• Classic BlackBerry BB Assistant s/w (OS 10.3.1.747) do not pick up the search engines for the default browser

  In Blackberry companion settings, I put my favorite "search for device settings" in the "extended" tab without google (IE at the top) and deselected yahoo and bing (see the first photo, the link below).

  When then by performing a search in the home screen classic BB (see second pic, below), then selecting the first option (instant action: research dethrone internet), this opens a search engine Bing instead of my preferred configuration of a Google search.  If I scroll search suggestions Assistant of BB, display the correct set of options "extended search".  The problem seems to only the part itself during the selection of the first selection 'instant action '.

  I wanted to share a quick solution, while we are studying the issue.

  If possible, you can change the default search engine in the browser itself? This will ensure BlackBerry Assistant conduct searches on the Internet using this search engine instead.

  To do this, open the browser and enter the text in the address bar. Along the top of the screen, at the top right you will see the most likely Bing icon. Tap on this icon and you will be able to select Google instead. After doing this, research into BlackBerry Wizard will build on Google instead of Bing. I hope this helps!

• I need the URL for the default home page so I can put it in my homepage protection, because all I get when I open the browser's "about"white."

  I'm going to hell to get just the URL for the browser/Firefox start page. I just did a recovery image factory and all I get after downloading and installing the Firefox browser a tab that says 'about white." I don't get the URL in the address bar so that I can put this URL in my homepage of protection (I use Advanced System Care ultimate).   It is actually called Subject: Home , but the only way to know would be if you were viewing the page and called to the top of the Page Info dialog... who, for future reference you can get using one of these methods:

  • Right click on a box empty page and select View Page Info

  • Click on the globe or padlock icon in the address bar > more information

  Yes, this can be done.

  You must handle this in your SQL code. Here is an example

  Approach 1:

  -----------

  Definition of parameter in your data model: P_ITEM_NUM

  Data type of parameter/type: text/string

  The parameter default value: white

  In the SQL: where ITEM_NUMBER = NVL(:P_ITEM_NUM,ITEM_NUMBER) - ITEM_NUMBER here is your database column

  At runtime, if no value is given for article number parameter - the NVL function will consider the incoming value with null and it will run the report for all values of report item.

  Approach 2:

  I have a client who loves the web viewer of folio. By default, the web viewer will always show the horizontal orientation of the folio (which makes sense because it's the only direction which corresponds to the size of the screen (more or less)).

  But in this particular case the customer uses a double Folio oriented with the vertical orientation as the main direction and horizontal orientation with minor elements just on that. Is it possible to have the viewer web show vertical orientation by default? Then, even when you change the current article to vertically and move on to the next you will see the next article uses the horizontal orientation again. So, in the end, you have to turn yourself each time during the navigation.

• How to set up certificates for the default user profile

  I'm trying to create a package to install Firefox in our corporate environment that contains our locally-issued certificates. We can manually import the certs, but since Firefox is part of our brand, I would like to have the certificates already installed for users they open FF for the first time.

  I wrote a script that installs Firefox 22, copy custom files in the correct location files, creates a new profile folder (C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox\defaults\profile) and copy the file cert8.db in that newly created file. However, when a user opens FF for the first time, none of our certificates are installed. If I close FF, copy the file cert8.db even in the .default file C:\Users\ < username > \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ < random string > and then reopen FF, CERT now show as installed upward.

  How can I automate this so that each user who opens FF will have implemented CERT?

  When you refer to the "Feedback" icon, are you referring to the legend that appears? Or are you referring to the green check mark that indicates the exact location?

• A procedure for security (false?), I did changed my desktop icons for the default system icon

  I have 64-bit Windows Vista Ultimate on a HP laptop.

  I read a review (whose source I can't remember, but I think this is Microsoft) that there is a security hole in the desktop icons that would attack at a distance.  (Yes, I know.)  So he gave a procedure to remove the danger with editing the registry, with the warning that it would make the normal icons disappear and be replaced by the default system icon.

  I performed the procedure and the icons have disappeared.  And I did not back up the registry first.  (Yes, I know.)

  Now, I know I don't want to live with all the icons, the same.  I have read many procedures on Windows 7, etc., but none that hits home.  And try the remedies to these problems is no help either.  Can anyone help?  Thank you very much.

  I have selected the "LNK" link and run the registry script it contains, and returned all the icons.  It is only the shortcuts that have been replaced.

  I use Firefox as my browser, and usually, it opens with google as homepage, and searches are via google. It suddenly started opening on yahoo and also use it as a search engine. I suspect that it happened when I downloaded the update for C Cleaner, which I think has a box should I have unchecked. I seem to have found the home page BUT a new tab always opens in yahoo and research go immediately to yahoo. I clicked the tag options (in the dropdown at the top of the box on the right) and went through all this several times, but it keeps going back to yahoo. Please can someone tell me how to get rid of it.

  Hi, try this: Type Subject: config in the address bar, press ENTER, accept the warning, scroll to browser.newtab.url and see what the exact URL is set to in 'Value', which may give a clue as to origin. There are on: newtab which you can modify, right-click > edit, but it will most likely get changed by everything it touches. - Editor of Configuration of Firefox.

  This happens because autorun.vbs is created by a virus or Trojan horse. The virus normally loads the file autorun.inf in the root of the folder all the hard drive or USB key and then run the autorun.bat file which contains script to apply and merge autorun.reg into the registry, with possible change in the following registry key to ensure that the virus is loaded at system startup:

  Finally, autorun.bat will call wscript.exe to run autorun.vbs.

Note that you must also clean files autorun from USB flash drive or an external portable hard drive as the hard drive may also be infected.

  If this does not help, follow the method 3.

  Method 3:

  a. click on start and click on run

  b. type regsvr32 /i shell32.dll

  c. Press ok

  d. you will see a message DllRegisterServer and DllInstall in the successful shell32.dll file
