• Satellite A660 windows without CD in box problems

  Hi all

  I bought a brand-new a660 satellite of the domayne on the gold coast in Australia on their boxing day sales.
  After getting it home I noticed that there is no CD in the box and the seal was broken, although it looked closed inside.

  I must have read it, but didn't.
  Now, perhaps due to a virus do not know many things does not work, IE the volume control on the taskbar, bing and a lot of files that I download say they cannot find the location of the file (even if I'm clicking on it)

  My question is the laptop should come with any cd? And is it possible to restore the previous situation

  I m asking myself why you didn t take a look at the user manual which must be preinstalled on the HARD drive. Usually there is a shortcut on the desktop ;)

  That could be something that no recovery disc is provided with the laptop because there is a tool preinstalled called creative recovery disk Toshiba that creates a recovery disk.

  As indicated by the user above; You can also try the recovery disk that can be activated by pressing F8 (the laptop start upward while) then choose fix my computer-> drive HARD recovery

• Search box in Windows 7 to come with the program association problem

  I am running Windows 7 SP1, 64-bit operating system.

  For the last few months there was a problem with my search box of the start menu.  I can search for in any folder without problems, but when I type a query in the search box and select "Search everywhere" it comes up with 'there is no associated program to perform the selected action. Please install a program or, if such is already installed, create an association in the default programs control panel. "I have no problem if I just type a search query in the search box and let it load suggestions, only when I hit 'search all' above the search box.

  

  I have searched extensively for a solution online, but so far running checkdisk and ' sfc/scannow' does not work.

  You don't do something wrong, I just use a large number of protocols in my work and have many installed applications that use them.  An example of a protocol that we both share would be the mailto: Protocol.

  Frame background bit: on the internet, you are more familiar with the two protocols, HTTP: and HTTPS:.  You might also be aware of the FTP: file transfer protocol.  To test a Protocol, you can type in your box to run and click OK to see what is happening.  For example, if you "start" text only "HTTP:" (without the quotes), you will have your browser pop open (on a blank page, since you specify nothing after the Protocol for it to open).  Even with MAILTO: causing open your e-mail program (if you have included an email address after the: brand, you would get an e-mail message préadressé).

  In any case, it seems that your research protocol has been removed. Creating a profile on the computer usually will correct it (because each user has their own set of preferences of Protocol), and then you'd have to drag your files to the new profile and make "your" again.

  But first, you might try to remove and reinstall the search within Windows System.  Here's how:

  1. In Control Panel, select programs > Turn Windows has or not
  2. Search Windows Search in the list and turn it off, click OK, let him finish and reboot as requested.
  3. Go back and turn it on, let it install and there still restart (Yes, a lot of reboot)

  At this point, it should be reset and I hope that the Protocol is implemented again.

  What are the possible difference in win 7 and win 7 operating system SP1 causing this problem?

  I'm new to Mozilla Firefox, which seems more to a wall climbing of a learning curve. But I like it much better than the Google home page.

  • I use a Toshiba laptop and a Windows 7 system.
  • Mozilla Firefox start page has a Google search box in the middle of the page. The police in and around the box looks like a 4. Whatever it is, I can't see the words easily.
  • Click on the drop-down tools, click Options, click the content changed police 12 and clicked on OK. The police has not changed on the start page.
  • I went to the option advanced and not clicked the box to allow Web sites to use their own fonts, but that did not help at all.
  • Then, looked everywhere in the Google support site, but I couldn't find a solution.

  Perhaps using the word "police" in my research is my problem! I looked for a solution for well over an hour.

  Help, please! If things continue to go, I'm going to need an anti-depressant.

  Looks like you may have a virus or other malware. Get your updated antivirus program and start safe mode.  Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan mode without failure.  To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode.  Then run a complete system scan.

  First of all, I would not recommend installing Windows 7 Service Pack 1 as it is still in beta test phase and is not stable and ready for release. Secondly, I would like to use Internet Explorer instead of Mozilla to validate and download on the Microsoft site.
