from scratch

I had a lot of problems with my mac pro book.  I took it to the genius bar and they fixed the part of the questions.  Since then, I noticed that the 'other' category is for about 3/4 of my storage.  I want to reset my mac to the factory setting to see if this will fix this issue. I want to just make sure that my plan will work.

First I'll be back to original factory setting.  Can I transfer all my files from my backup drive.  Then I can go to the app store to the purchased tab and reinstall Yosemite. Is this correct?  Will this work?  I have early 2011 mac book pro Yosemite running. Thank you

On a Mac running Yosemite, the only way to restore the factory settings is to start up your Mac in now pressed the keys Command + R. That will give you access to utilities to reformat the disk and restore from a backup Time Machine.

Details here > OS X Recovery

After restoring factory settings just re download Yosemite from the App Store don't work. You must use Internet recovery.

Recovery of the Internet requires a connection high speed.

  • I want to set up Firefox sync from scratch using an account I own which shows as 'already underway use'.

I had a problem with my old Firefox Sync account (from work, using my work email address) and I want to implement synchronization using my personal account. When I try to set up synchronization, my only options seem to be "Create new account" or "I have an account". If I select Create a new account, I'm stuck because technically the account has already been used (I've set up Sync a few years before using my account personal but never used), even if it is not in use on any of my machines. If I select I have an account, he wants me to synchronize the device with a new one, but I don't have a second to synchronize. I want to use my existing account to set up the synchronization from scratch on my main machine. How can I get this done?

on another note: firefox 29 that will be released at the end of the month will use a different account system (not compatible with the current accounts of sync), then it might not be useful effort setting a synchronization with the old powers now: synchronize your bookmarks from Firefox, history, passwords, etc.

    Hello Anshul230499,

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

If a download was interrupted in the Mac App Store, then whenever you have new Internet download should then restart.

If a download application is interrupted

Once an Internet connection is restored, your purchased downloads should restart automatically. The Mac App Store may warn you that there is a problem with the download and ask if you want to restart downloads. Confirming will restart all pending downloads.

Download time may vary according to the size of the file and the speed of your Internet connection. See this article on purchases made on iTunes Store for more information on the time to download large files.

  • Workstation HP Z240 Tower: can I install Windows 7 from scratch?

    Greetings!

The operating system on my computer is actually win 10 Pro demoted to Win 7 Pro. I want to know if I can install from scratch Windows 7 in my computer using the Windows 7 disc with the computer.

I was told, the operating system is Windows 10 but it uses an interface of Windows 7. I don't understand the need for this complication. If you can just install Windows 7, so why use an interface? Maybe this computer only works with Windows 10?

What are you trying to do, as you say that you are already using Windows 7?

I do not understand your question about "interface."

The GUI (graphical user Interface) for Windows 10 incorporates most of the features of the GUI for Windows 7 and also of the GUI Windows 8/8.1.

    See: http://www8.hp.com/ca/en/products/workstations/product-detail.html?oid=8354563#! = form tab

    Your computer was preinstalled with:

Windows 7 Professional 64 (available through 10 Pro 64 Windows downgrade rights)

and also comes with a license and support for Windows 10 Pro software.

My recommendation: given that Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 7 in January 2020 - a short period of absence - install Windows 10 to get security-updates for your computer now and after January 2020.

Suggestion: if you have a "spare" disk drive, disconnect your current hard drive, connect the 'spare' and try to use this support for Windows 7 to install Windows.  That should answer your question about "can I install...". ».

  • Satellite Pro L10 reconstruction from scratch

I need to rebuild a Satellite Pro L10 from scratch:

    Model PSL15E-00U003EN number
    Serial number: X 5137966

I tried the recovery disc, no joy, LAN and wireless both give "limited or no connectivity."
So I tried to reload Windows with a disc of Microsoft, always "connectivity limited or not.
So I downloaded all the drivers.
I rebooted the LAN and wireless drivers, and the modem driver and a few others to heal the yellow "?" in the Device Manager

What to do next? Do I need another driver? I tried the Toshiba Recovery disk and loading Windows 'vanilla '. It's starting to look like a hardware problem, and I suspect that my last resort is to recreate the PC from scratch. A few questions:

    1. is there a complete list of drivers somewhere?
    2. in what order should I load drivers etc?

Ideally, I would like to leave the non-essential elements, so I have a 'standard' windows install.

    Any help gratefully received.
    Simon.

    Hello

already checked your network connection on the side of the router? May be some settings in your router are not correctly defined, or perhaps a few other computers on your network is involved with your Satellite L10.
Please check your computer to another, well-known to the work network and ensure that the machine has also limited connectivity to ensure that it could be a hardware failure.

    Please give some feedback.

  • Can not find card his after clean reinstall from scratch for 32-bit vista from 64

    Hello everyone,

Thanks in advance for taking the time to help me with this frustrating problem.

I did a clean reinstall from scratch from vista 32 bit vista 64.   None of my goodies (mp3 player, phone... all unfortunately outdated) played on the 64 version.  That's why I nuked it.

Resettlement has worked like a charm, except that now I can't get anything external outlets, which worked fine before the reinstall.  I used all aspects of the Device Manager and checked for downloads on each.  When I go to sound devices, it lists the sound card as "device high definition audio" and said that the software has been updated.

The internal speakers are the delicious Altec Lansings... and they work fine.  In fact, when I plug something into the headphone Sockets, they continue to work.

Therefore, I'm trying to find the name of the card its installed on my build and then find the driver for it.

  • Create a Module of Csharp/DLL from scratch?

I want to create a module/DLL in C Sharp (Visual Studio .NET 2008) from scratch.  This module will be called from the Tools menu of the TestStand, and it will take a qualified full path of the file in the sequence class as input.  But I do not know how to start.  I took a brief look in the examples folder, but I don't see anything in Csharp.

Is there an example I can copy?

Y at - it a helper that will generate the stub (s) Csharp for me?

Is there a friendly NI TestStand deity (God or goddess, I'm not picky) which will display a header/source stub file I can use?

I don't know that you are pregnant. It of really not much to it. Simply create a c# class, which is a method you want to call from TestStand (make sure it is public). Then use the .NET adapter when you create a step (maybe a step in the Action) and step settings panel allows you to specify your Assembly and what to call it.

I recommend that you store your code modules relative to the directory of the file in the sequence and specify this relative path for the setting code for the path module. In this way, you can move the tree of whole directories to a different drive letter or location and everything will still work.

In addition, if you want to use the TestStand API, TestStand API interoperability assemblies are in the GAC and should appear in the list when you choose to add an assembly reference in visual studio.

Your message was clearly not your comments to Microsoft Answers web site, so I moved it on the Feedback forum to "Install, upgrade and activate" windows forum.  Please return to your message, click the button change under it, change the menu Windows Version dropdown to indicate which version of Windows you are using, and then click on submit.  People can help better if they do not have to guess your version of Windows.

Your best bet is to reinstall WIndows from scratch using the original Windows installation kit or factory restore disks supplied with the PC when your purchased people.  If she did come with a restore or the Windows installation disk drive, it came with a partition on the hard drive and the software to allow you to create the restore disks yourself.  Which will ensure that none of their remains.

If you want to share data or peripherals between two PCs, you will need a LAN.  If you have internet access, then you already have a local area network.  Your ADSL access may or may not have a router provided with the equipment to access, but if it isn't you can easily add a.  The Knowledgebase Microsoft have some tutorials that describe how to configure a network home.

  • use restart from scratch using the option "ALT F10" and lose everything. Help, please!

Whenever I try to connect my laptop, a screen invites me to do a repair of launch set-up. It goes through the motions for ten minutes and the screen turns white. The only way I can get at all is to restart all from scratch using the option "ALT F10" and lose everything. Any advice I would really appreciate.

    Hello

    1. Since when are you facing this problem?
    2. You did any recent changes?
    3. What version of Windows is installed on the computer?

I suggest that you go into recovery options and try to perform system restore and see if it helps:

  • I'm building a new computer from scratch. Is it possible to transfer my windows xp OS from my old computer to the new?

I'm putting together a new mini computer from scratch. Is it possible to recover my Windows XP and install it in my new computer?

This license/copy of Windows XP OEM is * linked * to this Dell system.  It is * not * transferable to any other system.  This is part of the OEM license agreement.  In other words - you did not have licensed copy for Windows XP - the Dell system has.  You may not have known/done this so far - and it can't make you very happy with the situation.

A decent (albeit simplified) explanation of the difference between a detail a Windows XP license and OEM Windows XP license:

As you can see - there's a reason that the OEM license was cheaper and cheaper aspect was why Dell it came with the PC.

Hi all. No one knows what buttons to press so that I can format and reinstall windows xp from scratch on my lap top compaq pentium 4 from a CD-ROM.

    Thank you.

    Hello

In your other thread, you said that your XP CD is damaged.

The manufacturer normally gives you one way or the other to reinstall; not both.

If you had a recovery partition, this is the information:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?CC=au&LC=en&docName=bph07145#N296

    1. Turn on the computer.
    2. Just after the first screen display (the display of the logo), press the F10 key repeatedly until a recovery menu appears.
    3. etc.

    See you soon.

  • Can I possibly have to reinstall my Windows XP from scratch so I can give it to my friend without the CD?

Reinstall Windows XP Professional without disc

Can I possibly have to reinstall my Windows XP from scratch so I can give it to my friend without the CD? If it helps, it's a computer of American Megatrends. I also need a new installation and power reinstall as if I just got. Thank you.

Here's the thing... I had the computer running Windows XP as a gift and it came not with a manual or a recovery disc or anything... just the computer.

    Start > all programs

Search for PC help & tools

A click on that and you should see Recovery Manager

Most of the computers: start tapping F10 on reboot to enter Recovery screen

  • How can I reinstall Windows on a new drive without starting from scratch?

I have XP installed on a FAT32 32 GB to a 160 GB HARD drive partition.  I ran out of the room into the partition and want to delete the partition, wipe the drive and start over with him as a single partition NTFS drive.  Is there a way to preserve XP installed by copying an image to another 160 GB drive installed in the machine, rather than starting from scratch? The same question would apply if I decide instead to upgrade to a larger HARD drive.  Thank you.

Because the FAT32 and NTFS file systems are different, you will need boot from scratch and do a "clean install" Windows XP
