  • perspective grid tool - very good tutorials

I found the tool to be intuitive, to say the least perspective grid. Is there a good tutorials to learn how to do something useful with this tool, or is it typical of half-baked s which is not worth spending time on?

How to set perspective grids in Illustrator

  • Perspective grid tool

I am learning to master this tool and saw this video for Adobe TV.  I use CS5 on its own (not as part of Design Premium).  In this video, at 01:46, he describes going to SEE... Windows and a range of forms of window appears choice.

It is not available in my version.  Is this fair to the Design Premium?  Also, there are all sets of architectural to download to use with Illustaror?

I think I've seen this video before and we had the same question at a time. Windows is the label an opinion according to which the author of the video had already created and saved.

    What it means.

Firsyt, he had attracted some art window somewhere on the canvas presumbably to the wide on the side and on the way in which the authors. so that while working on the current artboard may not see unless he uses the hand tool, browsers or the zoom tool to bring it to view!

But it's messy and inefficient, so there is a feature that allows you to access the canvas area and check this post, so you can back up to bring this region of the canvas in the view and as you can do it with other points of view you can name them so they are listed at the bottom of the view menu.

In this case, the author of the video name who discovers Windows. You don't have the display Windows since you have not created this view and you have not created the art of work for both windows. If they are not avaialabe because they do not exist anywhere in your document and on your computer.

BTW, if you are working on the detailed work requires it tell you to visit a small part of your document to a magnification of cxertain, so you can zoom in and save that as a point of view and you can always get return as you did before to the savingthe.

I placed a rectangel on the right side of the perspective grid. Then I tried to resize by clicking and dragging its corner with the perspective grid tool. The only thing that happened was the rectangle settles into the right perspective without resizing grid. Lynda video expects straignt. I have some parameter does not correctly set?

  • What parameters of the Perspective grid for something like that?

This has been confounding my for more time than I care to admit. How to set up a Perspective grid something like that? I don't know where to start. I'm used to drawing simlple buildings view eye-level, but obviously, with something like that, the viewer looks for way to the top.

    windows.jpg

    Hi Cheryl,

It is technically a 3 p perspective; you mentioned the Viewer is looking way up - such a scene is called view of the worm.

I tried implementing a grid over the image. Point of encounter the two red lines is the third Vanishing Point. The two other Vice-Chairs should be installed by extending the two yellow and two green lines until they intersect in the direction indicated by two arrows. However, it will be at infinite distance, and this way the view can be considered as 1 prospect P Jet & Michael expressed the opinion. Please keep in mind that the camera can create biased lenses and perspective distortion. Grid of Illustrator can't match that. In addition, Illustrator grid is also limited by size of the app for example canvas, the whole grid must adapt to the canvas. When you draw on a sheet of paper you see actually one or more VP out of your drawing sheet.

In any case the best approximation to this kind of perspective is possible in Illustrator by placing the image on top of the canvas, as the 3rd VP is located almost on the top edge of the canvas. The height of the eyes view of the worm is zero. If the horizon line coincides with the land line and both are practically on the lower edge of the canvas. The grid left & right and then leave you to draw the walls of the building as above.

  • Perspective selection tool will not scale

Then, I worked with Illustrator CS5 perspective all day without problem mode, when three hours, widget scaling perspective Selection tool disappear on me. He'd only move items now. Tried to dig into the menus to see if there were a few shortcut that I accidentally hit which disables the scaling (for a reason any), went up to reinstall the program, nothing works. Do not wait to hear a solution for this, but it makes it rather impossible to work in perspective and it is totally killing me, so it couldn't hurt to ask!

If there is now no bounding box, then it's view > hide/show the bounding box or Command Shift B Mac or PC Control Shift B

    In the opposite case

I'll try to help you further, to ask the question in the language of the Illustrator and composed not of words thet yu will include only you need.

For example you speak of object scaled on the perspective grid? There is no widget scaling, but there is a widget for the selection of active plans.

What is the widget that you refer? If Yes, then you may need to turn off the visibility of the widget

If you talk about the grid and the widget, you might have to hit command > shift > I have on the Mac or the control > shift I have on the PC that would hide the grid and the widget hit the keys still once he'll bring back. Or view > Perspective grid > Perspective to show/hide grid.

Even after reinstalling it would probably not visible unless you trashed the settings folder after uninstalling.

Regarding the scaling is done with the perspective under the tool selection tool grille perspective.

    Hello

Normally, you can get various parameters of pref through AIPreferenceSuite, but the Perspective grid settings uses its own file preferably and there is no API to get her. Someone knows how to get the parameters of the Perspective grid as the grid for active grid spacing?

  • fluid grid tools do not work after that I moved a page to a new Directory/site

I implemented a simple enough fluid grid, which works great.  Then I moved the files to a new directory.  I had to remove a slash in front of one of the links to the css file I use for formatting of the text and what not, but the page still works fine.  My problem is that I now have a plus a few changes, but when I click on the divs etc in design mode, I don't see more fluid grid tools or the little icon in the toolbar to turn it on or off.

My apologies if I forget something obvious, but any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    PRH

It's working now.  It seems that the problem was related to a couple unrelated files css fg left by a previous attempt.  I cleaned these, and voila, my tools returned fg.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Perspective grid: switch to horizontal orientation

I have a rectangle of height I want to place on the horizontal plane of the perspective grid.

Clicking on this map in the widget, or slecting the rectangle and pressing 2, translates the rectangle to the right of the vanishing point (or 02:00). I need to point the other way, to the left (at 10:00) vanishing point.

Is it possible to force an object to do?

Thanks for any help or thoughts on that.

    Mark

You need to rotate the rectangle before placing it in the grid.

  • Problems of displacement of an object that is perpendicular to the Perspective grid

I followed this tutorial: id http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-illustrator-cs5/mapping-flat-artwork-to-the-perspective-gr / in which work is mapped to the perspective grid.

Towards the end of the video (07:00) a sign is mapped to the grid on the left then moved perpendicularly along the grid on the right... that holding down the tilde key.

When I hold down the tilde key and move the object (which is selected with the selection of point of view tool, with the selected correct grid) it is not mapped it perpendicular as in the video.

I deleted my illustrator preferences file (where all the parameters were originally this function does). Also, if I create a new object and press the tilde key and drag, I can create several instances, then the tilde at least key in this case is recognized.

    It is the 5 key

  • Inclination of the perspective grid

I read somewhere that it is possible to tilt the perspective grid integers (such as rotation), using the Horizon level and Shift/Alt. This does not work for me. If anyone can help with more detailed instructions on how to tilt the grid of point of view, I would really appreciate it.

You can't tilt the grid. You can move points of leakage or skyline of up and down left and right. Then, you can also move the layers from the point of view - it's kinda a rotation around the vanishing point. There is an explanation in the help files which widget allows you to do.

  • Remove/reset the Perspective grid

Hi, people. I'm just now starting with CS5, Perspective grid is new to me. I wonder if there is any means to remove a grid already on the artboard, or if we want to do it again. Thank you very much in advance for any help!

Yes, there is. You can reset the default grid by going to the view menu > Perspective grid > two Point of view > [2 p-Normal mode]. You can hide the grid by pressing Shift-Ctrl-I, or by clicking the small 'x' in the widget Plane Switching (present in the top left of the document window when the grid is visible).
