Forgotten username Windows Mail & password.

We use Vista with Windows Mail. Suddenly we are invited for a user name and password. We have no idea of what they are; nothing don't we have tried works. How we solve this problem?

Well, you have to communicate with anyone you receive mail from and they can tell you the right information.  Its possible they have an intermittent failure and that's why you have questions, or it could be another program causing the problem (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).  No one can decipher the specs of the ' nothing don't we tried works "and suggest things to try, and more, so you might consider to be more specific in your question.  Also there is a bug in WinMail it seems and if you give the wrong password and then give the right one it will work but does not stick, so change things under Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Servers and stick the correct values in order to get them to stick.  But if you know that your login details are first contact your email provider.  It's the kind of thing you should remember and write down and save.

    Hello Minnie Mouse_976,

Is the Yahoo Xtra account set in the Mail application as a Yahoo account? If Yes, just open the Mail application, and then open the charms of the right side of the screen, select settings, select accounts, select your Yahoo account, scroll down and select delete account, delete Yahoo account. Return to the accounts screen, tap Add account, add your account Yahoo, back with the new password.

If you have forgotten your username and password, call your ISP (internet service provider).
Your ISP is the one who gave you the user name and password. They have the record. Ask them.

At the same time ask if there is a technician who can help you with the problem of popup box.

    It makes me crazy.

For the last few days my Windows Mail keeps asking for my username and password and even if they are correct it still doesn't and comes repeatedly asks me for the info again and again. I deleted the account mail twice now and re added it but it still does not work. I can send emails but not receive. Account: 'mail.talktalk.net', server: 'mail.talktalk.net', Protocol: POP3, server response: '-ERR Authentication failed.', Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, Server error: 0x800CCC90, error number: 0x800CCC92

Please help I need to retrieve my emails! Thanks, Sarah

McAfee is a huge problem with Windows Mail.  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 if you want to use, wait until you get the job of Winmail.

Check if you can connect webmail and that works very well and it's not a problem on the end of the server messaging or because of misspelled powers.  Then delete your account in WinMail, compact and repair the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) and make sure that you have disabled the e-mail analysis then add your account to mail back again and see if it works.

  • Windows Mail: Get a pop-up asking for my username and password

    Original title: "windows mail problem"

From yesterday I can't open Windows Mail.  I get a pop up asking for my username and password.  I was sure that I had good, but since then I have rebuilt the account and still get the same pop up.  This is what happens in the error message:

Account: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', server: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, server response: '-ERR [AUTH] username/password invalid ', Port: 995, secure (SSL): Yes, Server error: 0x800CCC90, error number: 0x800CCC92

I downloaded Windows Live Mail and that no longer works.  I tried to configure Outlook and got the same result.  I have another identity on this computer and it works fine.  I read that Norton and MacAfee can have that effect, but I don't have one or the other.  I just downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials this week and email worked fine up until yesterday.   I contacted ATT, but they do not support Windows Mail.  I need more ideas here.

Check with AT & T, or the Yahoo Server. They have made of your user name and password. Compare them with those that you entered when you first set up the account.
The rest of the settings of your look ok to me.

  • Windows Mail security request my username and password.

original title: WINDOWS MAIL SECURITY REQUEST for USERNAME and PASSWORD for WINDOWS

Message of ERROR IS: 'pop.orangehome.co.uk', server: 'pop.orangehome.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, server response: '-ERR [AUTH] Invalid login/password pair', Port: 110, secure (SSL): no, Server error: 0x800CCC90, error number: 0x800CCC92

Very often, it is due to an intermittent server problem and not a problem with your computer.  You should contact the provider of messaging and see there are problems.  See also if you can connect via webmail and if it works.  If so, then try to set up a second copy of your account and see if it works.  Also beware of interference antivirus: see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 and it can help to compact and repair the database of WinMail (see www.oehelp.com/WMUTil/)

  • Windows Mail could not connect to the server. ErrorOx800CCC92. Server accepts no username or password.

This could be a problem of 'Orange', but all that is worth a go.  When I logged in yesterday the Windows Mail came into 'Authorising officer' and then stopped. Upward came a box asking for the username and password that I gave, noresponse and the box reappeared.  The zone mail server gives error Ox800CCC92.  If anyone has any clues, I would be grateful.

    Hello

    1. who is the ISP?

I suggest you try loging in directly to the Internet service provider's Web site and check the results.
Make sure that the incoming and outgoing mail servers are correct. You can check the link for the steps below: Windows Mail: setting up an account from the beginning to the end: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Windows-Mail-setting-up-an-account-from-start-to-finish#section_3

Before you can configure an e-mail account, you must call your ISP or your e-mail server.
    You need the following:

    E-mail address
    Username
    Password
    Name of the incoming server
The name of the outgoing server

Also ask them if they can either teach you how to configure an e-mail account, or if they have a website where he shows how to do.
