Folios tests in Android

We have published with success of folios and iPad applications and now have created our first native Android application. The Android app was loaded on a phone and the APP loads correctly.

There is no folios? We try to use the same folios of the iPad (replicas), but none of them are appearing in the application.

Must the app be living in the game of Google to see folios?

It seems that I'm missing a few pieces of basic information and documentation Android is thin.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Christopher

If folios are published in your public/detail account then you are right, they will not show because the app is not direct in the store and we cannot get the price information for them.

If you just want to test the folios themselves you should use Adobe Content Viewer in the store and connect with the publication name to username/password account. Then you can check the contents of your folio works properly on Android.

  • Folios dual orientation android

    Hello!

I created a folio dual orientation in a magazine app that, so far, offered only content through folios horizontal (landscape). Each item on the folio dual orientation, I just created comes in a vertical (portrait) and horizontal (landscape) view. When I look at the magazine in the content viewer that everything works for all devices; but when I publish, I have a problem, whne I open the application and download the content on tablets Android and smartphones. That's the problem I get: I get that article in portrait mode, even if I turn the unit - it is impossible to get the view of the landscape.

Could you please say what? Thanks - Flavia - magazine TKART

I made contact with Flavia and tested it. For the benefit of all, it seems to be a specific problem of the 31.x. We tested this in the last spectator Android 32.4 and everything works fine.

  • Problem installation file test on Android Tablet

I'm having difficulty to visualize a folio on a Nexus 7 tablet. I created a .apk file and installed on the device. When I run the application splash screen appears, but then just a gray screen follows. A few details:

    • When I created the .apk I double fact that the ID of the application/product was the same in the Folio producer and what I entered in the App generator. (I had a similar problem when I was testing on the iPad. The product ID of dual control solved the problem.)
    • The device has wireless access.
    • I use InDesign CS6 and the last set of desktop tools.
    • I use the latest version of the App Builder (2.4.0) DPS.
    • I tried specifying the version of the viewer 23 and 24. None worked.
    • I tried specifying a strict interpretation for Android 7 "devices. He has not made a difference.
    • I use an ID from Adobe that is unique to this Android folio Builder. I used this ID ID title.
    • The folio was published in private and free.
    • The folio downloads and works as expected when viewing through the content viewer application.

    Thank you.

For the folio to appear in your application, you must publish in the form of 'Public', so publish as 'Public' and 'free '.

  • Ask bike g to test L Android

I was wondering if I could L Android beta-test, am I registered for the Motorola feedback network...

If there is a test of pre-release of motorcycle on the G, testers who are selected will be contacted directly via their e-mail registered.

There is no way of knowing if there will be a test, or who will be chosen. I've never seen a beta-test of any OS if - soaking test really is a market for the finished product testing.

Register on MFN is the best way to get on the list.

  • Test application android without device

I'm about to start creating Flash interaction that I'd like to run on android tablets. I do not have a tablet.

I know that it is possible to test on a virtual device.

Can all sages members tell me the best way to do it? I would be very grateful for any help.

    Keith

Edit: I see there content Simulator. Large.

Your best option would be to get something like this:

    http://www.Amazon.com/GP/product/B00TSUGXKE/ref=s9_acss_bw_cg_odsbnc_1a1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX 0DER

It performs well enough to test and should be at least as fast as an emulator. Having a real device, it will be easier to test think like multitouch.

You will notice that it is not in stock until December 27, if you need something sooner $80 heat HD would be a good alternative.

If you do not need to test the multitouch, or $ 50 is too hard to pass, watch the emulators like this:

KKKKK 2 million users of Android and counting

It is possible to use the emulator provided with the Android SDK, but it is difficult to set up and slow to start. But, it would allow you to debug the tests, I don't think that it works with Karl. This works with devices of fire.

  • Refunds or unique Folio for native Android?

I'm not sure what the best strategy is for native Android folios. Should I build a unique in 1280 x 800 folio or rendered at 1280 x 800, 1920 x 1200 and 2560 x 1600 as described in Digital Publishing Suite help | Implementation of "renditions" to viewers Android native?

Do I need three sizes of graphics (as described in the developers documentation Android) if I use the "renditions"?

    Thank you

    Joe

I think you are fine with 1280 x 800 sheets. They intensify nicely on the larger machines. Create record sets if the folio of 1280 x 800 doesn't work well for some reason any.

  • multi Folio pricing in Android Market

    Hello

I'm a little confused how I set the price for each edition of my magzine in the Android Market. I work with DPS Pro. After that I created my app Builder Viewer I download on the Android Market as free. Each of my folios I then publishes in the Public and retail sales. At no time - I wonder what I charge for these editions in my application. When they are pushed to my application there is a 'Buy' button but pressing that produced an error "the item you have requested is not available for purchase" any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

You need to set up the billing application on the Android market developers site. See the following article:

  • can I design for all android tablets with a folio of size?

I want to reduce my workflow. Of course. A folio of design single size works for all android, including fire kendal tablets?

    Thank you

Yes, you can use a size of folio for all Android devices. Usually, a format 16 x 9 works fine if you are only interested in Android devices and do not already have a design of the iPad.

Note that we do not support in-app on peripheral Kindle purchase.

  • Look at a size of folio (in MB) of an Android version

    Hi all

Does anyone know of a way to see the file size of a folio filled in Android? In iOS, there is the option to "Remove iPad issues" and it will show the size in megabytes.

Only, the Android's Adobe Content Viewer version allows archiving and can't find the size of the file.

    Thank you

    Sam

There is a roundabout way to see the download size and the size exploded on the disc (it is a Nexus device):

1 erase all data of your App. Make sure that you have not downloaded anything in the day elapsed since the application.

    2. download the rendering.

    3. go in settings--> using data--> select Wifi/GSM, depending on how you have downloaded, then select your App. slide your finger on the chart to refine the bars of time until today. It comes to the actual download size.

    4. go in Apps--> select your application. The data field is the amount of space the folio contains exploded onto the disc.

    I hope this helps.

  • Reconstruction of the Folios Android

Hello, I'm looking for suggestions on the workflow for Android 7 '' tablet. We currently have applications in both iTunes store GooglePlay (and Amazon). So far, I had used 1024 x 768 to build folios between all devices. However, we have just bought a Google Nexus 7 and downloaded our app only to discover that our folios are unreadable due to the proportion 4:3 and 3:2. I would like to rebuild our folios for the Android Tablet but since they are already published I do not know where to start.

If I take the approach of 'Lazy Susan' by Bob #1 scenario (referring to article "creating DPS Folios for Android devices") and reuse my iPad and do documents a size of 1600 x 1200, would I need to:

    (1) do not publish and then republish the folio?

    (2) is it a good idea to reuse the the same publication ID?

    (3) if so, what happens to the version from Amazon?

    (4) does it matter if I decide to do a 'V' guidance document only when it was previously the two?

    (5) will be the user then download the folio 'new' and delete/Archives of the folio published previously?

I guess if I choose to either go "all the way" and/or "Sensible shortcuts", these two processes would have the same questions (don't not publish/republish, etc..) I think it's good to add "renditions" at this stage because it is ' sort of ' a 'new '... Is this correct?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

If you looked at your application on a larger HD Android tablet, you'd be even more disappointed what looks like your folio of 1024 x 768. It looks like a small stamp in the middle of a black screen. It is the big drawback of the 'Lazy Susan' approach, at least for now. (In a future release, Android viewers should be able to evolve the contents upwards or downwards. That will simplify things, and I need to revise my orientation.)

    (1) there is no reason to not publish/republish the folio No. Simply create a new format 1600 x 1200 using the eponymous Folio, ID and product Date of Publication settings used in the folio of 1024 x 768. Of course, the problem with this approach is that 1600 x 1200 is still 4:3 aspect ratio, which does not look great on the 16:9 aircraft - ish. Consider creating 1280 x 800 for the Android source files and re-use for each rendition.

    (2) what do you mean by reusing the same "publication ID"? If you mean using the same ID of role/title Application for iOS and Android, yes you can, but it often complicates things. It is generally easier to create separate accounts (title IDs) for iOS and Android. If you mean something else by "publication ID", please specify.

    (3) the Amazon version should be fine, unless you have activated strict refunds (which you don't want to do in your case). Still, I can't understand the question.

    (4) it is not a problem to create a folio double orientation for rendering and a folio of single-direction for another interpretation.

    (5) which is a little tricky. If a user has already opened the application, the spectator is part rendering of 1024 x 768 and unfortunately does not check for a rendering again until the application itself in uninstalled/reinstalled.

Regarding your question on the addition of "renditions" at this point, that's perfectly fine. Addition of "renditions" doesn't hurt existing users, and this makes things better for your new users.

The key to success is to make sure that you configure your source files, so that they can be easily imported. Most of the editors take the road to "Shortcuts" sensible and create different renditions based on two or three sets of source files.

  • Android application Viewer contains Android and Ipad Folio

Hi, I am setting up an android Viewer application and have successfully crossed producer folio and generator app DPF - now, I check the .apk file on my Samsung Tablet and am surprised by TWO folios to my "library". I also have the iPad app that should not be there.

Do I have to use two different app - IDS (identifiers containing a valid e-e-mail-address) for the Android and the iPad version of my Viewer application?

Need help please, I'm stuck. Thank you very much!

Android apps are always folio many viewers. So if you have published two folios by using the same title ID (account applications) they both will show in your library. Remember, an Android device adapts folios to adapt to the screen, while the iPad can only display folios with a 4:3 aspect ratio. See creating Folios DPS for Android devices. You can use accounts different applications to publish your folios to circumvent this problem.
