For Outlook Express - Mail out is being hung in the Outbox and nothing appears in sent items

Outgoing mail is hung in the Outbox

Your sent items folder is probably corrupted.  Move all messages in the folder to another folder.  Then close OE and delete the file sent items.dbx and OE will create a new one that is not corrupted when you open it.  You may also delete the outbox.dbx file.  Dbx files are hidden.

  • Outlook express mail out stick in Outbox

I hope someone can help me with this one: OUTLOOK EXPRESS:

My sent emails are stuck in the Outbox folder, as this is the new email I write. The messages seem to be trying to get out, but the error code
OX800CCCOD keeps coming back. Incoming emails are fine.
I have configured Outlook Express myself in the past, but this one left me speechless! I tried to uncheck the box "log in using the same password", change the port number from 25 to 2525 and other suggestions on the net: nothing helped.
My computer works very well in all the other respect... I hope that this is just one step that needs to be corrected [a system restore yeided no results].
    I hope someone can help,
    Thank you, Robert Smith.

YW. So you have done have to remove Mail from the port configuration. That's what I first noticed.

Happy that you guessed it sorted.

  • Connect my e-mail yahoo for Outlook Express for Windows XP

I followed the instructions in the wizard, but when I start Outlook, it evokes a box that says: "enter network password". In this box, it lists my server as being: pop.mail.yahoo.com. It then lists my user name (which is OK for yahoo), then he asks for my network password. I get my yahoo password, and nothing happens. He brings just to the top of the same box, as if my password is not their looking for. Also, when I try to send a piece of mail, it does not send in FACT, but it puts in the 'Outbox '. When I go to close Outlook, he asks me if I really want to close it, because I have letters in my Outbox.

Thanks in advance for your comments!

We are talking about Outlook or Outlook Express? You mention both.

If it's a US or CA, Yahoo account, and that you are not subscribed to Yahoo Mail Plus, then you cannot access the account in Outlook Express.

  • How can I fix error 0x800C0133 # for Outlook Express 6

I had been away from my Outlook Express 6 on this computer for several months and when I went to download e-mail messages that have been accumulated, he kept downloading the same emails again and again until there were about 70 000 e-mails between my account from Comcast and Hotmail via Outlook Express.  When I tried to remove them, I could not, then at some point all of my emails have disappeared and I can send emails, but I can't receive them and I get the error message 0x800CO133 and I don't know what to do.  How can I fix it?

    Error number: 0x800C0133 = a corrupt Inbox.

Move any message you want to save to a local folder that you create. Then, remove the problem of Inbox as follows.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

With OE closed, find the box of Inbox.dbx and delete it. Another will be created automatically when you open OE.

    General precautions for Outlook Express:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the processors and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs and account setting changes. Deleted items is probably damaged. On the off chance that you want messages to be saved in deleted items, (a garbage can), move them to a local folder, you create and then follow these steps.

With OE closed, find the DBX file for deleted items and delete it.  Another will be created automatically when you open OE.

  • How to make records with their emails in them to Outlook Express 5 (old pc) for Outlook Express 6 (new pc)?

Here's the situation: old PC (running XP) running Outlook Express 5. I want to export files as well as e-mail in these worms a new pc still running XP but running Outlook Express 6. When you import I can't import Outlook Express 5 stuff, it only gives me the choice between Outlook Express 4 and Outlook Express 6. So any ideas? You really learn these files (emails not only) and the emails from Outlook Express 5 to Outlook Express on the new PC 6 (old PC).

Someone said to upgrade the old pc Outlook Express 5 to Outlook Express 6, and then create an export, but I don't know which would work because if I do an upgrade from 5 to 6 on old PC, he would see even the oldest post which could be seen on Outlook Express 5?

I need to test this theory out before returning to the customer, but both my XP machines running Outlook Express 6, Outlook Express 5, who is older not. Download Outlook Express: I can't find anywhere! I know it came with IE 6 download, but I can't find that IE 6 download anywhere either. Any suggestions?

Ideally I want to just take the Outlook Express 5 files and emails and import them into Outlook Express 6, but the new Outlook Express 5 is not a choice when it comes to import. If I knew for sure I could upgrade Outlook Express 5 on the old pc for Outlook Express 6 and I wouldn't lose those emails and Outlook Express 6 could see emails: I just do it and then choose export to the format of Outlook Express 6, but who would even work?

    Any help would be appreciated!

I've never used Snapfish, but I don't see where this has nothing to do with Outlook Express, an e-mail client. You should know what type of program is supposed to be used to open this file - and this program must be installed on your computer.

What kind of file is it?  What is the file extension (3 or 4 characters after the point)?

If you know what type of program is needed and you already have this program installed, the best way to create the association is

    • find a file with the extension in question
    • Right click on it
    • Select "open with > choose program.
    • Select the correct application of the list
    • Check the box "always use the program selected to open this type of file"
    • Click OK.

If the program you need is not in the list, click on the "Browse" button and locate the program exe file in C:\Program Files.
