version) is by pulling the small folio size. Can you suggest any way why this is happening?

In our original post-R30 (sometimes in the early - to mid-April) I hope to have UI in the Android App generator native where you will be able to say explicitly that 768 x 1024 is the size of folio for tablets and the folio of 320 x 480 for Smartphones. Which should solve this problem when you use the Android native Viewer.

  • RESOLUTION OF DPS FOLIO PDF

    Hello

I followed all the instructions manual Adobe DPS and created PDFs (2048 x 1536, 144ppi) for my iPad folio 3.

Yet, when I download the folio of the Adobe Viewer, images look at shit, they are shredded, and you can see pixels.

    2013-12-06 15.35.27.jpg

However when I publish the same folio on the iPad 2 everything seems smooth.

    2013-12-06 15.35.29.png

Can you help me to define the process of good compression for images? (I am exporting from photoshop, save as pdf and then linking to indesign... that should work normally).

    Best

    Mikolaj

InDesign files any of the folio size, should be 1024 x 768

and to PDF, which is even more important. My guess is that it is a

huge folio with regards to the size of the file is.

2048 x 1536 folios are to be created in PNG or JPG, as "refunds". PDF

folios are well enough designed to operate at all resolutions using a

108ppi for images of dithering is to halfway between the 72 dpi for

iPad 1 and 2 and 144 for iPads of the retina.

  • Best way to publish articles of 2048 x 1536 in a folio of 1024 x 768?

    Hello

This question may be asked several times before, but I have found no satisfactory solution - sorry for that.

    So here's the problem:

We created all our Articles for a folio of px to 2048 x 1536 at a size of 2048 x 1536 px. The publication process worked perfectly well.

We decided to use this resolution (although this is not recommended, I know). We tested to download an article from 2048 x 1536 in a folio of 1024 x 768 via indesign generator of folio and view it in adobe on an iPad2 content viewer - and it worked perfectly fine.

But now that we have copied our articles in the folio of a folio of 1024 x 768 px producer and tried to publish, it did not work at all. The notice said, one of our articles has a different resolution than the folio size - of course, I know that. Each article has. I thought that it was no problem.

So, what's the best way to publish our 2048 x 1536 px items in a folio of px to 1024 x 768 for the iPad 2?

    See you soon

    Jan Hufnagel

PS: I read the doc to help adobe on the "rendition".

If you import or add items from 2048 x 1536 to the folio of 1024 x 768, it should work, but you might see some weird behaviors with pan and zoom images. If you copy the articles, which will not work. Copied items must have the same dimensions as the folio of target.

  • Folios not updated

    Hello

Folios don't seem to be updated on my Android device.
Content is updated In-design, and I can see the items update in the Folio Editor (the line browser).

But no updates appear on the Adobe content viewer (Android), signed to / restarted the device.

My folio contains 17 articles it contains, is there a limit to how many items you can have in a folio? folio size is around 100 MB.

Any help please, I have clients waiting to view the update.

    Thank you

you don't need to remove it in folio Builder only in the app Builder.

Add icons of stuff etc. u must have it all in the right hand and then you just press upload.

    It takes that long.

Well let's hope that you understood.

  • Location of the file FOLIO

    Hi all

When you use the option "View Folio" in InDesign CS6, I get the file Folio opens automatically with Adobe Content Viewer, could you please confirm where the Folio actually get files?

    Thank you

    Praveen

You should not access or store files of Folio directly. Adobe does not have direct access to the files of folio or storage/distribution directly. You can share fact sheets using the Folio producer/Builder Panel.

About you in the second question, earlier, the sheets were stored in acrobat.com and it used to show folio size, but it's no more the case now, so you can not save on acrobat.com. All downloaded folios are available in Folio Producer and you can access the folio from there.

  • JPG sluggish Folio

I was wondering if anyone can offer some insight...

I have a horizontal folio only 2048 x 1536 implemented with 5 items. Each section has 6 pages. In the test initially with a 'live' InDesign document, the folio was very slow when it came to vertically scroll the pages. I thought that this could be a problem of having to load the elements individually, so I exported on every page in high quality jpeg format and re-imported them in the folio. That is how it is currently implemented.

Each jpeg is about 500-700 KB and when I publish to the iPad, the vertical scrolling problem is the same. He stutters / takes 2-3 seconds to load vertical pages. By running tests, I wonder if there is a maximum number of pages that you have in each article. I have two sections currently downloaded and the file for the folio size is only 7 MB. Scrolling has worked when I downloaded the folio with png compression but it inflated the size of the file a little.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated!

JPEG is on the slower option that you can select for content ipad high resolution. The JPEG decoder provided by iOS is, ah, pokey. You're much better off the publication in PDF format.
