  Sorry, it's an error in the documentation. You will be able to add a HTML banner in Web-based DPS App Builder in the version coming v30 (scheduled for 15 March).

  Please I need some help here. We are currently in the 2nd edition of our magazine iPad: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/absolute-photo-magazine/id719597521?mt=8

  We try to create a version of our app advertisers that can display on all platforms (iPad & Desktop). What we have done is created a delegate account and folio builder Panel, we shared the specific folio with this delegate and sent the login credentials to some advertisers. This allows them to display using the viewer of content on an iPad.

  I am also trying to export the .folio file in order to send it to specific people to view using viewer content on the desktop (PC and MAC). In the example here http://www.e3zine.com/desktopviewer.html there is a file single .folio but when I use the export function later in the publication that it exports a zip file that contains all the items in the form of files individual .folio. Is it possible to export this folio as a .folio only one file?

  This isn't something that is supported by the DPS. For your windows users (if they are on Windows 8.1) download Adobe Content Viewer Windows Store and then they can connect just as they would on an iPad. For Mac, they use an iPad to preview content.

  Yes, you can use a size of folio for all Android devices. Usually, a format 16 x 9 works fine if you are only interested in Android devices and do not already have a design of the iPad.

  Some time ago, I created ten folios through an application multi-folio with in-app purchases for the Apple iStore, ran into some issues (which have been resolved by Bob Bringhurst, thank you once again) and now I want to develop for Android. The creation itself was easy, that slips are already online, but do not without falling on key issues.

  To define my problem:

  • The splash screen does not. Only, it takes as much space as possible and grows around a third of the screen. Is there a "fit screen" - box, I missed?
  • The graphics look "rough", naked pixels in a sort of 8-bit-look without the edges soft (or feathers), even if they are PDF. I can't convert them to JPEG format, because I use the same folios as I do for Apple.
  • The effects of the erasure of all overlays are also rough. Slide shows, for example, are punching through their content, without letting that images fade out in the next. Maybe it's important to mention: they were created through the slide show option in the Folio Overlay-menu. The same problem occurs with all the contents that appear and disappear. For example: If you activate a card with a button (i.e. telling the app, to pass the object to the empty state 1 in filled State 2), the application takes one second and the map appears hard, smashing into the window from one moment to another, without the bland smooth as it does on Apple products.
  • And after some time, a minute or two, the application crashes, leaving the customer blocked for a moment, before him eject to the main screen of his camera.

  So far, this is my problem. Honestly, I feel that I missed a few easy step, but necessary for the expansion of Android. Now, the look of folios as some pre-pre-alpha release an Android (with dull graphics and blocks every 60 seconds), while they work fine and smooth on Apple.

  I would be grateful for any advice.

  I tried to put in place the new native Android app on my tab 10 '' in order to get the real "app-feeling."

  Creation and get the App on the Pad works like charm - but it was a pain...

  I have developed Android refunds in landscape mode (1280 * 752) and refunds iPad in portrait and landscape (1024 * 768 / 768 * 1024) with a single identity card - which worked very well until I tried to update to the new native application.

  While the old library was not fixed to a single display mode, the news starts with the portrait and does not charge any interpretation Android (which are made only for landscape / 1280 * 752) as it doesn't appear that the iPad preview blurred.

  Maybe there is a solution or a tip?

  Yes, this specific approach does not work with the Android native Viewer. We are looking for the closest match which is larger than the screen size, so let's choose 1024 x 768.

  Currently, the only solution is to create a separate publication for these "renditions" Android account and point the Viewer to this account.

  I'm working on some changes to App Builder that will make this better, but we won't have that work done in our next release. I hope that we can adapt the rejection after.

  Unfortunately, you cannot change the format of an existing folio. I think that at this point, your best bet is to create a new custom folio of 1028 x 771. Because this folio has the same 4:3 1024 x 768 dimensions, you can add or import all of your source documents in this new folio without having to change the source folios.

  Not in the recent future, there are many challenges right now, including easily share Android apps and some other issues that need to be sorted out before such a release; Although there are plans to get it in the future, he don't know when would it be possible. I'm not sure on the actual plans on this issue, but I guess at least not until the end of this ear or next year.

  If we have designed the document 768 x 1024 and export twice the size for example, 600 x 1024 and 768 x 1024. Is it possible to export the file in folio for two times more sizes or we must design separately (1024 x 600) for this?

  It's true. If you want to publish four different device resolutions, you create four versions of each of your layouts in InDesign (a version for each page size) and download them on four different folios. Four slips should be identical except for the size of the page metadata: in this way, your viewer multi application should automatically pick page of folio size most appropriate for the device it runs, hiding the other folios of the library of the application screen.

  I find this very hard to explain with words. I hope that makes sense for you. Otherwise, I'll try and draw a diagram!

  We have published with success of folios and iPad applications and now have created our first native Android application. The Android app was loaded on a phone and the APP loads correctly.

  There is no folios? We try to use the same folios of the iPad (replicas), but none of them are appearing in the application.

  Must the app be living in the game of Google to see folios?

  It seems that I'm missing a few pieces of basic information and documentation Android is thin.

  If folios are published in your public/detail account then you are right, they will not show because the app is not direct in the store and we cannot get the price information for them.

  If you just want to test the folios themselves you should use Adobe Content Viewer in the store and connect with the publication name to username/password account. Then you can check the contents of your folio works properly on Android.

• Problems with the native Android observer

  When using the new native Viewer occur a few new issues alongside those already discussed. Here are a few remarks:

  -Library is quite often 'lose' folios, for example 8 folios, I see just 2. How to solve this problem is the disconnection and then again log in. very unpleasant .

I would like to prevent the definition of "fit to scale" in Folio Overlay due to unexpected errors on iPad (iframe is climbed to cca 1/4 the size of the box, even if the iframe and box have correct dimensions)

  Hi Martin,

  We have a long timeout on the recovery of the cover images, so you shouldn't see any fail to download, but we always try to reproduce. However, your statement on loging and leads me to believe that you could talk about the end of connection which is 30 minutes. If this is the case, then the latter is treated partially this next version; as long as you are in the Viewer, it should keep you connected. The next step, we'll add is to prevent you from being disconnected entirely.

  There are also quite a few taken stability changes the library for this next version.

  You don't need Service URL and URL of the Service Auth for Android applications. Simply specify the ID of the Integrator.

• Scaling a folio for ipad to fit on iphone?

  I'm new to DPS - has been a steep learning curve!

  Wanted to ask advice on best practices to create folios for multiple devices. All my Google search told me HOW I "could" do it... but no best practice articles.

  So, I converted a magazine in a folio iPad (1024 x 768) and his great work on the ipad (with the exception of the Youtube bug iOS8) - but asked me to make it work on an iPhone (as a backup).

  So my question was: I do (or is there a way) to just say the folio iPad version wide to fit on the screen of the iPhone (the letters/pillar box) or I have to create a 2nd layout for each acticle? OR... create an altogether separate version?

  You advice would be greatly appreciated.

  1024 x 768 folios appear not on iPhones. You must create a 480 x 320, 960 x 640 or 1136 x 640 for the folio appears on the iPhone. The viewer of the iPhone evolves upwards but not downwards, so the folio of 960 x 640 will appear not on an iPhone 3 g and a folio 1136 x 640 will appear not on an iPhone 4S. One option is to create a set of folio renditions, such as 480 x 320 and 11360 x 640, to account for all the features of the iPhone. Search for "dps refunds" for info.

  Regarding the creation of iPhone iPad source files source files, your best bet is to create page layouts in InDesign. There are a number of different approaches you can take, but I like Center or content globally and rebuild the design on the alternative plan. If it's a HTML source file, just create a new folio which is a iPhone files and import HTML items.

• How to pass the legacy of a native Android app with minimal interruption

  It got to the point where I am recommending that my client switch their DPS app for Android native heritage. Can anyone offer an overview of the process of moving to an existing application? Most of the Adobe support documents are written for the start of a new application in native format. I need to give the customer an idea of how the transition will affect existing subscribers on the Android platform (i.e. will they need to download a new application, or if it will work as an update) and what we can do to keep the readers if they do not need to download an entirely new application.

  What complicates the situation, is that the likely customer want keep the legacy app so that we can to continue the offer on Amazon, because Kindle devices represent 60% of our non - iOS downloads.

  To replace the legacy viewer existing, just use the same ID of beam used in the legacy application when you generate the native Android Viewer and then submit the application as a new version in the portal of the Google developers play. To locate the ID of group for the legacy Viewer, open the DPS App Builder desktop version and look at the list of applications. It may include a .air prefix, depending on when the application is built. If so, use the .air prefix when you specify the ID of group for the native Viewer, even if it is not an AIR application. The Bundle ID just needs to be the same. If you want two separate applications - that - I do not recommend using a different beam ID and submit it as a new application developers portal.

  The Amazon app is a different application that is unrelated to the game of Google app. You can continue to leave the application in the Amazon Appstore.
