• I have created a form in Indesign. Is there a way to create the default text in a text field that displays the interactive pdf "insert text here" in the text field?

  I have created a form for the company, so that I work. It is a form that will be used in several offices and has buttons, drop downs and text fields. One of the text fields has a requirement that when the PDF file is opened, the text field has something written in there already, as an example (and one only) INSERT the TEXT HERE. I created the text field in Indesign and used the text tool to type in the area of the body-copy required. After that I have to export it as an interactive PDF, text in the text field disappeared.

  Drop-down lists give an option for a default choice, but I don't see a way to create default text in the Panel of buttons and forms for text fields. Is there a workaround or a hidden feature?

• Captivate 8 Windows freezes when inserting the Interactions of training

  Hello, all.

  I'm under Captivate 8 a laptop Windows Pro 8.1 with 8gigs of Ram and an Intel Core i5 processor.

  Whenever I try to insert an Interaction of training - everyone I've tried (except the timer) - it after about 30 seconds of NOTHING happening, the program crashes. I get the 'Windows has stopped responding"and then dialogue"Close program.".

  And Yes, I tried both as an administrator and not. The same problem.

  Someone else has encountered this, and you know a fix?

  So, basically, they click on the form that has an example of text and then when they click on the text disappears. Nothing too crazy.

  You must use a custom script to Format for the field:

  When I try to paste a shape builder (6i) code, it comes inside a table in the forum, and a lot of unwanted lines is added, as well as the content is not displayed correctly. Same thing happens when I paster option in plain text.

  OP,

  The editor of the forum has a lot of "features", some which are beneficial and others who are a pain.

  When you copy your code on the forum it may contain tab characters and other formatted as the editor of the forum is interpreted as something that must be pasted into a table, rather than as plain text.  Is an error in the forum, but there is not much that can be made on this issue at the moment because it's the 3rd party software Forum.  The admin are looking to see if they can provide a custom in future editor to help solve many of the features that the 3rd party company seems unable to provide, but we have to wait and see when it happens.

  In the meantime, if you paste your code into something like Notepad first to remove its "behind the scenes" formatting and try that (you can for find and replace tab characters too), then to paste the best advanced a forum where you can then use the editor to set the font to something like Courier New , or use the option of formatting Code as you wish.

  I'm trying to change the "description" of the interaction of training area and I have select and does not have the choice.  So I can't edit it to allow the learner to know what to do.  I use the interaction of the timeline.

  We must insist. I know from experience that it is often easier to edit the description and the title, once you have added content to the buttons. Don't forget to switch to full screen as well.

• Captivate 8 - Interactions of training have disappeared?

  I am using Captivate 8 on a PC. For a reason that some of my interactions of training have disappeared, more specifically the puzzle and the certificate. Any suggestions? I restarted my computer, but it does not solve the issue. They both worked very well this weekend, but disappeared.

  I need to solve this problem as soon as possible. Please let me know what I can do.

  Do you know how the Interactions of training are used? When you open the dialog box (with the big button 'Interactions', Interactions of training) you're navigated on a copy of Public Documents: the original training interactions are in the Captivate installation folder, Gallery. You can try this:

  1. Close Captivate
  2. Access to public Documents this way: property C:\Users\Public\Documents\Adobe\eLearning
  3. You will see a folder "Interactions_8_0".
  4. Delete this folder
  5. Captivate reboot, a new copy of the original file will be created

  Can you tell if you see now missing interactions?

  Another way to insert an interaction of training is to use the Insert, Widget menu. Then navigate to the Public folder or in the original folder in the gallery. More about the Interactions of training in my blog: advice - training interaction - Captivate blog

• Why a form in InDesign CC 2014 multiline text field wraps not the text in the exported PDF file?

  I created a form in InDesign CC 2014. The form fields are text with a font size of 12 point and multiline text attribute. I export to PDF interactive form. Open the PDF file in Acrobat XI. When I type in the form field, the text is centered vertically in the form field and wraps around, when I type a value in addition to a line of words in the field.

  I would like that text to start at the top of the field and fill down. Also, I would automatically wrap it around the input text.

  Delete any point in the name field.

  There is a problem like that if there is a point understanding between the words or numbers in the name of the text box in the button panel.

  What problems are you having with the arrow? You go to Tools-> annotate-> arrow and an arrow appears. Then you can drag around the head and tail to make it to the desired location.

I have 2 fields (VALUE_A, VALUE_B). I can get the addition and multiplication work in the interactive report, but I also need that it works correctly in the form of update. I also need update form to work dynamically so that if the values are changed, the correction calculated response is shown immediately on the update form and then reflected in the interactive report. I tried the dynamic action, with and without javascript without result. Any help would be appreciated.

  I tried to put each line of the form for amounts of specificity so that it ends at some point and does not change the text size to fit on the line but different key characters have different widths, so you do not get a length of the same line.

  I tried to remove the long text scrolling, but it changed nothing.

  I can create a text box great to fill out and have this scrolling of additional lines, but then I get too much information from people and I would need to clarify the lines behind the answer multi line text, or delete the lines...

  Is there a better solution?

  I usually just remove the lines and set the field "Does not scroll long text" so that all the text is visible. Including the lines is really only useful if the form may be printed and completed by hand, in which case you can use scripts as in this example is: http://acroscript.net/pdf/demos/multiLine_Demo1.pdf

  It works as expected in Acrobat/Reader, but not in Chrome and other PDF viewers who have little or no support for JavaScript. It uses scripts customized to validate on Focus and blur.

However once I use the function "Fill & Sign" to sign the document, and then save, it locks the file and all other fields become editable. Is there a way around this to remove this feature where it becomes locked and instead allows me to change the form after a signature is applied and saved. All the security properties of the form are on 'admitted', there is no restriction. Even though the document is locked all the properties remain still as 'authorized '.

  The signing is FINAL.  You cannot sign a PDF paper advance. Complete and save, do not sign.
