  We had to stop the FMS, and after we grew up, we discovered that metric collections officer for the duration of the downtime was missing and not populated dashboard FMS,

  We have a hypothesis, that when FMS is down or not accessible by FGLAM on the monitored hosts, that FGLAM still collects its measures and it will grow to FMS when it is returned to the online state.

  The questions are, is it true the assumption? And if it is true, how restore us these metrics data for the mentioned period?

  Measurement of the summary table says "Assessment and collection frequency" is "Every 15 Minutes" then he says "Upload" runs "after each 24 samples." This means that we would not be informed of violations of thresholds of warning and criticism for 15 minutes X 24 samples - 360 minutes? This doesn't seem right, but I can't find a definition of the sample.

  Assuming that none of the values triggers an alert - I guess you will see sample #1 and #25 in the user interface. No intermediaries.
  If your file system is more volatile - you can always change the download interval accordingly.

• Increase in the use of the processor metric collection only

  Is it possible to increase the frequency of the frequency Foglight gathers for a monitored specific host CPU usage? I don't want to increase the frequency of any other metric. Thank you!

  By looking at the properties of the agent for agents to Infrastructure that I deployed then it doesn't look like this is possible. It is possible to change the collection frequency for all of the collection but not individual collections.

  One possibility would be to create a custom agent to group only this CPU metric at a higher frequency. I don't know how we could associate this metric collected by an agent that is customized with the topology host object. I would be interested to know how this would be possible.

  We are experiencing performance issues in our vmware environment and I installed vRealize to see if there are obvious problems. But the resolution of the collection of 5 minutes is too long it is possible to change this to a minute or more than 20 seconds? And if so, how will this affect performance?

  Hi Marcus,

  Yes it is possible to change the interval between two collections to 1 min (you can specify the interval between two collections by minutes), but it is impossible to set in seconds. You can go to the Administration-> Select objects explore the inventory where you need change the collection interval press the button Edit object (yellow pencil) and in the section advanced settings change the interval between two collections.

  Running RAC 11 GR 2 on 64-bit Linux. My cluster database is currently displayed status as metric Collection error in MS. There is an error under the metric link Collection errors, below, yesterday (the db real cars name is there, I've just omitted here). It's an isolated incident that can be erased somehow? Database seems to be fine, officers report regularly and all other parameters are reported.

  Try this solution out of Metalink (think you hit a bug after a re-boot of CARS):

  1. If the objectives are available, create a short power outage for all targets in the cluster.
  2. once the failure is complete, perform the following commands for agent:
  emctl stop agent has.
  b emctl start agent.
  clearstate emctl c agent.
  Download emctl d.
  3. check the status of the target in the console. Targets should be available.

• Toshiba 42L6453D is blacking out for 1 second interval every minute

  I have problems with my Toshiba 42L6453D TV new blacking out [Picture & Sound] channels not HD for 1 second interval every minute or so - HD channels are functioning properly.

  I tried to re-tuning many times, but on some channels this question just keep occurring.

  I also had problems with not only endangered HD channels and have to retune the TV to get back them.

  Any ideas?

  Try resetting the TV to the default settings. I mean back to the factory settings.
  Then retune the channels once more.

  By the way; the TV supports different tuners
  In the worst case, there would be a problem with one of the tuner you are currently using.

  So in my opinion it would be advisable to test the functionality of channel not using an additional set-top box external HD

• function count() throws the error in the EQL query for metric

  I try to use count function in query EQL for metric bar to display the number of occurrences of a record.
  When the record type does not exist, I hope that the function returns the number 0. Instead the lift function a runtime exception and the whole Bar Metric portlet fails, error no. results available. Even if the other components of the metric bar have valid results.

• Metrics polling interval

  Selecting a resource, operations, all events, by selecting a metric and download of csv file.  Look at data, measures of collective management in 5 minute intervals but see a few instances where the interval is between 10 and 30 minutes.  Anyone else seeing similar results?  Concern is how this affects the validity of the measures.

  OK, the data are there... not a problem with the adapter/collector. Open an SR # with GSS to follow up the matter with the CSV export - they may have a workaround solution known for that, but I'm not aware of one off the top of my head. If it is a new bug, they save and mark for the investigation.

  We try to use the new 4.2.0 hyperic HQ and we encounter problems collecting some metrics in Microsoft Sql Server 2005. In particular ' Full Scans/Sec ' but not only. "Pages/sec reads" and writes of pages/sec also seem to be affected by this problem.

  I checked and it seems that these measures are not currently supported.  There is a demand for improvement created for this issue:

  Activation of these parameters is more than just a-commenting on HQ - plugin.xml. HQ will take any counter the metric Basic that is trends upward and adds an equivalent rate based. Therefore the steps to adding the metric:

  (1) remove all references / dry model and the name of metrics. (HQ adds the rate automatically when creating the metric base rate)
  (2) change collectionType in Dynamics trendsup

  When HQ automatically creates rate based metrics, it will use a side "per Minute". To change this per second, add rate = 1 "s" to the tag.
