• Why 6 Lightroom does not matter the keywords in the XMP from previous versions?

  In previous versions of LR from Lightroom (1, Lightroom 2 and, above all, Lightroom 3, 4 and 5 of Lightroom Lightroom) I made sure that my changes are written to the XMP file on and images.

  This allows me to receive a file froms someone else generally, or send one of my files to someone else and the changes, keywords, etc. will be in the DNG file.

  When you import an image (or a folder of images) a disk hard having keywords in the XMP of DNG file, these keywords are lost when importing to Lightroom 6.

  If I export as catalog from an earlier version, and then import into the catalog Lightroom 6, key words are there.

  But the point with XMP should be that changes and keywords are in the file and is not lost.

  So why not Lightroom 6 see and import them?

  I imported a file and supposed to apply any metadata during import (which contains only Copyright information).  This has actually imported stars, colours, changes, IPTC, keywords, EXIF as it should.

  Rely on the observation of mcucinat, the preset selected metadata to apply when importing is clearing the fields.  Make sure that you don't have a check mark next to one of the fields in the preset:

  

  

  A common mistake is to have the check mark on an empty field - which will Erase the field when you import the pic.

• Update 2015.3 is designed to open and use projects from previous versions?

  There is much talk in this forum on the problems of opening and editing of projects created in previous versions. Many personal responses I recommend starting new projects and do not continue with the older.

  Publishers and producers professional re-edit, to update and extract of old projects all the time. Is there final guidance on what projects/features or versions can be reused?

  It's giving me advice. You should be able to update any project and it works in many cases, it is simply not advisable on complex projects. For me, it's one with a lot of sequences that contain a lot of cuts, titles and effects. One with many multi camera sequences too. After that compositions Effects connected through dynamic links, media card based instead of footage of codec, etc., intermediate are examples.

  With a backup of the project, such as an automatic backup, you can certainly try it. You can always revert to a previous version to continue working.

  I am a professional editor who happens to work now at Adobe. Personally, I have avoided all projects in all software updates unless I had to. In doing so, I always did so with a backup.

  In general, only update of existing projects after simplify as much as possible and only when you actually need.

  Hi all.  I agree with the creative cloud but I have still several previous versions of Adobe and applications files on my MAC that I don't know what / has to do with.  Three thoughts come to mind: 1) I think that some older files can still be useful even if I now use the CC apps (with the exception of Encore CS6), 2) I wonder if some files may be necessary for CC apps "still work properly", and 3) I don't know there must be files/applications that are simply too much space on my disk to the operating system (OS) that I can remove.  Here's what I think I do: 1) is a 'global' plan to clean my hardware necessary or unwanted OS disk and 2) to determine the specific measures to be taken for each CC application that I use.  I work mainly with first Pro CC, CC of Photoshop, after effects CC and Encore CS6.  If I knew what I was looking at and what he does, then I think that I could come up with a plan to keep all the 'good' things all too clean my OS drive.  That being said, I enclose below a few pictures of my computer specs, some of Adobe products on my OS and some notes to go with the pictures.  Anyone has any idea where I should start, please?  Thanks to all those who provide their thoughts.

  If you use is no longer, it is safe to remove them.

  All versions of Adobe apps are independent and can work even when previous versions are deleted. That said, the new versions work correctly without their previous versions.

  NOTE: Keeping of Premiere Pro CS6 installed for Encore CS6 works correctly (to avoid licensing issues)

  Yes, you're right. You will gain disk space to uninstall previous versions

  Identifying the specific measures to be taken for each CC application that I use.  I work mainly with first Pro CC, CC of Photoshop, after effects CC and Encore CS6.  If I knew what I was looking at and what he does, then I think that I could come up with a plan to keep all the 'good' things all as cleaning my OSdrive.

  First, check all your project files created using previous versions of Adobe applications. Then use the Adobe CC cleaning tool to remove all previous versions: Adobe Creative cloud cleaning tool

  

  Do not move all the folders between old - new versions. Using the CC cleanup tool will remove apps with their respective folders, if you do not have to worry about them.

  NOTE: be sure to check with the manufacturer of plugin for 3rd party plugins

  

  You don't have to move all the files to your versions prior to the CC version. [Check with manufacturers of plugin if you have installed the plug-ins]  And uninstalling previous versions will not have a negative impact on the CC versions.

  I worked with Captivate since version 4.

  I am now Captivate 6 new behaviors in editing and output.

  Very heavy and boring.

  What I do:

  1. Publish the project
  2. Filled with edition confirmed with dialogue, without the ability to display in the browser directly like in previous versions

  Check your settings in the dialog box post.

  In particular, check to see if your output Options checked Zip files.  Because the error message also talked about the impossibility to acquire the LMS API, this would indicate that you currently LMS Reporting turned on.  If you just publish locally at the moment, you can disable this Quiz preferences > Reporting.

  There is no direct upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7. Direct upgrade is available only upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7 (function editions). For Windows XP, you need to clean install and I suggest you take a look at:

  Hi David and thanks for getting back to me. It turns out that the solution is quite simple when I discovered the problem. I transferred files from my old computer to the new via the Mac software. On my old computer I had called my hard drive and used a custom icon. I had realized that the new hard drive has been named just hard. If the path was not correct. But it was really weird experience do not see the files I know were there. I finally sort it all.

  Some courses pourmai everyone should a solution to the conversion of the former .tdk (clips of titration).  I have some older files from previous versions of first. I need to rebuild a production, but it has those files that are not supported in PP CS4. How far is recovery/convert these files. Miss me some of the original film whiich would be necessary if I rebuild the clips.

  Hoping that this old computer has everything you want and need.

  Now, I open the project with the titles, and then do one of three things. You choose will likely be based on how your old copy of the Pr handles things and functions there.

  If she has the WAB (work area bar), I use it and then just export a DV - AVI, limiting exports to use the workspace for each title. Don't forget to adjust the length, if necessary. Move the WAB and repeat.

  Another way would be to export a still of that/those title, in TIFF format and then import those assets into your new project.

  The last one I can think of is a variation on the first. If you do not have the WAB, delete everything except the title. Adjust the length and then export to DV - AVI import in your new project/version.

  I could have missed another possibility, or both, and I hope that if I did, someone rings.
