Frequency of the RAM?

I have a hp pavilion 2320tx g6.

on official specifications, it is said that he has 4 GB DDR3 ram at 1600 mhz, but when I check using harware monitoring software SPECCY, he says "4.00 GB Single - Channel DDR3 @ 798 MHz (11-11-11-28) '...

How is it possible...?

Download and run CPU-z to see what he says. CPU - z will give you much more detailed information on your memory Speccy will be.

Speccy does not give you the information of DDR (double rate). 2 x @ 798 MHz is 1600 mhz. 798 mhz is the DRAM frequency and not the most commonly used and advertised to double data rate.

  • Question on the frequency of the RAM - Tecra M5-384

    Hello, everyone!

I am considering buying a Toshiba Tecra M5-384, but there is one thing that concerns me - system memory. In the specifications , it is written that the technology of system memory is DDR2 533 MHz.

    This means that I can't use DDR2 677 MHz?

    Hello

I am not a technician, but in my opinion, you should always use tested and absolutely recommended hardware components. That s my general opinion.

You can use module more fast but be realistic. Do you really think this will help? AFAIK slower module will be running 533 MHz. The best thing you can do is to increase the RAM to max level using modules of memory live recommended. On this way, you will be sure that everything will be ok.

  • Satellite L300 PSLB8E - how to increase the ram clock speed

I have a laptop which is equipped with 2 slots for ram PC2-6400
    1 - Samsung module M4 70T5663QZ3-CF7 [800 MHz] 2GB
    2 - Samsung module M4 70T2864QZ3-CF7 [800 MHz] 1 GB
    GPU: Intel GM45
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo T5870 Mobile @ 2000 MHz
According to the manufacturer, this kit allows you to work with the 667/800 MHz memory speed, but the problem is that reference programs show the actual frequency of the ram at 399 MHz.

    Question No. 1:
    (a) why not clock the memory works in 800 MHz but only 399 MHz,
    (b) how to change to a 800 MHz

    Question No. 2:
I'm going to buy a processor
    Penryn Core 2 Duo T9600 processor (1066 MHz FSB) (2.80 G) Hz or T9400 (2.53 G)
and install it in the computer
and increase the memory of 2 x 4 GB 800 MHz (8 GB)

I explained that this possibility is provided for by the manufacturer according to the Maintenance Manual for:
    Toshiba computer
    Satellite L300/L305
    Satellite Pro L300
    EQUIUM L300
    SATEGO L300
    (PSLB8x/PSLB9x)
    (PSLBAx / PSLBBx)

If this operation will help to improve system performance

I put t know what programs you use and if it is good or not if this info can be good and perhaps not. I put t know. The fact is that you n t have one any influence on the functionality of memory and I doubt that you can do something and change some values.

Exact specification for laptop laptop does not for me but I think that Satellite L300 must have Intel GM45 chipset and I presume that for your motherboard FSB is 667 MHz. You can improve up to 8 GB and compatible 4 GB RAM module has PA3670U-1M4G part number.

Upgrade CPU on Satellite L300? I put t know man. A friend of mine has this model of laptop and I don t know if it's the right decision to spend money to upgrade this old model of laptop budget.

  • Satellite A200-1TS - question on the frequency of the DRAM

    Hello

I have the Satellite A200-1TS with bios vista x 64 vers.2.60 and I upgraded the RAM with (slot 1 and slot 2) each module 2 GB 800 MHz, and work, but the cpu - z program is detect the TIMINGS TABLE frequency is what is good for 800 MHz to 400 MHz, but the DRAM frequency is always working with 332,5 MHz (667 mhz).

What is the problem? Can I do something to work at 400 MHz?

    Hello

I think that the RAM works on 333 MHz because it s always according to the FSB of the processor.
It seems therefore that the CPU has a 333 MHz FSB and RAM also runs on this speed.

  • Satellite C50-B-12Z - to upgrade the RAM up to 8GB

I have Satellite C50-B-12Z, and I want to improve his memory of 8 GB of ram. Crucial memory site says that with my laptop is recommended 8 GB ram 12800, but would be less expensive to put a barrette dimm 4 GB of ram, since my laptop already has 4 GB of ram?

Is it possible to have the problem since the RAM dimm fault its Samsung and I want to install a memory of brand? (all other spec of ram are identical, frequency, voltage, etc.) ?

    Hello

At first some basic on your laptop model info: you are right, it can be upgraded up to 8 GB of RAM. Your laptop has two RAM slots, and according to specification for laptop, there must be a 4 GB so strips you need to do is add the second module of 4 GB.
It is always recommended to use two identical modules.
Original 4 GB of RAM has part number PA5104U-1M4G, so I recommend get you the same.

Problem is that your machine is not supported for upgrading RAM by user and access to the RAM slots is quite complicated. The whole bottom cover needs to be removed and it must be done by the authorized service provider.

If you try to do it yourself you will lose the warranty.
My advice to you is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and pick up some info on this.

  • Pavilion 15 p-020tx: update of the RAM, Pavilion P 15-020tx

I want to improve my RAM. It currently has a 4 GB of unique RAM installed with an empty slot. Recently I bought 8GB DDR3 RAM with the same frequency of 1600 MHz but my laptop does not detect it.
Well trying to tell me is possible to increase my RAM and how?

I found a solution for my problem.

There are two slots for RAM in my laptop and I think that one was primary (where original RAM was installed) and other secondary (empty housing).

Unfortunately, by updating my RAM memory, I changed the position of the RAMS. either I put new RAM (Corsair 8 GB) in the main location (where my original RAM was installed by HP) and placed originals RAM (4 GB) in the secondary location. So my system detected no additional memory.

Now the positions of the Rams stayed original and my system has detected an additional memory so and showing 12 GB of RAM.

  • How you upgrade the RAM on Mac mini (end of 2014)

The Support page says it is not accessible, but everything is assembled (without guarantee) just to write this post in Safari with open iTunes I am hitting 3.3 4.0 GB.

I've always liked Apple since the first iPod came out, but I didn't know that their computers were also disposable.

I guess I should know better when the price is only a little higher then the Apple TV, I went to buy, but it's the first Apple computer, I buy, and it's better than my Apple TV ver1 who died.

So when I cut it open I find accommodation from the PIN and what chip will take the 1.4 GHz, 4 to 8 GB machine.

I guess there is only one slot (pinout) and it is probably welded in.

    No, they were serious

the RAM is welded in there. You can not remove it.

  • Font managers of the RAM and fonts

    Hi all

I feel that the ability to enable and disable individual fonts using font (font book or third party) management software is designed to eliminate RAM memory (or at least somehow the unloading of the treatment of the Mac).

I also believe I read that he mentioned somewhere that all fonts placed in the user/Library/Fonts location are always active in the RAM, and this is perhaps why it is important to not just throw hundreds of fonts in this folder.

    I wonder:

    -If above are true?

-If you use third-party font management software to disable a font placed in the folder User/Library/Fonts eliminates actually he RAM memory (as is probably for policies outside the system of appointed police records)?

-If none of this is true, then why even should we use font management software to disable or deactivate fonts - why not just let them all turned on if they are not in the RAM?

I want to make sure that I fully understand. I hope that this will help me make more informed decisions about my workflow of font management.

I'm under El Capitan 10.11.6, although I don't think that this specificity is relevant.

    Thanks for the informed answers!

I don't think you are quite correct, I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong but here is my assessment of the situation...

All installed or active policies are not loaded in RAM at startup because it would be than a useless on memory limited to Macs. System fonts will be loaded into memory as they are usually required.

I believe that certain police functions get cached, such as previews of the fonts that are used in some applications, these selection committees are often written cache files stored on the drive that I can tell.

Installation and activation of the thousands of fonts may cause some problems as apps may need to generate previews of these fonts - for example MS Word has its own custom selector of fonts that use the real font for names selection. Some design apps can analyze or search fonts when opening certain documents with the related font styles. Other applications such as TextEdit, Mail system use based Gatherer so that they benefit the plan puts large fonts in cache.

The reason of FontBook is to assist in the management of fonts. OS X uses the 'library' system to allow multiple levels of abstraction, by example/System/Library is for OS-level files (stuff own apples), / library of the third parties who rely on the scale of the support system, ~/Library for user specific files. There is even in charge of resources to be stored in/Network/Library for use with a server on a WAN.

Manage all this complex without a central application. In my view, that order preference is the user on the highest levels, so your own user fonts folder is selected on the system if you named the same way fonts. Part of the idea is also that you can export fonts in your own home library without affecting the other users of the system.

Third parties also have police managers this attempt to 'do the right thing' based on what documents and applications you use. These are for most major design offices that use custom fonts or is needed to deal with versions of specific fonts, variations and even if the fonts are licenses for specific customers etc.. Fonts dynamically loading & unloading can cause headaches depending on what software you use.

I do not think that average users need to think about fonts on OS X (beyond adding their favorites occasionally), you may be overthinking it unless you're in lots of design work.

If you are concerned about running out of RAM, you probably need to install more, get a better Mac or run applications less. Just keep in mind what OS X tent now to use all the RAM available most of the time if not what is the point of installing it?

No, it should not affect the machine when the withdrawal/re-installing memory - correctly.

My second thought about this - why it has removed/re-installed memory several times?  Trying to upgrade the drive?  change a component any?  repair?

Materials only I 'played' were - SSD, adding second HARD drive disk with data doubling cable, insulating modular wifi/bluetooth, etc. and of course, the upgrade memory.  Once they did that, I got very little intention of reopening the mini - except air jet, clean the fan.

  • Use of the RAM of Firefox causing accidents?

In the last three days, I have observed a new problem with my Firefox. I never had this problem before.
If I load any text or images on a tab, it causes the RAM to increase usage. Its use does not diminish over time, and sites such as Facebook and 9GAG, with long flow of images and text, can cause the use of RAM go more than 2.5 Gigabits. Once it reaches this threshold, Firefox crashes. Manually close Firefox also removes the use of RAM, although the closing of tabs does not work.
I scoured the list help accidents, even if nothing is done.
I am running the latest version of Firefox (15.0)

I need to upgrade my Mac (white unibody MacBook mid-2010) with a SSD (and iMac mid-2010) and the RAM and SSD: I look to buy upgrades site Crucial and OWC site and there is a little difference, in terms of money: it's better to buy the Crucial site or OWC site.

MacBook, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)

    < re-titled by host >

They have good tools to find compatible parts for your Mac models.  The OWC took is here

    http://eShop.MacSales.com/MyOWC/

OWC tends to have the most detailed information on the Mac.  If I look to the top of the part to OWC and review specifications.  OWC offers often information based on the Mac-specific tests.  If Crucial offer something similar for a substantially lower price, buy it from Crucial.  I'm sure they have a refund is not political, if a part they say is compatible.  I bought the RAM and SSD both Crucial and OWC.  From my experience, be it high quality.

For the 2010 iMac, OWC also offers a "kit" (with the tools and support) to replace the hard drive of 3.5 inches with a 2.5-inch SSD.  Eventually, if it's a 27-inch iMac, I think that you can Add the SSD instead of replace the hard drive.  And they have self-produced how-to videos on the process, related to many of their lists of products.  OWC provides a lot of information with added value and service for Mac users.

OWC also offers kits to replace the optical drive on some Macs (including MacBooks) with an SSD (as a secondary internal drive).

  • Great use of the RAM in the new MacBook Air?

It's the first time I've owned a Mac and it is currently a week. I use every day since it arrived (watching videos, using the word and research). Recently, I found my way on activity monitor, 7.5 GB of physical memory to 8 GB was in use - 3 GB of this was kernel_task. I stopped all open windows, so it is now 1.11 GB, but it still seems way too high. That said, I know nothing of what it should be, so I would like to know if this is normal? If this is not the case, what I can do to lower the kernel_task? (In addition, the kernel_task is GB 25,42 disk tab, should I worry?)

Set apart this, nearly half of the RAM is still in use and I would like to know if it's too normal - for such a new mac.

The system was not slowed down at all, while I use it, but if there is a problem, I would like to know before it becomes a problem. If the problem comes from the manufacturer and not how I use the mac, I of the ofc as contact with Apple.

Features: 8 GB of RAM, Intel Core i5, 256SSD

Yes, it's normal.  On operating systems newer, the OSX tries to use as much RAM is available for maximum efficiency.

The new setting is the PRESSURE.  If it's Green, everything is good.  If she turns to orange or red, then there may be issues that need to be addressed.
