• Steps to update of JRE or JDK in Linux Server for EBS 12.1.3

  1. Is there a document that I can return to order updated JRE or JDK in Linux Server for EBS 12.1.3 for me?
  2. If it's an environment of multi nodes, do I need to update on every single node?
  3. Here is the output of the command 'java-version'

  Java version "1.6.0_24".

  OpenJDK (IcedTea6 1.11.1) runtime environment (rhel - 1.45.1.11.1.el6 - x86_64)

  OpenJDK 64-bit Server VM (build 20, 0 - b12, mixed mode)

  If I want to update to the latest java which is 1.8.xxx do I need to install the version 1.7.xx first?

  3. It is the Java software that comes with the operating system. It is not used by EBS.
     JDK 7 is the version the most recent can be used by the application and database layers.
     JRE 8 can be used with the client tier.

  Is there a public API to Oracle for expense - approval and reject functionality?

  I couldn't find one, the only way to reproduce the functionality of the EBS is using workflow.

  I'm looking at one for EBS - R12.1 and R12.2.

  Had opened a SR with Oracle Support to find out if there is a public API for the expense report - approval and reject functionality.

  Currently there is no, but Oracle has open an enhancement request.

  What it means? Under Linux, you just need 32-bit jdk installation?

  After that, I followed the document 1439822.1 and downloaded the next jdk:

  If you want to extend the pages of EBS, you need to use the OA framework for 12.2 version.  There is no native support for the extension of EBS by using ADF pages.

  If you want to build the ADF custom applications that integrate with EBS you can watch using the SDK of the EBS (see My Oracle Support) that offers a number of design patterns to allow you to do.

  With respect to the version of Fusion Middleware based on EBS 12.2, take a look at the notes 1911660.1.  11.1.1.6 is currently the base version supplied with 12.2.4 with the 11.1.1.7 version is the highest version supported.

  We are implementing EBS 12.1.3 and OLIVIER 7.9.6.4 (on obiee 11.1.1.7.0) and I'm trying to understand a concept based on the integration of SSO between EBS & OLIVIER:

  -For the integration of SSO between EBS & OBIEE to work, I must explicitly create any user to OBIEE, and then map it to a particular user to EBS? Or is there no need to create any explicit user in OBIEE?

  (I couldn't find it mentioned in the documents of EBS & OLIVIER/OBIEE integration that I talked yet)

  What you say is correct. Add to your points

  the user does not need to be already exist in OBIEE, but you create application roles in similar EM for the responsibilities that you have created in EBS. Now, you would be assign responsibilities to users in EBS for example: financial OBIEE will have users ABC, XYZ, so when you create the same Application roles in the EM as EBS you would be assign these roles to application to SA different regarding the names of responsibility EBS eg: financial OBIEE application roles would be related to SA Financials so when the user clicks on that responsibility in EBS to navigate to OBIEE would use the application role in EM and give the user access to finance SA to form analysis. Similarly, you would be assign created in EM to the catalog application roles to access respective dashboards

  My task is to configure ebs 12.1.3 and db 11.2.0.3 on OUL5x64 (ap1/db1)

  Issues related to the:

  Just want to know your opinion to see which way is shorter and save myself a few times.

  (1) install ebs 12.1.1-> upgrade to 12.1.3-> database upgrade to 11.2.0.3

  (2) install ebs 12.1.1-> database upgrade to 11.2.0.3-> upgrade to 12.1.3 ebs

  Please confirm that the default database for 12.1.1 is 11 GR 1 matter?

  If you are referring to executable files under ORACLE_HOME 8.0.6, then it cannot be migrated to 10 g / 11 g - upgrade developer 6i with Oracle Applications 11i [125767.1 ID]

• Help on how to create pages html for EBS

  Hi all
  I am wanting to branch out to the development of some and envisages the creation of pages html customized for EBS.
  One of the examples I would like to make is an html page where the user can select a template (defined in PA) project, enter a project name and submit the request.
  The page will send the data entered via API where the project will be created.
  
  Can someone recommend the best approach to go down? (and not with respect to the actual real example, but for the technology to use i.e. APEX etc..)

• What utilities to install - for EBS 12.1.1 on Ora Linux?

  It's the first time I used Linux environment and I was wondering what utilities, I'll need during installation of EBS and later when using the system in practice.
  
  In windows, I would need to winzip, winrar, ccleaner, firefox, flash player, java, shockwave, tera copy, vlc player and other audio, video players, etc. What will happen in linux environment? I don't want landup in a situation where I go I have some decompress or ISO utility to launch the clean install of EBS accumulated junk files or cannot view a video clip of the installation.

  Our EBS 11i is running on server HP with OS 4.6 RHEL and a single node only. This server was purchased 6 years ago and lately it is show the performance degradation. We want to migrate/upgrade to a model like high-end HP and make a knot of multiples. But the latest HP model doesn't support a minimum version of RHEL 5.
  My question is, is the support for EBS cloning 11i RHEL 4.6 to RHEL 5? How can I migrate EBS 11i with this kind of scenario?

  We have EBS R12 of installation and a separate mini inventory made in APEX on server of Oracle 10 g XE system.
  
  Both systems interacts with others, each data send/receive on both sides.
  
  What will be the best solution for this type of installation? AQ is a good option?
  Can you give me the notes metalink on how to set up QA on EBS?
  Or simply create dblinks and do some concurrent programs that send/receive/process data.
