screen resolution test

Hello world

I wonder if anyone has thoughts on it - and maybe suggestions of resources to use.

Re: screen resolution test for display of the Web site - I find that different online tools all behave in a sort of strange way - and maybe I didn't "win" it.

Example - if I test my old site, www.robcosh.com on any of these services to see how it appears, choose iPhone 5 like the size just means that they create a rectangle of height and use it as a window to look at my site - where I would have to scroll up and down or sideways.   This does not represent the reality in some way, form!   My iPhone 5 shows my site in full if it is in landscape or portrait position and it is automatically resized to fit the page.

With this, it seems that these tools are useless to see how a site might behave with different screen resolutions.

Can all comment and point me to specific tools which I can trust the output of to evaluate the appearance of my sites through a variety of resolutions?

Thank you very much!

Rob

Design between traditional desktop platform and other types of devices, such as smart phones, is not at all easy.

While it is true that web browser of any phone smart modern dimensionnera automatically a web site of 'office' to fit its screen phone user must use techniques of pinch-zoom to make the page useful at all. When a web desktop layout is resized to fit the screen of the phone on the arrangement of office content will often too small to read and navigation elements are too small to select with a finger. It's one of the reasons why so many websites have separate versions of 'mobile '.

In recent years, smart phones have radically increased screen resolution. Many Android-based phones have full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution screens, support of higher resolution like 2560 x 1440. Phone screens are still the same physical size (great for a phone screen, but tiny compared to modern desktop computer monitors), but they pack you in many more pixels in the same room size of screen real estate. This is complicating the situation for the design of a mobile version of a website. Some phones very old still in limited use resolution while some new phones have better than the 1080 p resolution.

The traditional desktop platform is not standing still either. Probably a layout 960 pixels regular on its own won't. Technical HiPDI are recommended for the gap between the levels of older computer monitors resolution and HD and better than HD parameters used in recent monitors.

Solution? A good additional amount of planning and work. Adobe Muse doesn't fully support a fully "reactive" approach to web design, but it does support HiDPI and allows for separate mobile and Tablet site generation. Vector graphics will increase in importance. SVG images can properly scale for a variety of screen sizes and large HiDPI implemented. But I think Adobe needs to do a job more improve support SVG in Muse and Illustrator.

  • Different screen resolutions - what is the best method?

    Hello

I know that this question was asked a thousand times before, but what is the best way and the most reliable to deal with different screen resolutions?

I read a lot of posts about it and tested on everything: unique, methods, combinations, let labview scale my objects, their scale by myself, etc. Another alternative that I found was to design the front panel to the lower screen resolution, let labview scale objects (graphics, controls tab and decorations) as window increases or decreases and lock "groups of indicators, controls and text" to prevent them from scaling and overlap. However, if I lock these "groups" that they don't move in the right place in the resizing of the window. Then, I put these 'groups' within groups and tried to compensate for the position via the property node, but it was not possible because the 'groups' within the cluster have been locked!

After all these tests, I realized that the best way to manage different screen resolutions must have a main VI that detects the current screen resolution and load the good VI for this resolution. The problem is that I have a VI for each screen resolution (created one by one) and if I want to move the code I have to do the same task for all the screws

Since I already have all the screws (for different screen resolutions), I could get the sizes and positions of all the objects through property nodes and create a kind of 'cluster' which, after the detection of the current screen resolution, would be to adjust all the objects. But I have several decorations in the front panel and I can not get information via the node property of them.

THW way you can prevent the control to move when you're scaling, is to group the controls with 'something' which is placed outside the façade. In the example I give you now, you can see that I have grouped the stop button and the 'red faces' with a 'point' on the left side of the front panel.

  • WIndows 7 - can not lower the screen resolution

I don't know when it happened... apparently, after one of the windows updates because it worked very well, a month or two ago... anyway, here's my problem. A month ago I got the Sims 3 World Adeventures. I installed it and he played wonderfully. I have themselves are involved in the Facebook games and he has not played for a few weeks, but recently decided to go back to the Sims 3. I clicked the shortcut, open Launcher, I clicked on play and my screen went black, then white, then gray, then horizontal strips of red, green and blue, I think that the colors are then complete blue (like the blue BSOD) then he began again, black, white etc. I could alt tab out after a few minutes.  No error message, no beeps and the computer wasn't warm because I had just started before trying to play.

I'm running on an Acer Aspite Z5600 with touchscreen (its an all-in-one... looks like a monitor etc), Windows Home Premium, 3 gig of ram, op 64 bit, Pentium system dual core, Intel G45/G43 Express chipset. I went to check my graphics settings - the resolution is set in 1920 x 1080 monitor shows a built-in display. I thought that maybe the resolution was causing problems because the Sims 3 do not like this high middle (I never changed it and the game worked before but I thought of one another program may have) when I put the lower resolution and hit apply I had the same changes in strange black on white, etc.. Yet once again, I had to alt tab out... it took forever to do, and my resolution had not changed.  Everything else seems to work fine... my browser and other... I can play some Facebook games and it seems pretty much any game that starts in a window / windowed mode. I changed the settings on the Sims 3 to play in windowed mode and it starts very well (I HATE the windowed mode tho) I decided to do some research and see if I could find a solution later and decided to go play another game, (one of the verizon games I had played before without problem) and he did the same thing as Sims 3 dang. It is a demand pretty weak game graphics-wise (his Poppit to go - even my old laptop can play it.) so having unplayable all of a sudden he had me beat. Color changes look almost like a kind of graphical test. Hope I have not confused LOL thanks everybody for any help.

I have a reversible temporary solution of 10 steps for this problem, im also using a race of z5600 acer windows 7 and when I try to run anything that changes the resolution of the screen the screen turns black and flashes different colors is a way around this, but you will not be able to use the full screen , and when your done with the game or whatever you will be able to use the full screen new heres how

    1. start

    2 right click computer

    3. click on properties

    4. click on Device Manager

    5. If Conrtol user account appears, click Yes

    6. click on the tab display cards

    7. right click Intel G45/43 Express Chipset

    8. click on turn off

    9. now the display begins to blink and you'll notice that sub-par signifigantly window, you only 3 options for screen resolution size but most of the games will take place and you will be able to see

    10. to make the fullscreen back you will need to follow the same steps as above, then click Activate

Hope that this help is the only way it would work for me ~ JUZTICE

  • Why a spare screen resolution would affect the speed of the system?

I changed my screen resolution from 1024 x 768 to 800 x 600 to test a Web site that I built and that includes another CSS file for 800 x 600 screens. Immediately, I noticed that most of the common functions I do in Explorer - as the opening and closing of windows, goes into the secondary drive, by clicking on the menu Starrt to display programs - were almost twice as fast. The reason for this?

    Hi okieseeker,

If the graphics card supports higher resolution, then it is one that is recommended to optimize the computer's performance.

If you decrease the resolution, it would cause the variation in the performance of the computer.

    Hope the helps of information.

Please post back and we do know.

  • Screen resolution randomly changes from top down

With great frequency, I find that my screen resolution has changed since the highest (1680 x 1050) at the lowest.  It takes much effort with the Control Panel, appearance, customization, display settings to make it back to the highest resolution.  Usually, I have to do in stadiums... Set it to second place, save it and then after about TEN TEST - set for the largest.  No idea why this continues to be and if I can help somehow.  I'll let the computer and the resolution will be fine.  I go back to him and he changed.

My screen is a Samsung SyncMaster 216BW.  I checked for the modernization of the screen, but there is not.  With the help of Visa Home Premium.

    Thank you!

You don't want to check for the drivers of the monitor; you want to check drivers for your * video card. Uninstall the old drivers and install the new. If this solves the problem very well. If not, then you use some software buggy in the background that changes the screen resolution or your video card has failed. In the first case, try a clean boot. If all goes well, add things at once, back test after each change until you find the culprit. If a clean boot does not work (and you have already updated the drivers), then you are looking to replace the equipment.

    Get the drivers of:

    1. site of the device mftr. ; OR
    2. site of the card mother mftr. If the material is on board; OR
    3. website of the OEM manufacturer for your specific machine if you have a PC OEM (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the Web site where you get the drivers.

To find out what hardware is in your computer:

    1. read all documentation that you got when you purchased the computer.
    2. If the computer is OEM, access the site Web of the OEM for your specific model machine and look at the specs (you'll be there to get the drivers anyway)
    3. download, install and run a program of inventory of the free system like Belarc Advisor or System Information for Windows.

    Hello Nic,

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft Community.

I appreciate your efforts to try to solve this problem. Please let us know the following information so that we can help you further:

You did changes to the computer before the show?

As you already update the latest drivers for the video drivers. You can refer to the suggestions provided by DaMned PC replied Du6janvier 22, 2012

Important this task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. • Windows 10/ID inconsistent CS6/screen resolution?

I have a weird problem.  Use the software on adobe for years and this has just started happening when I got a new computer and upgraded to Windows 10.

I keep my screen resolution to 125% because I need to the larger text, etc.  In Windows 10, I find that Photoshop and Illustrator work well with the resolution of 125%, but InDesign is HUGE and fuzzy.  I have to lower the resolution of the screen at 100% to discern the elements on the screen, but everything else is tiny and I can't go from one program to the other, what I do often.  This means also having to change the resolution of the screen again and again throughout the day.

My computer guy said that ID behaves correctly although AI and PS not, even if they are the ones that I prefer the size. Here is a screenshot of the character side by side palettes (PS, HAVE, then ID) to 125%.  The versions of Photoshop and Illustrator are clear and easy to read, but the InDesign one is unclear and too much.

Does anyone have a problem with this or you know a solution to fix?  I don't know why it just started happening that the move to Windows 10.  Do you think that Mobile ID CC would help with this issue?  (I know... I'll have to do later, but this means a lot of work with the already recorded in ID CS6 files, so I am not impatient for there.)  Thanks for any help anyone can give me!

Why switch to CC means a lot of work with files sooner?

I might try the tests and see if they help with the issue. The user interface has been updated for HiDPI screens.

  • Premiere Pro screen resolution error

Just installed Premiere Pro and message received from the following program:

"Your screen resolution is less than the minimum required 1024 x 768."  Please increase your screen resolution.

Question: my screen resolution is actually set to 3000 x 2000 (I use a Surface Book Pro).

How can I set and get first correctly interpret my current screen resolution?

    Thanks in advance.

My 2 cents for what others have done in a similar scenario: you can ignore the message and continue if it does not affect your work. Please test if it has no impact on your project and report any problems. When working with sequences, make sure that you select the right video editing mode and sequence settings properties (Sequence > sequence settings).

When in connection with pcoip, I get my screen in the same size I see in the console.

This happens when I use the full display or multi-monitor mode. When I go to windows mode it also does not tax resolution.

I'll try a new machien (clean install) windows 8 to see if it has the same problem.

I just installed VMware-viewagent-x86_64 - 5.2.0 - 987719 on a new image of windows 8 without a previous version. but still, the resolution does not change my screen resolution.

  • I need a symbol to remain the center of the screen on my web page, regardless of the screen resolution settings.

Im trying to create an animation with functions inside a symbol. I need the settings of keep seprate from the other parameters of other elements on the page as a 'stage' and 'background image', which are attached to height.width, longitude, latitude % symbol. It is important to keep the symbol in the center of the screen. I also need this symbol always stay in the center of the screen no matter screen resolution settings that are probable 1360 x 768 to 1920 x 1080.

    Hello

I solved this very strange problem by repositioning the symbol on the stage before rendering, so after creating a html file tag it looks like all good (even if it looks like very strange edge). I also tested this on IE 7,8,9, Chrome on both PC and Mac, Ipad 1 and 3, the Samsung Note 2 - it looks perfect.

    But:

-Firefox does not at all, just a white screen which means

-On Safari on Mac the Navigation bar at the top looks weird when you try to scale browser (fonts are somehow be duplicated or if)

-When you scroll down to product and klick either the arrow on the right, or the second circle, the following underpage must be animated - well. But when you click on the first circle to animate the first product underpage, you must always two clicks, because the first click, it is empty and by the second klick then it must be animated. It looks like the playhead is sent at the beginning of the chronology of products symbols and first beind stopped there. I don't have any sym.stop (); action on the beginning of this timeline. Any suggestions?

  • Hi, how can I change the screen resolution?

I keep saying to change the resolution of the screen but don't know how to proceed and would appreciate some advice before doing the wrong thing.

    Hello

I don't think there is a problem with Firefox, but I got a peek inside and I think I'm able to help.

The screen resolution is a Windows 8 setting you need to change. I found this walk through (with screenshots) that should help you.

I hope this helps, but if not, please come back here and we can look at another solution for you.

I just bought an external monitor for my L300. The screen resolution is 1920 x 1080, but the maximum available on my L300 is 1280 x 800. The utility Service Station tells me that all my drivers are up to date - is there a way I can increase the graphics resolution? Any suggestions much appreciated!

    Details: Running Windows 7 Pro SP1 on a satellite Pro L300 PSLB9A - 02K 002

    Hi PeterSouthon,

Need to unlock the other screen resolutions. Simply uncheck the option Hide modes that this monitor cannot display as you can see on [THIS | http://blog.wildvista.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Lightroom_hide_modes-340x400.png] photo.

After unchecking this box, you should be able to use the native screen resolution of your external display.
