• Spacing of table of contents

  Is there a way to adjust, to increase, the minimum spacing between a table of contents entry and its page number for paragraphs of the single line? I know that I can insert nonbreaking spaces in long paragraphs, but if a paragraph fits on one line, it does not help.

  The screenshot below shows an entry on the first line which is too close to the page number. The second line is the way I want it to look, but I have to do a return forced to implement. Of couse, when I re - generate the table of contents the forced return disappears, so I hope that there is another technique.

  If editing the frame.ini file would control the spacing, how woiuld that be implemented?

  I swap this in the forum script in the case where there is a way to script it.

  

  If anyone can tell me if this is NOT possible, I understand that too (so that I don't know is not to keep trying to think of workarounds).

  The method I use is not obvious but work because of how FrameMaker seems to work.

  For EACH paragraph format used in your table of contents, those ending in KNOCK, open the paragraph Designer. One of the tabs (do not remember which) has a place to specify the spacing settings. There are three boxes: minimum, optimum, and maximum. The minimum is generally defined 75%, the optimum 100% and up to 125%. Add 100, or 200 or 300% for the minimum AND maximum, BUT NOT optimum, which is set at 100%. For example, the minimum would be 175%, the OPTIMA 100% and the maximum of 225 percent. Click Refresh all. I do this in the template file and then import the paragraph formats in all the files in your book. Then update the book.

  I think FrameMaker tests to adjust the spacing using minimum and maximum, determines where the line break and then sets the optimum spacing of 100%. The result is a line break shortly before the end of the line. You can experiment. The more you add to minimum and maximum, more space between the line break and the end of the line.

• GREP question: How do \r and \z play at the same time?

  I have a couple of styles GREP designed to allow development of large portions of the text much easier. In order to reduce the time back on and force things back, I created an unbreakable character style to be applied to the words at the end of a paragraph and after punctuation. To get rid of the massive gaps at the end of the lines, I have limited the number of characters in words and whenenver, some still get through, I apply a character style "Delete everything" separate. This makes it easier for our web service during the file conversion, the lack of forced returns and the addition of seamless formatting instead.

  So far, I have 3 GREP queries to apply:

  -\s\ < \w{1,7}\ > < \w{1,8}\ > [.!,:;] »] \r

  -\s\ < \w{1,7}\ > < \w{1,8}\ > [.!,:;] »] \z

  (? < =[.!?;:,"]\s)\ < \w{1,7}\ > \s\ < \w{1,7}\ >)

  The reason for the 3 is the end of the paragraph (\r) query does not apply at the end of a story (\z). I tried to combine the two using ' | ' between queries but it just ends up by doesn't work do not at all. Or with the ends as follows: (\r|\z)

  Is it possible to get this consolidated to a better query, so I need to copy and paste the three whenever I want to apply it to a style? It would be easier when you give the query to people, too, if she were consolidated. All the 3 together would be ideal.

  In a table of keywords related to the software, key words are sometimes long to fit in a single line, for example "QuiteLenghtySampleKeyword" would be cut off like this:

  If I add the suppress hyphenation character \x05, the maximum number of characters is required in the first line, and the word is cut without hyphen:

  Try adding a space of "zero-width"; better implementation by a variable.

  First define a format of characters (for example zMinWidth, where everything is "such what ', except size = 2pt, spread = - 5%, Stretch = 10%), then define a variable that doesn't have this format of characters followed by a space regular. Insert the variable it where you want to allow line breaks without hyphens.

  I used a variant of this with a slash followed by the zero / near-zero in the documents in the workspace where the forward slash can be welcomed as a line break on a general basis (of the sort that "I/o" does not break between the lines, but ' installation/configuration' breaks to slash, as appropriate).

• Research GREP question

  Hello all, I generally consider myself as quite convenient to the GREP, but this one I'm not sure. What I need is to be able to search for parts of a text and put them in a paragraph style, and then use more searches to narrow down these results.

  The text is composed of much documents and possibly in the sections an appendix and even a pregnant. each of them are separated by a point size and then a similar version of the same paragraph styles that exist in the text. in any case, what I need is to be able to clear any number of introductory research reaches the signifier of text indicating the section subordinated. Here is the idea for the annexes:

  (? < = ^ APPENDIX ~ b) (. + ~ b) +(?=^DOCUMENT)

  It works in both circumstances in the book however I think the culprit for breaking this research is the forced return and possible nonbreaking spaces. anyone knows how I can put in some type of if theres a return force ignore too type of situation.

  It is not enough that the selected tables are not entirely clear on. It appears like it find OBI the sql in the cache and process the request entirely.

  Physical SQL is not visible because it hits the cache.
  You can:
  (1) clear RPD physical cache and run the query again.
  or
  (2) copy the SQL logic, go to web Admin - number SQL - paste the SQL logic, then just change a setting or two, so it does not hit the cache. For example, to change a filter to Jan Feb... or just add a dummy column initially as select 1 or select 'a'... .rest of sql even.

  in this way, you can avoid hitting the cache and see the sql code (at the bottom of the results - view the journal)

  Make sure that you have enabled the option to cache presentation server and define the level of logging to 4 or more to see the details.

  Open Safari while holding the SHIFT key

  Try to reset the settings of Safari:

  1. open Safari

  2. click on the Safari menu at the top (to the right of the Apple logo)

  3. Select the Preferences/Privacy tab

  4. click on remove all data from the Web site

  5. close Safari.

  Remove cache Safari files:

  1. click on finder

  2. look for the menu GO to top

  3. click on GO and hold down the option key. This will show a user library folder.

  4. click library and find the Caches folder

  5. in the folder caches com.apple.Safari Ouvrezledossier

  6. move the Cache.db file Trash.

  This should solve the problem. If it does not help, try to disable the Safari extensions

  1. open Safari

  2. click on the Safari menu at the top (to the right of the Apple logo)

• Loading of joystick Sidewinder FORCE Feedback 2 on VISTA

  I have a new computer with Vista and got close to loading Microsoft Sidewinder FORCE Feedback 2 disc to use with Microsoft Flight Simulator X and have problems loading.
  The run.exex crosses all the guests, is the copy program and then copy the profile.  At this point, I get a warning box "Are you sure you want to exit the installation of Sidewinder Forcefeedback 2" with the Yes or no boxes.  If I click No this just SID and does nothing.  Click Yes, and naturally it closes.
  I expect to see a message from LOADING software will then ask to connect the gamepad and proceed to step 2, which is testing.
