For older ipads alternative night shift

To my great disappointment, like many other users ipad 2,3,4, I discovered after I upgraded to iOS 9.3 today night shift is not available for my device. I already wrote my complaint to the comments of the Apple. Does anyone know an alternative for the night shift without the jail break?

Thank you.

  1. Go in settings > general > accessibility > Zoom
  2. Activate the Zoom
  3. With three fingers, quickly press three times anywhere on the screen of the iPad or the iPhone.
  4. Press Select filter
  5. Select low light conditions

This doesn't seem to work as I thought.

  • Release of stability for the older iPads?

The latest issue of update of iOS with iPads brings me to this question: what is the probability that Apple could spend some time on a "last updated recommended" for older iPads or (better) start paying more attention to performance degrading effects of new updates of iOS on older devices in general?

I have a 4th gen (MD524LL/A) iPad and with each succeeding iOS update, it becomes more unstable. Frequently, it hangs and needs to restart (either spontaneously, or manually) when browsing in Safari or install app updates. (With automatic updates enabled, the lock-up/reboot issue could occur at any time... at least with manual updates only, the question is more predictable.)  It of really to the point that I'm using my iPhone more at home, simply because I don't want the hassle of restart.

  • Night shift program not on my iPad Air after iOS update

Downloaded the last update for the air to my Ipad but the night shift option under the brightness of the display is not there.

Are you sure that your iPad is an iPad Air?  More old model iPads (prior to iPad Air) can support the night shift.

You can check the back cover.  iPad Air would say A1474 A1475 or A1476.  Or check the settings > general > topic > model and report the result here.

  • I downloaded iOS 9.3 on my iPad generation 4 but the night shift isn't here

After downloading the latest version of the software update, iOS 9.3 on my 4th generation iPad today, the night shift option is not there under display and brightness.  In settings, it indicates the update is underway.  I turned it and then turn the thought that might make a difference, but it didn't.  I downloaded it on my iPhone which is a more recent model and it appears here.  My iPad is too old or it's - it something else?  I was really looking forward to the option of night shade.

  • Is it possible to use an application designed for iPhone/iPad on my iMac or (older) instead of the iPod touch?

Sorry, I don't have an iPhone and I'm not a user app.  But I found one that I really want to get.  The description says that it is designed for an iPhone or an iPad.  Can I download it on my iMac and use iTunes to put on my older iPod touch?  Or just use it on my iMac?  Here is the app in question.  Thank you!

iTunes does not sell at apps for your computer.  All applications are for iPhone/ipad/ipod.

  • Night shift does not not with ios 10 update.

After the update for ios 10 night shift does not move the color of my screen even if it is set to MAX I use an iphone 6

    Hi there, stephaniefromsurrey,

I use night on my iPhone every night. I see that yours stopped working after you have upgraded your iPhone 6 to 10 of iOS. I'll be more than happy to help you get it working again.

Restart your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch - never underestimate the power of a good restart. The forced restart also mentioned in the article don't apply to your situation.

How to backup your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch - the next step to try should not do anything to restore the settings of your iPhone back to their default settings. However, it is always better "to have" a backup for a backup "need."

Reset iPhone settings - go to settings > general > reset > reset all settings to return the default return parameters. Go to settings > display and brightness > night shift. Adjust settings to re-enable a quarter of night and test. If this has not fixed it, continue.

If you don't back up your iPhone before, now would be a great time as the next step is supposed to erase your iPhone completely. I want to be sure that your personal information is safe.

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore the iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings - you'll need to use iTunes on Mac or PC to completely erase your phone. Using your iPhone settings that erase your personal information.

The first time, select "Set up as new iPhone" and skip connecting to iTunes and App Store and iCloud this time. Retest the night shift. If everything works as it should now continue to the next step.

Restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch from a backup - follow these instructions to set all your personal information back to your phone.

  • How to get Night Shift auto sync with sunrise/sunset?

I was able to do on my iPad mini 4 no problem but I don't see any auto-sync it on my iPhone 5, I can only plan manually.

Does anyone know if Yosemite El Capitan has this feature?

I'm not sure that the 'old' devices, but on my iPhone6s running iOS 9.3.1 I go to:

Settings > display and brightness > night shift

Planned and then type/from and select the sunset and the sunrise in the section PLANNING of AUTOMATISER.

  • iOS 9.3 Night Shift

I'm frustrated that the night shift is not available for iPhones older than 5s. One of the highest rated blue-filter applications are also forbidden Apple (f.lux) devices. That leaves me with low screen filters to proportion or an upgrade. I understand that Apple is likely to push updates, but I like my iPhone 5 c and it works well. In addition, it is irresponsible to upgrade at this point, as my current phone is great and the upgrade would waste of metal and plastic. Apple makes products of high quality, but I call them make their last products and make all their devices (including packaging) parts entirely recyclable. In my view, this would include programs such as Night Shift in action on older devices.

Since it is a user support forum, we can not help you with that. You can offer your comments Apple here. In all likelihood, the lack of this feature is due to hardware restrictions. Reality technology.
