Form of InDesign, exported as interactive, frame color question

On Mac OS 10.11.16, Indesign CC (11.3.0.34)

I have a form that I can't see the 'look' of so I'm stuck with the way things are. This means that some fields of the form are created from a graphic image with a border of 1 point, while others are from the combination of a static graphic image with border by 1 point and a white (no background or outline) form field placed above them.

Exactly the same color is used for each graphic frame with the 1 point rule. Only difference is that an image is static and the other is an editable text field. No effect, no overprint.

The fields look substantially different in Acrobat.

Any ideas?

Screenshot below - I know there is a fairly subtle difference, but it's very annoying.

With PDF files interactive all the color gets converted to sRGB. Except if your document must also get exported for printing, assign sRGB as the InDesign doc RGB profile (Edit > assign profile...) and use a RGB color for the race.

Also when you view the PDF in Reader or AcrobatPro, RGB color can be viewed in CMYK output according to your preferences. In the drive or AcrobatPro make sure your Page Preview of the overlay view is set to auto or never. Or AcrobatPro you canset the output preview > Simulation profile to sRGB. If you view the PDF file in a browser to date, you should always see sRGB and not a CMYK simulation.

  • Function 'Send form' in Indesign CC do not export to interactive PDF correctly

I created a form in Indesign CC using the 'Submit form' and 'mailto:address' int and then exported as an interactive Pdf. The form Submit button works on my computer in Acrobat Reader and Acrobat Pro XI, but when I send it to my client or to another user, that it no longer works. Can anyone help?

Find out if it works depends on a number of things. It can only work if the PDF Viewer that is used supports this type of action. You will find that the most common are not, such as Preview on OS x and iOS and integrated PDF Viewer for Firefox. But even if you use Adobe Reader, it may not work if the user does not have a properly configured e-mail client. It is a good idea to provide clear instructions and include what PDF viewers are supported and what to do if the email is not engaged (for example, to save the PDF and manually attach it to an e-mail to the intended recipient).

  • Checkbox labels disappear and colors modified during export to interactive PDF

I did an InDesign document that contains two simple text boxes: one containing the word 'Yes' – the other containing the word 'no '. The background color of these two boxes are defined as 100% Cyan. After that, I have converted both of them boxes [(voir 1) in the illustration below].

But when you export as interactive PDF, the background color of change boxes 17/11/0/0 and the 'yes' and ' no. "-labels are not visible in the exported PDF document [(voir 2) in the illustration below]."»

However, when you click on the box in Acrobat, the box contains its original color 100% cyan and label and check mark appears [(voir 3) in the illustration below].

But when I click on an empty space outside the box, the box label disappears again, and the background color changes again in 17, 11, 0, 0 [(voir 4) in the illustration below].

My intention is that, when you view the document in Acrobat Reader, check boxes 100% Cyan with labels 'Yes' and 'No' obvious, when you click on one of them, the check box appears and background color remains 100% Cyan and the labels remain visible - also when you click off the beaten later.

I'm doing something wrong, or is this a software problem?

I appriciate all the tips and tricks on how to achieve my goal. Thanks in advance!

  • Color of the blue hyperlink is lost when you export to interactive PDF?

I work in InDesign CS6 multi page document several links.  In my hypertext document are appearing in the correct (RGB) color blue; However once I have export to interactive PDF file, blue hyperlinks become dark blue color (CMYK).  I changed the RGB output and the mixture even at the ROYAL Botanic Gardens, but still have the same question...  Help, please! Thank you

If you click on include > hyperlinks when exporting to PDF (Print), it will keep the direct hyperlink. I tested the color RGB 0-0-255 export to PDF (Interactive) and retain the color. Maybe you need to restore your preferences.

  • Why a form in InDesign CC 2014 multiline text field wraps not the text in the exported PDF file?

I created a form in InDesign CC 2014. The form fields are text with a font size of 12 point and multiline text attribute. I export to PDF interactive form. Open the PDF file in Acrobat XI. When I type in the form field, the text is centered vertically in the form field and wraps around, when I type a value in addition to a line of words in the field.

I would like that text to start at the top of the field and fill down. Also, I would automatically wrap it around the input text.

    Any advice?

Delete any point in the name field.

There is a problem like that if there is a point understanding between the words or numbers in the name of the text box in the button panel.

  • I created show and hide features in InDesign I want to export to interactive PDF format. These functions work when seen in Acrobat on the desktop, but not on iPad/Tablet - why?

I created show and hide features in InDesign I want to export to interactive PDF format. These functions work when seen in Acrobat on the desktop, but not on iPad/Tablet - why?

Why? Most likely because the PDF Viewer on the Tablet is too stupid to deal with show/hide functionality.

You could try PDF Expert of Readdle on qpdf Notes Pro on Android and iOS devices.

Depending on how the show/hide was created during the export of InDesign, it can work in viewers. Otherwise, you will need to open PDF files in Acrobat and edit features show/hide something more digests of PDF device viewers.

BTW, you will encounter the same issues with the PDF display components in web browsers.

    I hope this can help.

  • Problem when exporting InDesign file in interactive PDF format...

Hello, I am trying to export my file InDesign CC single page PDF interactive. This file contains a .swf file & a single Mp4 video file, a text, a background image. When I export to interactive PDF, I get this message « one or more interactive elements are cut in a way that cannot reproduce the files PDF.» These elements will be adjusted in the exported PDF file '.» If I save the file without taking into account this message, in my final PDF everything works except one thing, I'm losing the video controls. What should I do to get these video controls appear?

    Your help is very appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

    Savita-

Do you have video controls on the Panel of the media? Do you have the video preview in the Panel of the media? Notice in the Preview SWF? He saw in the preview of interactivity EPUB (if you have InDesign CC 2014)?

  • Create a form in Indesign: text endangered field borders

I hope someone can help! I create many forms in Indesign. I have a problem with the field borders when it is exported to PDF format.

I set up the form fields in the Indesign Document as a graphic frames with a keyline in black 0.5pt, these are integrated in the main text of the page. These are then converted to text fields through the palette of "buttons and forms. Export pdf as an interactive pdf file.

When first I look at the pdf file in Acrobat (or drive), it's fine.

    Screen Shot 2016-02-09 at 16.04.03.png

However, after typing in some examples of data some of the border disappears. I tried the form of compensation, but they are not always visible.

    Screen Shot 2016-02-09 at 16.04.26.png

Zoom in and out does not work. I tried to align the rule with the inside/outside/Center of the frame, it makes no difference. I tried setting the fields as floating on the page, does not work. The only solution I found is to set the border to 1pt - but it makes the very heavy form. Is there a way around this, or is 1 pt line width minimum that will work in this type of document?

If anyone has any bright ideas that would be wonderful! Thank you.

Unfortunately, there's really nothing you can do to control the display of the border of the form fields with borders .5pt, I see the same results as you.

  • Nonprinting buttons appearing in the wrong order when you export to interactive PDF!

I am a customizable holiday gift certificate creating generic view on our website for download. I create using InDesign CS6. The idea is that the interactive PDF can be opened in the reader, one of the six charts of certificate can be selected (via the radial buttons that hide/show graphics that have been converted into buttons), and various text fields can be filled in. Then, the certificate can be printed and cropped. I have all the interactive elements, works very well, including the "print" key. The interactive PDF looks like this:

    Waste_Free_Certificates_correct.jpg

However, when printing, I would ONLY the certificates and the fields of text to print and not the instructions, header, or radial buttons selection certificate or full color, background. The point of this is so that the user doesn't lose the ink. I want to print like this:

    Waste_Free_Certificates_printed.jpg

At first I tried to make nonprinting objects, but which also shows them not when exported to interactive PDF. I then tried the same thing by putting on another layer and uncheck "print layer" (but check "show layer"), but I came across the same result. After searching the forums, I discovered that the only way to make these nonprinting elements, yet still visible in the interactive PDF, is to convert each object to a button and then uncheck the "Printable" box in the window buttons and forms. I did, and now everything seems to work fine...

Except that when you export, export buttons in order of stacking poorly, like this:

    Waste_Free_Certificates_wrong.jpg

This color background continues to go on in front of all the rest. Even if I put it on it's very own layer under layer with all other charts (converted to buttons) on this subject, he always appears in front of all the other buttons. It is the same whether or not I have check the box create Acrobat layers. What the devil I'm doing wrong?

  • Form since InDesign elements does not not in Acrobat

If this started as a seemingly complex a big form problem in InDesign and problems when convert them to PDF and read in Acrobat. But as I repeatedly simplified things I was trying to do, in order to get to the root of the problem, I came to the conclusion that form in InDesign elements are basically useless. I'd love to find out that I'm wrong...

    1. Open InDesign CC (2015.4.1 at time of writing)
    2. Palette of buttons and forms open
    3. Open the sample buttons and forms
    4. Drag the radio button group pre-built (#22 in this case) on the page
      Screen Shot 2016-10-03 at 08.07.33.png
    5. Export the PDF page, ensure hyperlinks are included and interactive elements retain their appearance.
    6. Open a PDF file in Acrobat/Acrobat Reader
    7. Unnecessarily click on non-functioning of option buttons that are, in fact, the page just static objects.
    8. (Optional) Wonder what you pay Adobe for each year.

Can anyone confirm or correct me on this? Thanks in advance.

  • No export to interactive PDF fonts

I made a document in indesign, and when I export to interactive PDF, fonts, etc key... changes.  EX I use leading font 18 Arial Black with12PT in indeign and when I export the document and open it in Acrobat reader or Acrobat Pro police police 12Pt Arial (NOrmal) and 14.4 (Default) leader.  Any ideas on that?  How can I keep the fonts that I use in indesign?  The Dungeon of pieces interactive no fonts that I use her does not affect the interactive elements.

The problem is not InDesign, that's the limitation of fonts in PDF Forms. If you open the properties of the text field for your text field in Acrobat, you will see something like this:

While you can choose any font on your system, you should take those above the line. I just looked excellent series of videos of Claudia McCue on Acrobat DC on Lynda.com. Here is what she said: "the fonts that are above this line are the fonts that will be accessible to anyone with Acrobat Reader or Acrobat Pro and Acrobat Standard. All policies below this line are the fonts that are active on your system. And that they are not active on someone else's system. And which may result in text that is not displayed or does not match. She asked type of disorder, so even if it looks dull, go ahead and take one of the dull fonts above the line. »

Also note that there are no options for line spacing at all. If it's really not for lack of InDesign, but a limitation in PDF Forms.

  • Text boxes do not appear when exported to interactive PDF

I am working on a form of several page that uses 10% gray boxes to indicate the places where people can enter their answers. I made sure all the boxes are checked as "Printable" whereas they should appear when I export to interactive PDF and print. However, when I export to interactive PDF, some mailboxes displayed. I tried save the file as a .idml, opening and export from there, but some original boxes appear and new boxes are not displayed. Anyone know how I can get all the boxes to show?

Figured it out! All the text boxes need to have a different label. For example, you can't text boxes on pages that carry the two NOTES.
