Formatting of printed documents

Hi all!

I am a relatively new user of RoboHelp. I don't know if my question has been answered in the previous forums, to be honest I don't know exactly what to look for. So, if this is a repeat, my apologies in advance.

I created an online help document in RoboHelp which while in the program, users can access. Great! Works perfectly. However, we would like to be able to print sections and use them as guides to training for new users.

I usually do it is create printed documents and open it in word and then reformat the drive. I change from portrait to landscape and add the lines on the right side of each page to allow new users to take notes.

Is it possible I can get RoboHelp for this? Then our users can print user guides when they need and I won't have to reformat and organize the AutoText on hundreds of pages?

Thanks for the tips!
Cheryl

That's it Cheryl. What those of us who have need of this sort of thing do is to create a PDF file that is located in the help. If you take this approach, you must make sure that the PDF file was added to your list of files of luggage (see the project tab) as otherwise the PDF is not available to users.

  • Minimizing the differences between the print document page numbers and page numbers fixed ePub format

    Hi all!

I'm currently involved in a project of ePub format fixed relatively simple. I almost completely finished with the file, but I see for export, only the page numbers in the table of contents for navigation begin numbering at a point different than the print document.

I certainly don't expect the software ideally know exactly where I want the numbering to start, but I was wondering: is there a way to change the starting point of the navigation table of contents so that I can select the starting point? Here's a screenshot of the situation I describe, taken on my iPad mini using iBooks. A fix for InDesign would be useful, I am very willing to modify the code. Please let me know what additional information can help.

    Thank you very much

I don't have a good answer for you on that I've been unable to get this works as is suspected.

The next update will include support for a list of the fixed layout pages and to my surprise that it was unsuccessful in the evolution of the Navigation table of contents page (right) numeric values that you see.

Those who seem to come from literally the index of the XHTML file where is the target of the table of contents. If iBooks is unable to find the target it displays the entry under '... ».

Where the list of pages seems to make a difference on the iOS7/iBooks, is when you're scouring the pages in display mode page it will display the value of the entry in the list of pages... which is now generated from the string of InDesign page number in a gray oval.

Maybe this has changed to iOS8/iBooks or perhaps other readers it manage differently - I never had the chance to try it on other players.

  • Toshiba e-Studio 167: printing documents ODT LibreOffice 4 Linux problem

    Hello

I'm trying to solve a problem when I try to print some documents ODT of LibreOffice 4 (13.04 Ubuntu operating system) on a Toshiba e-Studio 167 printer.

I have not received any response from my service technical so I hope someone can help me here.

When the document contains fonts as liberation, liberation Serif, etc., I get a printed page with the following error:

    ERROR:
    invalidfont
    THE OFFENDING COMMAND
    $definefont
    BATTERY:
    --nostringval--
    WASRNP + LiberationSerif
    --nostringval--
    WASRNP + LiberationSerif
    --nostringval--
    --nostringval--
    17

However, if export ODT file in PDF format and print PDF files or if I print another PDF Acrobat file, it is not a problem. It works too, if I print a document Word (doc) opened to LibreOffice (usually with a Times New Roman font); in this case, LibreOffice indicates that the document has Times New Roman font, although it is not installed on the system, at least I can't see fonts in the drop-down list. In these cases, that the document prints well, but the new ODT documents with fonts system fail, what happens?

If I print in a local printer (HP Laserjet 1020), he has no problem with any document.

I tried to apply the solution given in the son, but if I change the type of PostScript printer language, I get the same error:

    https://AskUbuntu.com/questions/68909/problem-printing-in-LibreOffice-writer-but-not-in-Adobe-Acrobat-Reader-or-Evolut

This is how I installed the printer driver:

    https://localhost:631
    Administration-> "Add printer".
The wizard has automatically detected the network printer: Toshiba e-Studio 167 Foomatic / Postscript (en)

This site says that the printer works under linux:

I found this page from Toshiba on e-STUDIO167

  • LaserJet Pro 400 M451nw: Laserjet Pro 400 prints documents upside down

My Laserjet Pro 400 prints documents upside down.  This only happens when you print in black and white, and from certain applications.  Files PDF and Word documents print very well, as plain txt files and files from my accounting software, but files CorelDraw and images in Photoshop CS5 reverse print.

If I saved a CorelDraw file in PDF format, it will print correctly, but not the native file of COR.

From Photoshop, it makes no difference what file format I print - jpeg, tif or even a file not saved - all printed reversed if I select black and white.

Colour printing is fine for all applications.

Like most of my needs to print b & w, I the printer defined as it as default and just change color when the need arises, but it means I lose lots of toner if I don't remember to print in color in CorelDraw or Photoshop.  Printing an image to grayscale in color also gives the evil eye.

    Any help appreciated.

    Hello

Try to use a PCL5 driver, which is likely to solve such a.

First, open the control panel > devices and printers, right click on the printer and select printer properties.

Open the Ports tab, and take note of the path selected for the printer, and then close this dialog box.

Download and install the driver HP UPD PCL5, follow the installation by selecting the traditional model.

Follow the wizard of printwr indicated by selecting the same port as used by the original and complete its installation driver.

The UPD driver can be downloaded from the following link:

    http://h20566.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?sp4ts.Oid=4157320&swItemId=ds_99378_6&swEnvOid=4158

Once you have finished, try to print using the HP Universal printing PCL 5 driver and check for the difference.

Please let me know if this can help,

  • HP Officejet 6700 Premium USB print document

    Hello everyone.

I took a glance at the manual and I can't understand how to print a document from the USB key! When I insert the disc, it will scan only for pictures. Is this normal? Should we not we can also print documents (such as PDF or DOC).

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

HP have many printers support this, but not the HP OJ6700. This feature called foot printing (or similar name) which allows users to print documents (only supported formats) without the need for a computer.

    Kind regards.

  • My printer can print documents online such as emails and boarding of IE but not Firefox

My printer has no problem printing Word, PDF and other hard drive, the documents offline, but using Firefox can't print documents such as e-mails and boarding passes online. It doesn't have this problem with IE. I use Windows 7 and a multifunctional device (print, copy, scan, fax) brother. Thanks for any help.

  • I can not long print documents from my iMac/Snow Leopard / HP Laserjet 2300dtn combo. because everytime I try, a message pops up: ERROR: A Fax number is not provided. There is no mention of "fax" in the "print and fax ' file in Prefs system.»

I use an iMac 2011 under Snow Leopard, but it can no longer print documents via my hp laserjet 2300dtn printer. Reason: whenever I try, a message appears through the PRINT icon in the Dock, read: "ERROR: has not received a Fax number. There is no fax option in the Print & Fax window in the System Prefs so I have no idea about the origin of the error message, but suspect there is corruption in the printing preferences.  So I went username/library/Preferences/com.apple.print.PrintingPrefs plist... and a file is moved to the trash. Unfortunately, the problem is not resolved. I am far away computer and would love advice for this situation.

Try to reset the printing system.

  • HP printers: Solution: can't print Microsoft Office documents, or print documents disappear in Windows 7

    Dear all,

If you come across printing number where you will be not able to print only Microsoft Office documents or print documents disappear in Windows 7.

It is caused by changes to security settings on the user's profile. You can either create a new user, login with the new user profile to the printer

Or disable UAC from the control panel and reboot the PC. Here are the steps for Configuring UAC

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/turn-user-account-control-on-off#1TC=Windows-7

    Hope it helps

    Good impression.

Thank you for taking the time to post this solution.

I was pulling my hair out for several hours now and it worked like a charm.

7640 was printing test print, .pdf and Notepad files but it wouldn't print anything from office, chrome, firefox or thunderbird.

Power Googling finally turned to the top of your message and I have not seen anything to suggest it is common knowledge, but I think this problem is quite regular, so I hope others find your post.

    See you soon,.

  • 5660 envy: Envy 5660, OfficeJet 8710 and 8720: they can print documents from a thumb drive USB connected?

ENVY 5660 e-all-in-one printer can print documents (for example, .doc files) from a USB connected to its USB port?

Similarly, can the Pro OfficeJet 8710 or 8720 print documents from a USB connected to its USB port?

    Thank you

    DaleBr

    Hi DaleBr,

Any printer PCL3 as the Officejet Pro 8710, 8720 support only Photos of pritning from a USB (JPEG and BMP), it cannot print the document files such as ir PDF DOCX to a thumbdriver, but only to a computer...

The HP Envy 5660 only support printing Photos from a device memory too, but only from SD card, there are not any USB port for a USB.

None of the models above can only print from a computer or a mobile device...

8730 Officejet Pro which is a postscript printer to print PDF, Word and Powerepoint support files directly from a USB (Latin characters), however it is a commercial product and cost more as such:

  • All-in-one printer will not print documents.

I tried to print documents from my printer on a computer with XP operating system and transplanted paper and went out in white. I put the printer on my other computer with a 8.1 operating system and get the same results. I ran the printing and scanning doctor and checked the difficulty of printing. He tells me everything retrieves and prints a test page is not due to a lack of ink, I thought that could be the cause as my ink is low. Individual items on difficulty printing do not run through one at a time, they appeared all at once, and the bar for what is printing is full until the printer starts to feed paper.

He would make copies either, so I change the ink cartridges and now it prints. I still don't understand why it would print a test page with ink, but not anything else.

  • Desk.Jet 2540: printer continues to print documents

Basically what happened is that my printer can print documents that have already been printed. (previous completed printed documents)
I hit the button of Christmas to stop the previous document.

I am currently using my phone, but I also have 10 windows on my laptop if it makes it easier.

All like to stop printing a page 10, I have documents every time.

    Hi @Canadaboi,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you are unable to stop the print job of printing on printer all-in-one HP Deskjet 2540. I'd be happy to see this with you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

Looks like there is a print job that is stuck in the print queue. Depending on where you have printed the original document, you will need to erase the work out of the queue.

To empty the job queue on your Android phone, try the following steps.

    • Go to the application manager, select Print Spooler and clear Cache/clear data.

To clean the queue on the computer, follow this guide:

I hope this helps. Please respond if you have any questions. I wish you a nice day!
