Forms 10 g - screen resolution

I'm in the middle of an upgrade to oracle forms 6i to 10 g. When the original system was built, it has been optimized for a screen resolution 800 x 600. Fortunately, this resolution is now obsolite.

What would be the standard for the design of forms and how do you manage users with different resolutions, using the system?

I think you're going to get a multitude of different answers to your question. Where I work, we have standardized on 1024 x 768, but only a comprehensive study has been done to find out what the average resolution is for users of our application. The majority of our users is 1024 x 768 or higher. A very small percentage were still running at 800 x 600, but many of these users have only to this resolution because they did not know how tit. My recommendation for you would be to take the time to study your users and find out what the average resolution is and then capitalize on this resolution.

I hope this helps.

    Hello

I use a satellite A60 with Ati Mobility Radeon 7000 IGP graphics card.

Function of the manual user the maximum resolution is 2048 * 1536, but widescreen resolutions are not at all included in the table.

This screen works to my laptop?

    Thank you!

  • Size of screen resolution

Good experts, here's your chance to win the Gold Cup.   Before this week, I had an old HP with XP Home computer. My monitor is LG Flatron #W2053TP, and with XP Home, the resolution was 1078 x 860 (I think it was the resolution of the screen). Now that I have this HP p6750f with Windows 7-64 bit computer, the resolution of the monitor is 1600 x 900 (recommended), which does something more grand... as is done people face.  Windows 7 automatically adjusts these monitors to the screen resolution that fits?

    Hello:

Yes it does, but you can change the resolution of the screen a different setting if you wish. Just to the control panel > appearance and personalization > change the screen resolution.  When you select different resolutions, note the appearance of the display screen in the window, you will see change forms such as 4:3 for the old monitor and shape of widescreen 16:9 for one like yours. You can find that the resolution is set for a 4:3 instead of 16:9 screen screen.

In other words, you should be able to change the resolution of your screen to 1078 x 860 if there is such a context.

In addition, you can install the driver for your monitor if you have not already done so.

  • Resize the form according to the resolution of the Client computer

    Dear all,

We work on form 11g, and we have our form to be resized according to the resolution of the customer. How can do us?

    Thanks in advance,

    Vishnu.

    Dear to Vishnu.

To set / change the size of the window according to the customer's screen resolution try,.

    SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY(FORMS_MDI_WINDOW, WINDOW_STATE, MAXIMIZE);
    SET_CANVAS_PROPERTY('', WIDTH, GET_WINDOW_PROPERTY(FORMS_MDI_WINDOW, WIDTH) - 33);
    SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY('', WIDTH, GET_WINDOW_PROPERTY(FORMS_MDI_WINDOW, WIDTH) - 33);
    SET_CANVAS_PROPERTY('', HEIGHT, GET_WINDOW_PROPERTY(FORMS_MDI_WINDOW, HEIGHT) - 131);
    SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY('', HEIGHT, GET_WINDOW_PROPERTY(FORMS_MDI_WINDOW, HEIGHT) - 131);

The fixed numbers are fixed for the menus and some area of the window. You can adjust these numbers based on your needs. Then change X, Y, width, height according to your requirement.

  • Screen resolution signal with Dell E7450 processor and controller. Help!

    Hi All-

We have some Captivate users who have just received of new computers, touchscreen Dell E7450 processor and controller with WIN8.1 installed.

We are current users of Captivate 8.

The issue we encountered is that when attempting to capture using our preferences, screens change resolutions on us.

    Here is what happens...

    1. Changes to the user to screen resolution 1024 x 768 (applys and accepts the change)
    2. Selects to monitor 1, full-screen capture
    3. To start recording; registration ends

When you look at capturing what we see is that the captured images do not show that 1024 x 768. There are large black borders on one or two sides, and the program that we are captures show left or right raised in a corner.

When we check the properties, this also shows that the captured resolution isn't what we put on the screen (and still shows). It shows, he changed to 1280 x 960.

Has anyone else had an experience like that, and if so, how have you solved this.

We have tried several options, including moving at different resolutions, changing the screen capture to capture the application (which shows the current window too small to see the app), so the addition of an external monitor to see if a capture would work to form it. Nothing seems to work that we can think.

Any thoughts or resolutions to try would be appreciated that we must make our developers back from work.

    Thanks in advance!

We managed to find a solution to this problem thanks to Rick Stone...

The PPP should be set to 100%

apparently the default dpi has been set at 150% if once we have reset all worked as expected.

  • screen resolution test

    Hello world

I wonder if anyone has thoughts on it - and maybe suggestions of resources to use.

Re: screen resolution test for display of the Web site - I find that different online tools all behave in a sort of strange way - and maybe I didn't "win" it.

Example - if I test my old site, www.robcosh.com on any of these services to see how it appears, choose iPhone 5 like the size just means that they create a rectangle of height and use it as a window to look at my site - where I would have to scroll up and down or sideways.   This does not represent the reality in some way, form!   My iPhone 5 shows my site in full if it is in landscape or portrait position and it is automatically resized to fit the page.

With this, it seems that these tools are useless to see how a site might behave with different screen resolutions.

Can all comment and point me to specific tools which I can trust the output of to evaluate the appearance of my sites through a variety of resolutions?

    Thank you very much!

    Rob

Design between traditional desktop platform and other types of devices, such as smart phones, is not at all easy.

While it is true that web browser of any phone smart modern dimensionnera automatically a web site of 'office' to fit its screen phone user must use techniques of pinch-zoom to make the page useful at all. When a web desktop layout is resized to fit the screen of the phone on the arrangement of office content will often too small to read and navigation elements are too small to select with a finger. It's one of the reasons why so many websites have separate versions of 'mobile '.

In recent years, smart phones have radically increased screen resolution. Many Android-based phones have full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution screens, support of higher resolution like 2560 x 1440. Phone screens are still the same physical size (great for a phone screen, but tiny compared to modern desktop computer monitors), but they pack you in many more pixels in the same room size of screen real estate. This is complicating the situation for the design of a mobile version of a website. Some phones very old still in limited use resolution while some new phones have better than the 1080 p resolution.

The traditional desktop platform is not standing still either. Probably a layout 960 pixels regular on its own won't. Technical HiPDI are recommended for the gap between the levels of older computer monitors resolution and HD and better than HD parameters used in recent monitors.

Solution? A good additional amount of planning and work. Adobe Muse doesn't fully support a fully "reactive" approach to web design, but it does support HiDPI and allows for separate mobile and Tablet site generation. Vector graphics will increase in importance. SVG images can properly scale for a variety of screen sizes and large HiDPI implemented. But I think Adobe needs to do a job more improve support SVG in Muse and Illustrator.

I don't think there is a problem with Firefox, but I got a peek inside and I think I'm able to help.

The screen resolution is a Windows 8 setting you need to change. I found this walk through (with screenshots) that should help you.

I hope this helps, but if not, please come back here and we can look at another solution for you.

I just bought an external monitor for my L300. The screen resolution is 1920 x 1080, but the maximum available on my L300 is 1280 x 800. The utility Service Station tells me that all my drivers are up to date - is there a way I can increase the graphics resolution? Any suggestions much appreciated!

    Hi PeterSouthon,

Need to unlock the other screen resolutions. Simply uncheck the option Hide modes that this monitor cannot display as you can see on [THIS | http://blog.wildvista.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Lightroom_hide_modes-340x400.png] photo.

After unchecking this box, you should be able to use the native screen resolution of your external display.

I think I need to clarify something because it looks like you n t know that the Tecra S4 has been delivered with different hardware specifications.

Contains first the Tecra S4 has been shipped with 2 different.
It supports two different views of color TFT
    -15, 1 "(1024 x 768)"
    -15, 1 '' (1400 x 1050) "

It seems that you have purchased a Tecra S4 model which was equipped with a 15.1 "(1024 x 768) display and higher resolution is not available!"

  • Page of Yahoo mail that says 'there a screen resolution problem". A in case of problems with all stakeholders, even all the browsers. The question is Firefox!

I have the latest version of Yahoo mail. When I click on the link "mail" of my Yahoo homepage, he directs me to a page that reads, "There is a problem of screen resolution". In the body of this page, it explains how to fix the problem. BUT, I don't have a problem with the resolution - the screen resolution should be 1024 x 600 or greater and IT IS! This only happens with YOUR browser. I have Chrome and IE, neither of which is a problem. I worked with a representative of the yahoo mail support and he explains that it IS a problem with Firefox and for raise you awareness and fix the problem - I use a Vista operating system on a computer and Windows 7 on my other computer, which has the same problem, so we KNOW for sure, it's a Firefox issue.

I don't think that the effects of this question all those who use Firefox because I'm able to visit Yahoo Mail without any problems. I would say that to reset the zoom of the page on the page, this issue occurs on. You can do these steps go to view > Zoom > reset or press (Ctrl + 0 (zero).

  • NB200 - can't change screen resolution

Hi, I have a strange problem with a netbook NB200.

The screen resolution is set to 1024 x 768 with the lowest resolution to be together is 800 x 600 as a result no parameter displays correctly on the netbook screen and the Start button, taskbar, etc are missing.

The native resolution for this machine must be 1024 x 600 - however, it is not available in the list of troubleshooting steps that can be chosen.

    Here are the steps that have been taken so far;

    (1) to restore the machine to resolution of parameters - the parameters of origin of wiping machine - factory defaults to 1024 x 768
    (2) load the latest version of the BIOS just to see if the BIOS had an impact - don't think it would, but I tried anyway.
    (3) the adapter graphic to uninstall and reinstall the Toshiba europe site (intel 945 mobile (r) express chipset)
Graphic adapter installed okay more low resolution is 800 x 600 and 1024 x 600 option is not available.
    4) noted that the default monitor is still listed as "digital flat panel 1024 x 768".

At present, the only way to use it is with an external monitor.

For now it doesn't help as a netbook - someone has any ideas to try because I am running out of ideas with this one.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi foxpc123,

All that you have done is correct and you have tried everything, but if the factory settings doesn't help reset and screen resolution is automatically 1024 x 768, again, he must a serious malfunction of equipment. I can imagine something with the graphics card itself is not okay and so the monitor properties can t be detected correctly.

You need to contact a service provider authorized in your country. Guys can check the equipment and replace it. I put t know how old is your notebook and if it s under warranty, but the warranty repair material is free. This means that technicians can fix that for free, but if not, you will have to pay for the repair.

So the easiest way is you contact with the guys and talk to them. I m that you can clarify this with the technicians. ;)

  • How can I change screen resolution in firefox in 1280 x 720

Recently, I switched to windows vista ultimate.
    I installed firefox 4.0.1.
    When I open firefox the screen resolution goes to 1280 x 720 to 800 x 600 (or 640 x?).
    How can I fix so I have 1280 x 720?

If I have to can use Win Explorer how I transfer my firefox bookmarks to explore

I think that this may be caused by a parameter in the shortcut that allows you to start Firefox. If you close Firefox and right click on the shortcut (for example, on the desktop or quick launch, is relevant), choose Properties, then the Compatibility tab, try to clear all settings. Then restart Firefox. Who help me?

  • Satellite L650: Is it possible to get the higher screen resolution?

    L650-1CH 15.6 ", 1366 x 768.
    ATI HD5650 1 GB

Passionate about hardware, so please don't feel expected excessive things for me.

Is it possible to get a screen resolution higher than stock, or better with the color / contrast?

I was always annoyed how to wash the stock on my watched Toshiba screen. Recently the screen is cracked, so I figure now is the best time to look at the options.

Google gave me very little information so far. I checked prices on replacement of the screen, with the part about being 60 and part + service with an average of 120, but that most likely leaves me with the same or lower screen quality.

I hope to find something more suited to the movies / games and in 1600 x 900 if possible.

Indications as to where I should start my search?

    Hello

    > Is it possible to get a screen resolution higher than stock, or better with the color / contrast?
Yes, this should be possible since the graphics card should support a higher resolution.

The laptop supports display TFT 15.6 "(HD).
You certainly have the same screen size.

  • Re: Tecra M5 - cannot use the native screen resolution of my external monito

Hi, I have a Tecra M5 and just bought a BenQ G2220HD monitor. However, I can't display the native resolution of 1920 x 1080. I guess it's a problem with my video card.

If so, can anyone please suggest what video card, I need to buy?

    Thank you

    Hello!

I checked the manual of your laptop (it can be downloaded from the Toshiba site) and it seems that the resolution 1920 x 1080 is not taken in charge.
Here is the list of manual of the supported screen resolutions:
    640 x 480
    800 x 600
    1024 x 768
    1280 x 1024
    1600 x 1200
    1920 x 1440
    2048 x 1536

I think that should answer your question ;)

And as Akuma says the graphics card can t be exchanged because it s soldered onto the motherboard. In the area of the FAQ in the forum, I founded this interesting article:
