Free upgrade in Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate
where is the link for the file of windows 7 installation, other than the DVD image file that does not work?
This is the free upgrade kit supplied with some Vista PCs before the release of Windows 7?
You still have the product key and is it readable?
If yes follow Clean reinstall Windows 7.
If she rejects the key during installation, leave the empty key, then after installing, do the workaround solution 3 Quick Option in Clean install with a Windows 7 Version upgrade.
Let us know how it goes.

Upgrade to Windows 7 Pro to Vista Home Premium
I bought Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, but I'm currently running Vista Home Premium 64-bit. I would like to avoid having to do a clean install and reinstall my programs.
What are the viable upgrade path from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Pro?
Do I need to move to Vista Business and then upgrade to Windows 7 Pro? Upgrade to Windows 7 Home Edition Premium then to Pro?
You can not put Windows Vista Edition Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional.

the Vista Home Premium, Vista Ultimate upgrade error
I need to upgrade a laptop Vista Home Premium to Vista Ultimate to connect to a network of MS Server 2008. Home Premium runs on SP2 and I bought an upgrade ultimate retail package which has Ultimate SP1. When I go to install an update (I don't want to erase the old files and OS), I get the following error "upgrade cannot be started, cancel the installation and choose to upgrade to a version of Windows that is newer than the version you are currently using." Roll back the version Home Premium SP1 will allow me to upgrade to Ultimate, or is there something else that needs to be done? Thank you.
That should do it.
Here's the General information about your problem:
On your installed operating system Service Pack level cannot be greater than what is on the disk to upgrade.
Click Start > right click on computer > properties > system > it will tell you which SP you have install.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/948537
"How to uninstall Windows Vista service packs"
If the OS installed Service Pack 2 and Service Pack 1 upgrade disk > uninstall SP2 installed operating system > install the upgrade > reinstall SP2.
And run the upgrade of a Vista operating system.

Hi, Im running windows vista Home premium with IE 9 on 64-bit for now, nobody knows if there is a download free windows 7 available to try to improve my system from vista to windows 7? Thank you.
Hello
There is no free upgrade to Windows 7.
There was a special offer to do years back. but this offer has expired for a long time.
And Microsoft sells more than Windows 7.
Try Amazon.com.
Before purchasing Windows 7, follow these steps:
Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.
If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.
Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

In February 2009, I bought a laptop from e-store where Vista Home Premium OS has been installed. I gave a lot of money to buy these things, unfortunately, I saw a slow my old xp os disgusting. I learned from a few sources online that I can get a 'upgrade' for the version OEM of Windows Vista Home Premium 32 - bit for Windows 7 free. Is this true? Should I participate in forums feedback for Windows, etc. in order to acquire such a valuable product?
If not, is there another 'economic' way to get a copy of windows 7?
Really appreciate your time in answering my question.
Despite what you may have "competent" wrong, there is no "free" upgrade to Windows 7. You can buy Windows 7 from the Microsoft Store. Carey Frisch

I bought Windows Vista Home Premium and got a free upgrade to Windows 7, which I have installed on Computer1. Can I install Vista on a second computer computer2 and still be legal?
Is same question with versions of Microsoft office, if I have multiple versions allowed to install an earlier version on a second computer and stay legal?
No, unfortunately not, when you upgraded to Windows 7 indeed renounce you your right to use Vista. But keep the product key and Vista media where you need to perform a clean installation of Windows 7 again.
For MS Office (according to license as some allow multiple installations) If this older version is not in use you can install it on this computer second no questioned asked.
Never be afraid to ask. This forum has some of the best people in the world to help.

Free upgrade from Vista Home Premium 7
My laptop is still under warranty. I bought it New from Best Buy. Given that it was a floor model, they tell me that my computer is NOT available for free upgrade to Windows 7. Why? Is it possible that I can get a free upgrade to Windows 7? It has Vista Home Premium built in and the reason that I don't like is that it is not useful at all as much as to teach me how to use the computer. I am a senior and I learn right on the computer. If I can't get the free update, Do You traore the price of Windows 7 never boils? Any help is appreciated! Thank you very much!-Chris, in Dearborn, Michigan.
Suppose you have qualified for an Upgrade to Win7 for free if you had not bought a floor model is reduced, Chris. In any case, only Best Buy can really explain why the computer does not qualify.
You can buy an Express Upgrade to Win7 Home Premium (~ $120 USD retail or less) or Win7 Ultimate (~ 220 USD $ retail or less). See http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/shop?T1=win7 or http://www.google.com/products?q=%22windows+7+home+premium%22+%2B+upgrade&hl=en&aq=f
Please note that the upgrade to Win7 peut invalidates your warranty and Service contracts.
In any case Windows Update has nothing to do with the upgrade of Windows. Please post future questions about the upgrade in this forum: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7install/threads
