  My 8 year hard drive seems to have died. I love HP and particularly in this case and the mobo to work well for me, so I plan to replace my Vista 32 bit w / 64 bit W7 and install a 1 TB WD HD that has a warning on the label that it is a format disc advanced.  It means the Web of WD site for more information.  This whole process looks like defusing a bomb for me so any advice to avoid the traps will be appreciated!

  Advanced Format drives don't work with old HP computers.  I suggest buying a standard SATA, 7200 RPM.  You can use disks to 6 Gbit/s because they are backward compatible.  Also, here is a good guide to help you to restore the system after replacing the drive.  It will help to defuse the bomb.

  Here are the upgrades are advised by Crucial memory for your computer.  You can try one of them to increase the performance of the SSD.  You will have to buy one at least 128 GB to work with recovery disks.

• Someone at - he heard of this? Text of boot and BIOS is distorted. Random characters in the BIOS and the splash screen are off by 2 in alphabetical order.

  So that's what I'm wondering, what is not loaded in safe mode which is always loaded when you manually turn off all extensions and plugin?

  This could be a problem with the new features related to the police who are trying to use your graphics card. You can enable those here:

  Tools > Options > advanced > [disable] "use hardware acceleration when available.

  (It's one of the things that turn off safe mode.)

  I don't know if you'll see results immediately, or if you must restart Firefox.

• Formatting issues

  Can someone help me with why when I open my files for a particular site, the formatting files is disabled? Also, I'm working on 2 different sites and when I open a file from a site, I get a dialog box with a list of all sites. I then click on the site that I'm trying, then click done. What is the right way?

  If you have a cloud account/subscription and then sign up before formatting.  If you have a Creative Suite software license then before you format you must disable all the different suites opening one of the applications and selecting help-> Deactivate

  The actions above will help make it easier for the reactivation of your subscription access/suite when you reinstall after format is done and your system restored.

  Update published 17.1 today for Illustrator CC contains a preference to disable 'Code SVG' copy to the Clipboard, uncheck this option to disable the SVG code copy it to the Clipboard.

  When I pull down the menu from the paragraph formats I see a LARGE number of them scroll down beyond my screen.  God forbid I would never choose one that begins with a letter at the end of the alphabet.  Reference to files helps a catalog window but I have looked everywhere for this mythical thing and can't find it.  If I don't find this catalogue, I can remove all of the tags that I don't need this one document without losing them permanently for all documents?  Can I set preferences for a list of new documents some of my favorites without dealing with this huge list heavy every time?

  Hi, Paul:

  Paragraph, character and table format definitions are stored in each file.

  To remove the paragraph or character format catalog formats, open the catalog with the Format > paragraphs > catalogue or Format > characters > catalog, click Delete * to open the Delete dialog box, select a format by clicking on a name visible format, by navigating through the list with the arrow keys, or by typing the first letter of the name of the shape. Repeatedly typing the same initials moves in formats that start with that letter. Click on delete to 'name' the format selected for deletion. You cannot select multiple formats in the list shift + click or Ctrl + click. Click Finish to perform the actual deletion, or Cancel if you change your mind.

  Another way to open the delete format dialog box is by clicking on the delete option that appears by clicking the commands button in the paragraph, character and Table designers.

  To make sure that you do not lose the formats that you can use at another time, save a copy of the file with a descriptive name, such as "AllFormatsInTheKnownUniverse.fm." You can remove all content to do the cleaning in the file, without losing the formats. You can import a file formats to another, or a file to multiple files in a book. Google search for "framemaker import formats" without quotation marks for more information on the Adobe, using FrameMaker forums and other sources.

  * Please note that by pressing DEL to open the dialog box delete does not delete the format selected in the catalog.

  A way to eliminate all formats not used of a catalog is to use the file > utilities > create and apply Formats. WARNING: it is dangerous; Read up on it in help, and then save a copy of your file before using. You will find names of unknown format in the catalog that it creates, such as mapping Table Title and a few others; they have points of master and reference Pages.

  Better and safer that create and apply Formats are great inexpensive tools for the maintenance of the catalogues of paragraph and character of siliconprairiesoftware.com format.

  The table format catalog is visible in the table designer (Table > table designer.)

  Media restore fails on 2 AF readers I have. The site above says HP had new media that focus on these new readers, but after talking to someone at HP, I was told that restore media are no longer available. I also talked to someone computer surgeons who told the media that they are only the original media came with the computer I have and does not work.

  The HP person I spoke to was big on telling me how old my computer is (it came with Windows 7) and my warranty is up. This type of assistance not just got me angry.

  Activation of the phone is an automated tool where you enter a group of blocks of 6 characters and then the automatic response gives you the codes to enter in the corresponding areas.

  Hi Mark,

  you have enabled "Style substitute highlighter", a new InDesign CC 2015.3 device which would indicate if there is a difference between the used character style or a paragraph style and the actual formatting characters or the whole paragraph.

  You can enable/disable for example. in your paragraph Styles Panel or your character Styles Panel.

  BTW. The blue bar at the edge of your text block indicates a substitution of the whole paragraph.

  I have some problems from CS4 - CS6, namely certain functions that I struggle to get my head.

  My main problem, however, is that I can't get setting or check for work spelling. I have my English language: UK, however, each word is highlighted in red. Space reserved by default, Hebrew text, I can solve it in holding down the cmd key, but I wonder if that's part of the problem?

  Hypenation also does not work.

  I tried my settings on Hunspell, proximity and user dictionary, but I can't seem to make it work.

  Any thoughts?

  Language is an attribute of character level and is not related, at least not directly, at the option of the dictionary in the preferences. The choice of dictionary simply indicates ID who, dictionaries installed, it should use for spell checking and hyphenation when it encounters this language, but does nothing to set a language anywhere.

  Clearly your default language is set to Hebrew. To fix that you need to change the language without anything selected. If you do this in an existing file, it will affect all the new text in this file, but not text or other files. If you change the default language without file open it will be set for all new files, but will not affect anything already existing. To change the language, simply choose the right pair in the drop-down list in the character or control panel.

  To correct the existing text, it is probably easier to use find/replace and search for the incorrect language in formatting to find and change to the correct language in the formatting change. You will find the language from the drop-down lists under advanced formatting characters in these dialog boxes. You can use GREP or query of plain text, and you can leave find it and change the fields is empty until you understand something in two areas of formatting.

• Change of color at a time

  I have a 50 page document without paragraph or character style. I know it's my fault. The body of the text is black 80% tinted and tinted 80% Magenta. I know that it is easy to replace a color in Indesign by throwing in the trash can and select another but what happens if this color is black? Black can be eliminated from the Color Palette. It's a default color.

  Also can I replace one color with another color to 80% hue or it just replace it at 100% saturation?

  Assuming that you really mean ALL the text in a particular combination of swatch/hue, it is actually quite simple using search/replace, but you have to do each color separately. You can do this in dialogue GREP plain text or you do not need to enter in any search field or find change, only the Format and the Format change sections.

  Click on the magnifying glass icon to find little next to the Format box to enter in the dialog box. If you have already assigned a text for the spell check language, you can go to the pane advanced formatting characters and just choose the language from the drop-down list, otherwise, go to the color of the character pane and choose your shade, then enter the value of shade in the area of the hue. Say OK

  Now go to the Format Change dialog box by clicking the magnifying glass next to this area. Go to the part of the color of the characters and set the color and the color you want to replace. If you have not previously set a language, you can do it now in the Advanced character formatting pane, then say OK.

  In the Find/Replace dialog box, select ALL change.

  Repeat for each color you want to change.
